So what do you think the moving of NPCs like Cid into Ishgard would involve?
Considering the Airship workshop is in Ishgard not surprise there since we saw it in the new trailer released not long ago and they did mention may be a lot more NPCs we know may move to Ishgard as well.
However, a interesting thing they mentioned is that Rowena (and maybe her tomestone operation) may move to Ishgard as well due to her monopoly expanding in 3.0 even more.

If they do move it will probably be mentioned at the end of 2.55 (which would give a good reason to make us complete the 2.xx storyline before being able to go into Ishgard). And what I mean is that they will end on a "Well we need to get ready to move into Ishgard as that is where the major threat is." kinda note.

i dont know if rowena will cause unlike the npcs from waking sands rowena isnt instanced for everyone, so if they moved her ppl w/p expansion couldnt see her! Unless they made 2 of her! CLONES!

I kind of hope (honestly) they do away with Rowena and her slave labor force...I really dislike them...all female all ending in -na what gives Rowena? Her Better Business Bureau rating must be abysmal!

I'm honestly more interested that Yoshi mentioned Cid moving to Ishgard, seeing as he's all but literally glued to Mor Dhona by a supposedly optional side quest chain. Maybe it's not going to be as unimportant as we thought? I can dream.
(Before people who have already done that quest chain rage about gating, there's no way they can make you do a story twice.) -

This sort of news along with some upcoming major change on the order of the end of 1.0 makes me wonder, is something going to happen to Revenant's Toll? They've spent a lot of time building it up, patch by patch. What's to say they won't knock it down? I doubt they would obliterate it completely, but perhaps it will end up less a safe haven than it's been up until now.

It all depends on how the MS plays out. And just because someone moves to the new area with the expansion does not mean they won't show up elsewhere. The NPCs could be somewhat instanced. For instance: Game registers that you are at point X in the MS. NPC locations are as followed (A,B,C). You complete MSQ Y, which leads you to Ishgard. Game now registers you at point Y. NPC locations are now as followed: (D,E,F). However, Player 2 is still at point X, so the NPC locations have not changed yet for him.
While I don't like to mention it, WoW does similar things. Take Garrosh. Before the last expansion. He could be found in many different locations in the game. (pretty sure he's dead now, and can still be found throughout the world.)
If you are at a part of the game where the NPCs are to be at a certain area, they would be. It would not be until the individual player passes a certain threshold in the story that the game would change for them, causing the NPCs to move locations. -

They're running a tighter ship than WoW, too, so characters, so far, are never obviously in two places at once (or standing around somewhere after dying). I was referring to inconsistencies that could inevitably pop up in an individual player's NPC instancing, the way it works in FFXIV. You'll notice, for example, Urianger always goes back to the Waking Sands after every appearance, since he is the primary quest-giver for half of the optional endgame, and thus "locked" to the Waking Sands. Cid can easily do the same for his new workshop in Ishgard if they go that route.Quote:

I think SE still has major plans for Mor Dhona, Seems like they're still expanding the Revenants Toll. All that aside I'm tired of seeing those damn NPCs anyways. So I'm hoping not many make the move if any at all.
