Wootz HQ (ilv110) melds, good set up

Im working on getting a set to gain that little extra push for Future raid attempts.

In the meanwhile, i've been messing around with ariyala's Toolkit to work out an
"optimal" stat build.

I wanna clarify that I am not going for a full DET/CRIT build even tho I am aware of FCoB's DPS checks(cause then not enough accuracy), but a more balanced set reaching what i believe would be desired overall stats.

Also, the accesories are what I currently have, this is not a BiS build, just a
"what if" set to work for raids in the meantime

Don't meld Crit over Det (Body, Hands, & Boots).

Melding +6 Parry is worthless (Body & Feet).

If this is for the character you're currently posting from, I wouldn't bother at all. Full i120 left side is better than i110 HQ unless you're trying to min/max DPS, which it doesn't seem like you are from how your post is worded. Secondary stats won't hold much value for you at this point.

If you want to invest in anything, I'd recommend the upcoming i110 crafted STR/VIT accessories as you'll get more value out of those than any of this.

After looking at the current prices on some materials, mainly det and crit, I decided to forego this build with a cheaper alternative. The reason melded parry and SS on the pieces I have was merely for the sake of pentamelding. Would've added for crit or det but I just didn't have the Gil for them. Working in making more Gil and testing my luck on some savage IV materials before I continue melding the rest.

And while what you say makes sense over the ilv120 gear being better than the crafted Ilv110 gear, the difference in damage say otherwise to me. I'll be finishing the melds with 300 -310 Det regardless, and I wont be sacrificing much HP in the end.

Sacrificing STR and VIT for secondaries on tank is wrong 100% of the time.

Sacrificing STR, yeah sometimes, depends on the secondaries. EG true ice bracelet of Striking (ilvl 120) weighs heavier than either of the 130 DPS bracelets. For Vit? depends on the encounter, our first t10 kill was when our WAR forgot to switch back to Vit accs. Theres a cut off point where stacking more Vit becomes irrelevant and better served boosting secondaries for "moar DEEPS" XD.

Pretty much only fight where you need every bit of HP as tank is t13.

If you look at the piece individually, sure, but as a part of a complete set of equipment, not necessarily.
If you use an i130 bracelet with accuracy, you can probably switch out another piece of accuracy equipment to one without accuracy.

e.g.
True Ice Bracelet of Slaying + Augmented Ironworks Earrings of Slaying = 44 str, 22 acc, 29 crit, 14 det
But if you replace the TI Bracelet with say, an Augmented Ironworks one and the earrings with Dreadwyrm : 46 str, 22 acc, 26 det, 15 ss
Still 22 accuracy, but higher total weighting.

Sacrificing ilvl is not a good idea.

I think you'll have much more luck when the ilvl 110 accessories are released (almost certainly later this month). In general left side pieces aren't missing enough that you'd get much of a boost, and dropping STR on all of them makes any sort of gains from secondaries even more difficult to achieve.

True Ice Bracelet of Slaying + Augmented Ironworks Earrings of Slaying = 44 str, 22 acc, 29 crit, 14 det = 54.91
Augmented Ironwork bracelet and the Dreadwyrm earrings = 46 str, 22 acc, 26 det, 15 ss = 57.286

Now True Ice Bracelet+dread earrings = 44 str, 29 det, 14 crit, 15 sks = 59.83

So yes, ilvl isn't the be all and end all depending on secondaries :) Thats calculated with MNK stat weights Other jobs will have a slight varience in results due to sks. For t10 to 12 I have enough accuracy to use that pair, for turn 13 I have to switch to Dread bracelet for the acc, Dread Bracelet weighs slightly higher than the aug ironworks one. Albeit when my ring finally drops I will have to switch to aug ironworks one for the increase in acc as will lose acc switching from second unauged ironworks ring to dread (already have one augmented ironworks ring).

Well supposably there wont be anymore 4 star recipes added as stated by Yoshi. So there may or may not be any ilvl 110 acc recipes, unless they intend to make them easier than the present 4 star recipes, but not long to find out XD

I said "STR and VIT". The only place where you sacrifice both for secondaries is left side armor, i.e. Wootz melds.

I think you missed the point of the comparison.

If you want to drop accuracy, there's room to play around on the left side as well. Almost every piece of IW with accuracy has a DW counterpart without it, and vice versa.

Because outside of coil accuracy isnt needed. Never said anything to drop accuracy, so I've no idea how you jumped to the wold conclusion, as I state I need to switch back to dread bracelet when we doing turn 13 for the accuracy and you do not need t13 accuracy for t10-12 so, if you have the gear why not switch it aruond to drop your acc for the lower turns to push out a bit more DPS? Thus I use true ice bracelet for t10-12 because Im still at accuracy cap for those turns, sooner stuff dies, more time we can get practicing t13. Also for t12 that extra DPS makes getting 4 Bennus much more comfortable.

But you missing the point that ilvl is not the be all and end all depending on itemisation with secondaries. Another example, my Zodicrack relic weighs higher than the augmented Ironworks due to secondaries, by jumping that extra 5 ilvls I would lose on DPS.

By your logic:

Yet the 120 weighs in 63.15 stat weight. The Dread, I don't need the accuracy so that is a non factor (already can cap for t13) weighs in at 56.798 stat weight. So yeah, my little number saying Ilvl would increase by (probably) 1, but my DPS would drop the equivalent of 9 STR. My effective HP with food is just under 6.8k so well past threshold for t13. That extra 2 def/mdef will not make any noticeable difference either.

Also I didn't miss the point of the comparison, you showed another option that does weigh more than true ice bracelet+ironworks earring, yet you missed a combination that I highlighted that weighs even more than both of the pairs you used. You used one paring to prove a opint without taking all combinations into the fat as the one I posted proves I am correct in this case ^_^

Trying to find it, pretty sure it was mentioned in one of the fan-fest Q&As. where they said they wont be adding anymore high difficulty crafting recipes but more medium difficulty ones instead.

Shiva Extreme would like to speak with you. Primal fights have started having relevant Accuracy caps since Leviathan. It's definitely needed outside of coil. The caps definitely aren't as high as the furthest point in Coil, but disregarding them in such a manner will lead to misses.

But you get to those caps easily enough without even focusing on accuracy.

You seriously do. I've gone through my gear several times now adjusting it to shuck off excess accuracy.

Tank gear has so much accuracy on it it isn't even funny.

You're right, it isn't funny when drops dictate I am not accuracy capped for T13 without dropping ilvl, even with the highest acc food in the game. Thankfully a week later fending hands dropped again to fix that issue, but I'm still acc starved on both BLM/SMN.

Your comment remains incorrect as a broad statement :)

As I said, for most 4 peeps content you have more than enough HP with just the left side, right side accessories you can switch out for DPS accs, which is a drop in Vit. Also, as striking version of true ice bracelet is 120, you will lose STR and VIT. But due to itemisation, you gain DPS over the 130 versions.
