Shouldn't he be banned for this? I mean clearly he is cheating the system. I wish something would be done about this...

all i see is a train of lalas....
A train of lalas that dont' respond to anything, have peculiar names, and all follow Mars Length.
what, the rmt train or pink coatee ?
In the second case, it's called model swap and isn't cheating at all
in the first, yes they should be banned for rmt
I don't see a pink coatee anywheres lol
Rather the first case. I doubt Lina Lux, aka DeadRiser, is asking us if he should be banned or not. And as far as i know, there isn't any model swapping involved.
And yes, RMTs should be banned for this, but i doubt SE is doing much against RMTs at this point.
no evidence that they are RMT. Move along.
You must be new here! <3 In FFXI we had alliances of 18 level 18 characters with no subs forming a train to farm Yagudo Necklaces in Giddeus. I don't think a one of them got punished until they were actually caught botting.
More importantly: Who's buying gil for FFXIV? The stuff rains like candy from the sky as it is. You get gil just for doing the things that get you Exp/Sp and treasure: Behest, Leves and Raids. It's like you get paid to level up.
Is it weird that they have obscure names and follow 1 guy all of the time? Yes, but your pic ONLY shows that they have obscure names and are following him for a moment. Is it weird that none of them respond? No. I don't respond to half of the people that try and talk to me. Why? Because if I don't know you and I'm busy, I'm not going to take time out of my day to entertain you.
What I was saying in the other thread and in this thread is that your screenshots prove nothing because a picture can't show anything illegal unless it is CLEARLY RMT activity such as shouting stuff like "FFXI GIL -Content was edited by Moderator due to violation of Forum Guidelines- $12/1MIL" THAT is RMT activity. While the actions in your SS are odd, they offer no real indication of RMT activity.
ALSO, not all bots are RMT and not all RMT bot. Just to clear that up...
Dubont you shouldnt post rmt sites here.
Honestly RMT going about is one of the big reasons why it looks like my server isn't completely dead yet.
I don't know why people complain so much. Because of the wards economy is broken anyway I don't see RMT being that big of a problem to the game that dealing with it should be considered a priority.
If anything their presence should make SE remove the gameplay hindrances they implemented for everyone that were designed to block RMT.
The OP never said it was RMT. Nor did he/she say they were bots of any sort. For all we know, it could be a player multi-boxing on a single console (which is possible) and leve linking. This can be done for raising gil for himself or RMT, we dont' know. Maybe this person is power leveling these mules...
The question at hand is not whether this is RMT or botting. It is whether or not the nature of these actions is legal or a bannable offense. Is multi-boxing and levelinking mules playing within the intentions of the game's developers?
It really has nothing to do with RMT at this point.
Looks like a regular Darkhold PT
Multi-boxing is not illegal. Most if not all MMORPG doesn't state anywhere in their policy that you can only register and play one single account. It's like you can only open one single bank account, or own only one set of clothes.
i agree it looks kinda rmt-ish, saw the same stuff on gysahl but you cant do anything unless you catch them red-handed
They are on every server, they are RMT, there is nothing you can do about it other than report them ingame, by which time they would have teleported away.
I saw a group of them standing around a camp doing nothing while magically ranking up super fast lol (someone obviously killing stuff while they were in the party)
Why do people care so much about this? Money is stupid easy to get it's not like they're ruining you from farming.
If it's one dude multi-boxing: if he wants to pay for half a dozen copies of the game, then half a dozen sub fees when it goes p2p then more power to him. He's going to be insignificant anyway.
If it's RMT: You simply have no hard proof. SE can't ban on vaguely interpretable screen shot. How would you feel if SE perm banned your account because some random person took a shady screenshot that was misinterpreted?
The way they've screwed DoL levelling is a bad enough measure against RMT. I won't even play the classes.
Why do RMT even exist for this game. Are they stock piling the gil for a rainy day or something? I can't imagine anyone actually going out of their way to buy virtual currency for this game at this point in time, hell there isn't even much to buy or much reason to buy it the way stats work. That and it's fairly easy to afford just about anything if you do your leves.
Anyone who supports/defends anything even remotely related to or suspicially RMT-looking is considered a gil-buyer and should be banned on the spot. SE should not take chances with this. Ban anyone who thinks this "Lala train" is not RMT, because clearly those people are RMT supporters (gil-buyers) as this is so OBVIOUSLY an RMT train heading to it's next destination. Anyone who's ever played another MMO should know this.
SE please bring forth the ban hammer. Without people buying gil, the sellers have no one to sell to. Thus ends RMT.
@all the people who are like "who cares about rmt? gil rains from the sky and MW suck..."
ever think about how many millions and millions of gil they have aquired since launch? What happens if this game is fixed so that gil isn't as easy to come by, or with the introduction of new craftable items, new materia system, new players. You dont think anyone will want any gil in this game?
In the long run I see this as being a problem
First of all... Posting a live URL to a known RMT site. Brilliant. /sarcasm
Secondly, I have to concur with what was stated.. You do seem to become awful defensive when ever someone brings up the topic of RMT, going off on lectures of "what RMT is and isn't", etc.
Why are you so quick and eager to lawyer up and defend what others are doing when it comes to that particular topic?
And you always bring it back to "what you do"... almost like you feel the need to justify and explain your own behavior, even when your own behavior isn't what's being called into question. Guilty conscience?
Anyone who's spent more than, say, a few months playing a MMO with active RMT in it has seen those character trains and can very safely guess exactly why they're there and what purpose they serve. To try and dismiss it because "they're not doing anything illegal right that moment" is really rather disingenuous. I'm sure we all know exactly in what context the OP asked their question. You're the one trying to make it about 'what they're doing right that second', completely ignoring the larger point being made.
The saying, "the lady doth protest too much, methinks", seems to bear relevance to your posts on this topic. Question is... why so defensive?
every time someone brings this up people deny what it really is, and this is why they get away with it. SE asks that you report any suspicious activity, and they will look into it. This classifies as suspicious, so report it and move on ;p
It is some person doing extreme multi-boxing, but there isn't any evidence that they are botting or RMTing. They have the Taru/lala armies on Karnak too. And they cant start banning for multi-boxing. They've already been reported long ago as suspicious. . .
i have an identical screen shot of this on my server, ill post it when i get home.
I sat there and watched the leader launch leves and then 2 or 3 lalas would launch leves after him but they would never move. 5-10 minutes later the guy would come back and the same thing over again.
The main guys name was just a bunch of letters like, jgkr sksiew and all the lalas had similar names. I tried to send him tells but he wouldn't answer.
i know that this is not the hard evidence that SE want so they should make rules against the number of accounts a player can be logged into at once.
IMO multiboxing shouldn't happen. You are gaining max amount of gil that can later be sold as RMT and whatnot. I mean your techniquely cheating the game using 6 other characters to get yourself gil, items, ect.
That isn't actual proof though. STF can't do jack unless they catch them in the act.
alright here is my take on this RMT lala crap.
This is a company (SE) who has the right to ban anyone they
think as suspicious. This is not the US Supreme Court where you
are only charged with the crime that you were caught in.
It's a game. If they feel it is RMT actions (which, no duh it is)
then they can and most likely eventually will ban/delete the accounts within question.
People's logic on here is straight backwards.
So if somebody came and stole your stuff and you called the police
and the police came to your house and said,
"well, we didn't see anyone do it. There's that suspicious guy standing over there with a big bag. Hmmm. Owell, we didn't see him do it though so no point in questioning him"
Why so defensive? Ok, I'll tell you why. People are making accusations and basically raising the pitch forks without any real proof. Is this behavior odd? Yes, but there is absolutely NO PROOF in this SS that this group is RMT related and even less proof that they are bot related. Posts like these are what create games like FFXIV at launch. Everything in the game was an anti-rmt/ anti-bot measure and look what happened. Here we are a year after launch and a lot of those "limitations" are still in place and a lot of players have left while the RMT and botters (2 different categories of players btw)are still here. People are QQ about RMT obviously haven't played very many MMOs and they are the ones that are the cause of game flops like this one. Stop the QQ and live with it. They are everywhere and you're crying isn't going to do anything other than cause SE to make more freaking mini-games for everything that RMT and botters can just pixel-farm and be ok with it.
tldr: This SS proves nothing and the pointless crying needs to stop since it does nothing but cause games to be released with a score of 4.0
This nonsense of condemning people as RMT, bots or both for not responding to other players is ridiculous.
If you conclude that based on the circumstantial evidence you have that someone may be a RMT or a bot then the correct course of action is to document your circumstantial evidence and submit it to the STF. These public forum lynch mobs of popular opinion based on a screen shot, a silly series of names, and a lack of responses to a player come self-appointed RMT investigator are not the appropriate venue for your grievances against others real or perceived. They also contribute nothing to the community discussions about the state of the game and don't even qualify as amusing trolling.
All MMOs have RMT and bots. It is an ongoing issue (in general) and the respective MMO companies have appropriate channels through which to funnel complaints and comments on the issue; this ain't it.
P.S. Dubont damn you for basically saying what I said while I was proof reading my post lol. <3
but why? It is not against the TOS in any way shape or form. It is perfectly legal, within the bounds of the game and it's rules, to run multiple accounts at once. This is not a bannable offense and should not be as there is absolutely no reason to do it other than to prevent RMT. SE tried to make a game that was anti-RMT...it got a 4.0 and flopped horribly...
