Duty finder penalty for withdrawing is annoying.

The penalty for withdrawing 3 times from a duty has become nothing more than a nuisance. Every time I am in a group and the leader withdraws other people in the party seem to get the penalty. I have also encountered the penalty from withdrawing while the group is being formed. Its time for it to go.

Seems the problem is on your end, not in the system.

3 times, think about it.

3 TIMES before the penalty is apply.

The fact that you are still getting the penalty reinforces the need for it. You are wasting other people's time, you lose your privileges for a bit.

They announced they were looking to remove the full party withdraw penalty.

Accepting the queue pop as tank for low level roulette then leaving the dungeon incurs the same penalty as hitting withdraw 3 times.

One is not the same as the other, yet both is a 30 min lockout. So no, the withdraw penalty needs a serious rework.

I don't understand your reasoning. What's wrong with two different infractions resulting in the same penalty?

I'm not sure which one is worse

The one that wastes the 2hr queue for dps on low level roulette is worse, obviously, since they are now stranded in a dungeon and a tank may never join, as opposed to being inconvenienced for 45 seconds but still having their place in queue.

If the leader of the party withdraws, the only people who will get the penalty are those who have already had two withdrawals in the past 24 hours. You'll get one strike otherwise.

And yes, I have personally tested this.

Also, you don't get a penalty for withdrawing while the group is being formed or before the duty has popped.

I've had someone withdraw from queue costing me much longer than 45 seconds, plus it takes 3 times for the penalty. 1 withdraw has cost me well over 10 minutes before getting the full party to have a 2nd withdraw on a few occasions. You're not stranded in the dungeon for 2 hours, you can leave without penalty if the party isn't full and requeue.

You don't lose your place in queue if someone hits withdraw.

You definitely lose your place in queue if the tank leaves from the dungeon and you have to leave and requeue.

Which part of this is unclear or doesn't make sense?

Actually you do lose your place a little. While your party is waiting for full confirmation, the next group starts to fill up. So if you're a dps, it's not uncommon for 4 more dps to go ahead of you, and you need to wait for that group to fill up, then 2 more tanks and healers. For things like EX primals, this can be well over 10 minutes.

A RC doesn't prevent someone from withdrawing. I have also gotten the penalty for zero reason; did not leave a duty and did not withdraw on the popup. My guess is it takes a few seconds for the popup after the party is formed, withdrawing during that time gives you a strike. This can be seen by clicking on Duty status in the quest log.

The main purpose of it was to get rid of DF trolls, just put a 30 minute CD on the strikes or get rid of it.

They both waste time. Maybe you don't see it because you have 10 seconds queues but it's not fun to sit there watching queue pop then watching somebody withdraw over and over because they want a run in progress. People abusing withdraw is the whole reason this penalty exists and the only ones complaining are the ones who want to abuse withdraw.

After doing dungeons for a full two days the amount of times this happened was staggering.

OP opinion is valid. I have two small children, and a moments notice one will waking up crying (I play after bedtime). I must immediately go AFK to attend to the child.
Why should my need to withdraw from the duty affect the other members of my party? In my opinion, it should only be a strike against me, not my party members.

I'm going to add that the penalty is rather stupid when the instance is already in progress. I queued up for Shiva ex. I joined. There were 3 people, not a full party. So I left as I couldn't get a vote disband going due to people go afk. I leave for like 15 minutes and try again. The instance was STILL in progress. So I withdrew. Tried out another trial and it was also in progress so I withdrew that and was hit with a 30 minute penalty. Really a shame I get penalized due to other people wasting time.

Thanks. I never really saw that, or paid attention to it. Could have replied without all those evil ellipses though :( As you can see I don't complain if at all. I didn't mean to be annoying or anything.
