Can we get all CDs reset after a wipe?

Wouldn't this be nice...especially in endgame content, where you are testing stuff and learning battles via trial and error, sometimes you wipe right after some people have used long CDs and then you have to wait for 2-3 minutes before engaging the boss again.

What's preventing SE from implementing something like this?

Only thing I can think of is that the CDs, if you wait for them, take a chunk out of your total time remaining to completion. Maybe this is intentional or maybe it was overlooked when they made the adjustment for city states. I'm not too keen on the latter as they had the opportunity to ditch it but you still face CDs even outside of city states. Must be some reason......

since when can you change role in duty, let alone job?

This really needs to happen. So much wasted time. Also arguments between people about whether we should wait for cool downs or not. It creates unnecessary stress.

'Other' games do it. There could be a cut-off of say cooldowns of three minutes or higher reset.

I really can't think of a single excuse on how this could be abused. I personally hate when my static wipes just as I use a long cooldown, as I know that'll prevent us from immediately pulling. Please please please Square, give us this QoL :(

This got my vote. All the time we spend waiting for our CD to be available again when practicing endgame adds up. When we are still learning mechanic we don't really care if our CD are available, but when we start to progress through phases, CD availability becomes more important. I don't really see how this can be abuse, I mean it's full party wipe, we will need to restart the fight anyway, rather than have us waiting why not just reset all our CD so we can get back to it faster.

It's just ridiculous how it is now. Sometimes you end up spending more time waiting for CDs than actually praticing on fights. Put together long fights (10min+), a lot of wipe mechanics, latency issues, etc, etc, and you have your stress. My personal guess is that SE thinks that it's "cool" to add those dumb dificulties to say the content has hard beaten, or challenging.

Or, they just want to dry your game time ($$).

Wut? Is it even possible to complete any content without at least one healer that has protect?

Wish I could thumbs up this more then once. This needs to happen.

Yeah I can't think of a way to abuse it either. Just make it for 8-man trials/raids and call it day. It doesn't effect us much because we just pull anyways and deal with it, but it should would be nice and it sure makes almost no sense.

Everyone has wanted this forever. There is no good reason for this to not be a thing. Especially on stupid long CD's like Battle Voice on BRD, or Hallowed Ground on PLD. When learning something new, you will just go without these skills every other attempt because it's a waste of time to make the entire raid wait on 1 skill, even if that skill is one of their best.

I would even go one step further (unless this was meant to be included). Potion CDs also, specifically X-Pots. Literally, the only thing that would do is help stimulate the economy for any group learning. Use more often = buy more.


SE, please make this happen in Heavensward! At least the skill CD reset anyway. It's not even that big of a deal for the potion CDs, but doesn't hurt to ask :D

the waiting is more stressful than the fights themselves. I've already come to the point I'd get pissed at wiping not because we failed but because we're gonna wait for cooldowns again. sigh

If I recall they actually said they were looking into this in a live letter not long ago. They also said they were thinking of removing the cooldowns on skills when changing class or job... Pretty sure they're aware of this one.

I don't know about raids, but I do know they already removed CDs for job swapping within sanctuaries.

This has been asked several times before, was asked in one of the live letters and did get a response that they're looking into it to be sure first that there's nothing exploitable about allowing it and whether it's feasible to do it. I don't remember exactly where so no link but that's all they said.

Yeah I support this. SMN's Enkindle and WHM's Benediction took 6 minutes to cooldown and what if "oh shit" moment happen when this skill still cooldown? :(

Im just happy that in fights like T5 usually the time passes for this cd till I should need it. But yea bene can be a pain... tries to save tank in T9 p4 at bf... wipes still... get lags in p1 next pull... meh :(

I support this. Nothing like someone going ld @ pull and then you have to wait 3 mins for cd's. It will chew up raid time like its going out of style if you are trying to learn a fight.

While I agree with this, I find it a little funny that everyone is talking about "Crazy long cooldowns that take FOREVER!!" when I've gotten used to 10 minute, 20 minute, 30 minute, and even 2 Hour cooldowns from various other MMOs, and I think the longest in this game is like 6 minutes.

Well, it did add up though those cool down. It eat up the food duration time too~

In the MMOs that had 10min-24 hr cool downs (Everquest comes to mind. Lay Hands / Harm Touch on PLD/SHD!) - it wasn't that pig of deal to start a pull in a raid without them because there were so many people involved. In FFXIV, if 30% of your DPS is going to be losing 10% of their DPS, its kind of a big deal in the tight DPS checks during progression, especially on hard enrage timers.

Can we also get a CD reset after being raise as well? It sucks being killed after just using aetherflow.

Lol yup. Not many moves are very abusable, but that's probably the best example right there.

I bloody hate not having my buffs at pull. Battlevoice being 5 minutes too zz

Does it take 4 and a half minutes to discuss "Don't stand too close to me that is splash damage", or "That circle means death" ?


Like, really? Do you strategize after every single wipe, ever? Sure, strategizing after initial wipes happens all the time. Do the players perform to perfection directly after discussing said strategy? No, practice still makes perfect.
