Please make kicked people stay kicked

While doing a low level dungeon for a relic book, we had to kick a tank who was trash talking everyone and refusing to tank anymore (doing Manderville dance non stop). He came right back to the same party 3 times in a row, using up everyone's 4 hour kick limit. So, the troll won. Someone (me) had to eat a 30 minute penalty to get out.

Please SE. Change it so if a person is kicked, they cannot be placed back into the same group.

That's about when you don't go back in for a tank for another 5 min. He would have found another group.

A temp solution is (who even the leader of the group is) don't start searching for a replacement the instant you kick someone (especially ones with instant que), this way it lowers the chance of getting the same person kicked as that person may end up in a different group. Doesn't stop it totally but does slow it down.

You could have opted to vote abandon rather than take the leaving penalty.

None of the replies deals with the issue in my mind. It isn't difficult to ban ID number from Dungeon Instance number.

why would he want to join again the same group? to get kicked again ?

In order to vote someone out, you need 2 people total: the instigator, and one other.
In 8 mans, it's 4 people.
If half the group doesn't like you, why would you want to be around them?

So I can get my loot. If they don't want to be friends that's fine by me. I still have other goals to work towards and if I've helped complete 90% of a dungeon I'd rather see it finished off.

If a group is unpleasant then I would prefer to take a 30 minute penalty myself, "no reward is worth this". I just wish I could blacklist players from other servers, so many people I am forced to play with just because they are not on my server >.>.

Anyone even read the original post in this thread? This seriously needs to be addressed. I've been plagued by this before, as well. If you voted to kick them out, they shouldn't have any method to rejoin the group. Otherwise, what's the point of the kick? If you're against this, you're against vote kicking as a whole, and since vote kicking isn't going to go away, I don't even.

I've been apart of the "buddies duties". And yes I would find it gratifying to keep joining their group because I'm spiritbonding in level appropriate DoW or DoM gear.

Can be reported and investigated on a per instance basis. I believe the reference of this thread is those who are being abusive, not unfair dismissal.

I agree that this needs to be changed and as other people mentioned, for the time being until it is changed, waiting to search for members or vote abandon are your alternatives.

Yeah, I 5 min penalty for the person kicked should be mutually beneficial. That way itll lower the chance of a party seeing a kicked member and vice-versa

I disagree with the 5 minute penalty, people get kicked all the time by pre-made group for no reason, griefing, trying to steal gear, etc. and a penalty would hurt those people as well. Getting kicked and losing your progress in whatever you're doing is enough punishment in my opinion.

The group doesn't want you around. And sure YOU may be just fine and dandy but the majority of the instances where this behavior crops up the person being kicked NEEDS to stay gone for the good of the group.
I myself have had situations almost exactly as the OP describes (though we vote abandoned instead of having someone eat the penalty) so it IS a real issue.

Make it so if you are vote kicked
'Join in progress' is disabled for 30mins.

That's a terrible idea due to only needing 2 people to complete a kick(meaning if a group of 2 people who join together would be able to troll way too easily). Simply disabling the ability to join the specific instance you were kicked out of would be enough.

Had the same exact situation but with a healer who would join, afk at start, get kicked, then rejoin, then afk. We finally just called a GM and they removed them from the instance and put them in jail or something so they couldnt rejoin. Took 15 mins but had to be done.

just wait 5 mins to reopen he'll waste his 3 withdrawl limit hoping to troll out problem solved

As someone who has once, or twice, or many other instances sat in the captain's chair, I ask what you intend to do about those whom you accidentally kick from a party?

Now, before you ask "how the hell do you accidentally kick someone from the party?" I am actually going to explain that as I share a common habit that many, many other people do, when it comes to playing this game.

For the tl;dr version: Proceed to the end.

Although, be warned, it probably affects those of us on controllers more-so than those on keyboard and mouse. If you're using the new motion controls, well... I don't know how it affects you guys yet.

Explanation time! As a controller user, I am plagued with efficiency habits and goals. "I'm going to do 4 button presses in 1.5 seconds to select 3 duties and queue all of them at once simultaneously." Or some other common action we all do every day we play this game.

Controller scheme is all about efficiency, doing something the fastest way possible in the fewest button presses possible. Some reasons why include:

1. Limited hotbar options in terms of spaces to place commands, # of commands available versus # of commands usable. Advantages vs disadvantages of macros, etc.

2. Muscle memory. You "reflexively" do something with the right hand only, left hand only, or in combination between the two. (Example, L1 + R1 to create a flag point for coordinates on a map screen).

Now that I have that out of the way, here's how you can accidentally kick someone out of a party: The command to promote a member (as the new leader) and to kick a member (as in removing a false leader) are right next to each other.

Remember that thing I mentioned earlier ago about efficiency as a controller user? Habitual stuff we do to get around and be at all super combative with the game's needs and mechanics? Yeah... that. The muscle memory I mentioned earlier ago can cause you to second guess yourself instantly at any given moment. So you may know in your head something is 2 arrow presses upwards, but you might do 3 instead. Then all it takes is the trigger happy right thumb that presses confirm and selects the wrong option.

Boom, accidental prompt to confirm kick option, accidental confirmation because of a habitual trigger happy thumb that just loves pressing that button!

tl;dr:

Controller users and their muscle memory while trying to be as efficient as possible. Some habits will make them do things that they did not intend to do originally.

It quickly becomes a case of "your sex-ridden brain thought one thing," but, "your body wanted something else." Namely things like a trigger happy confirm-button pressing thumb.

Didn't tried before, but if a member trolls you on a duty, lets report him by petition (no kicking out) and wait if a GM comes to solve problem? As long as you are to wait anyway, you will wait for the good.

two sides to the story. The trolling goes both ways when it comes to the vote to kick feature. I've been a victim of it more times than ive had to use it, be glad there is even a vote to kick option.

As for my most memorable experience. Some random player i didnt even know, knows who i am because im in the same FC as someone he hates from the bottom of his heart. To hate someone simply because hes in the same FC as someone else you hate, illogical i know.

I got into a Frontline group and it put me in a party with players on my server that hate me on the premise of the above circumstances. So i get kicked after a bunch of out the blue smack talk about how everyone in my FC are complete dixx because he had a bad experience with 1 individual from my FC. Guess what i qued and got back into the same FL and party, they kicked me again. Then i got back in, this time they waited for the tally point to reach near completion before kicking me in an attempt to deny me of tomes, wolf marks, pvp exp and light i earned. Guess what i got back in 10 points until the instance ended. I had the last laugh. The best part. My GM report on the situation most likely got ignored despite the incriminating circumstances and evidence that an attempt to grief was orchestrated by abusing the vote to kick feature. So a system that would bar a kicked player from rejoining would have been abused under these circumstances.

The vote to kick feature is not a right, its a responsibility. Im sure theres plenty if not more players that have been victim to vote kick abuse than players that have actually benefited from it.

As others have said. Don't instantly search for a new member. You can do most of any dungeon without a tank or one dps. Especially the low level ones. Keep pushing to the boss and once you are there start a search again.

Last I checked once the first person leaves(however they leave) the penalty doesn't apply anymore to the rest of the group.

Thing is there are times when people can be kicked for no good reason other than trolling not saying that's what this is IV had my fill of this one too many times with scholars who just have fairy heal and be on follow not even dosing guy got bk in again and again.

And if that solution you agree with were to actually fix things, you'd still not be getting back into that group to pester them with your spiritbonding. If SE isn't going to make it so we can keep specific players from rejoining after being kicked, they need to remove the kick cooldown.

The system as it is works fine. It is rare to join back to the same run, and it seems this happens mostly to tanks for whatever reason.

I've experienced this scenario on both sides. I had a tank rejoin Haukke story mode and sit there until we vote abandon. I was healing that run and the tank ran ahead before even the protect and got killed and got mad at everyone else, and demanded that we all apologize for the tank dying which none of use was going to do.

On the flip side when I was learning to tank on my PLD while marking targets and pulling one at a time, I had a BLM and his friend trying speed run and grabbing aggro and then verbally harassed me and got off their 2 vote kicks in totorak, all the while claiming he was the better tank. I joined back twice and got even with them by making that BLM tank the rest of totorak in his level sync gear and prove that is the better tank, while I decided to do healing. Needless to say he gave up trying to tank at the final boss.

Players need to sort out the disputes themselves as much as they can. And the verbal abuse captured in the chat logs is evidence to be submitted to GMs for case when someone steps out of bounds.

They need to have a Blacklist for DF data centers. If you que up in DF you blacklist a player on your DF data centers. You don't que up with that player in DF ever again. So you get troll tank or healer in DF you can first blacklist and then kick that player you NEVER have to see that player again. This would drastically be less trolls and make DF US data centers playable

I think what they need to add is a list of reasons you have to select for vote kicking. Like when you select it, you have a choice of reasons like AFK, cheating, foul language, etc. just check a box.

How many times have i wanted a "i'm really sorry for this, but my (insert role), is completely incapable of getting through this content. We've TRULY tried to teach them, but have been thusfar after many wipes unable to get through to him/her" option.

Anyway, yeah. Foul language, AFK, harassment, racism/sexism, is a huge douchebag. Need those options. Heck, why not just a text field we fill in to explain why the person has been kicked.
