Shantotto expansion in ff14 or mini add-on would you play it yes or no! :)

hey guys just another fun thread to get some discussion going :), So question is: would you like to see shantotto back in the world or Eorzea? Meaning a full updated look to her in a full or mini expansion with a lot more story line to it and not that fate bs we did, I mean a real expansion. Just off her popularity in ff11 from eastern and western players being really high I honestly think people would really buy and play the expansion I know I would. Giving her a updated lalafel look I wonder how she would look in ff14, any idea's? or story line idea's you guys can come up with.

I think story would continue off the interdimensional storyline and even going farther with it: meaning her using a interdimensional rift machine ripping a hole back over into our dimension and her maybe trying to merge Eorzea and vana'diel together with she would be supreme ruler over it :). Just an idea tell me what you guys think.

If it leads into vanity gear sets modeled after more of XI's iconic Artifact armors, then yes! Well maybe not the 'supreme ruler' thing, Altana knows that little egomaniac's head is big enough

No. just no. Even ignoring the fact I never liked that insane taru in FFXI (and this coming from a patriotic Windurstian), and was always cynical about SE putting her on such a pedestal when there were far better npcs in FFXI they could have used, fanservice for fanservice's sake adds nothing to the game other than cheapening the whole thing.

The short-term FATE and connected quest as part of the crossover celebrations of FFXI's eleventh anniversary was enough. Keep Shantotto in Vana'diel where she belongs!

But shes already more then that just look at the name of the BLM soul stone or there relic! Or most of the back story behind black mage sorry but shes every were if you are a BLM! She is more routed into the world then many NPC's that live there already!

I would really like for ffxiv to not slip into the worthless mini-expansion phase like ffxi did... Especially with one of the worst ffxi npcs that for some reason people like.

Want a cameo that is worth something?... Maat, Ranperre R d'Oraguille, Zeid... Hell even Prishe would be better than Shantololo.

As much as I like Shantotto, it wouldn't make much sense for her to get a big focus in XIV. In XI it makes sense, though arguably that was still kind of odd, but in XIV I can't see it happening. That being said though I wouldn't be surprised if she were to show up again.

While I don't think I'd mind some Shantotto content in XIV again, I'd prefer to see her as a Tarutaru, not a Lalafell. Since they are, technically, different species.

If they made a Shantotto mini expansion, I wouldn't just not play it, I'd unsub. She's been rammed down my throat these last 7 years, I am NOT going to put up with her crap again.

They already made A Shantotto Ascension for FFXI that was enough of her to last forever.

Might want to look closer the stone is not named after her, Gem of Shatotto

I've been playing XI since 2006 (and still do) and honestly don't really get the frenzy over Shantotto, I'm not even sure why she got a place in Dyssidia or let alone her own add-on mini-expansion. There's so many more charismatic characters in that game. I don't think she should earn her own expansion on XIV, buuuuut another event, sure why not?

My only request is that the next time, instead of a crappy minion, we get rewarded with the Race Starting Equipment from FFXI instead. Just imagine those male Miqo'tes in the Mithran loincloth...

The soulstone is definitely named after her. It might not be the same name, but it's kind of silly to act as though it's all a coincidence. And she was in Dissidia because, at least as far as I recall, that was who the people from XI suggested. They were looking for someone from XI to add, and she was suggested because she's immensely popular.

This may shock you, but Yoshida said FFXIV ARR will be a fan service title. Them switching FFIII's lore but reusing EXACT LORE BASED AREAS and even throwing in the CASINO FROM FFVII kind of kills this argument. "Oh it's ok because in FFXIV it's Allagan! Just ignore that all of these bosses existed in FFIII and were connected heavily to the world. Oh and are also dead despite me saying any dead characters or bosses won't show up as it would ruin their story."

I'd definitely play it, all FF worlds are connected in some fashion and ARR much more so considering it's a fan service title and even 1.x's lore on Atomos mimicks XI's to the extent he can open rifts between worlds.

I would definitely not really for gear but just for a decent mini storyline as we wait for expansion day. I honestly think it would be fun but if she ever came back to Eorzea please SE will it kill you to give her a updated look and get rid of the dated graphics from ff11!

Agreed. Shantotto when first introduced was a troublesome crone that sort of helped the story along (Windurst story). That was fine because she was sort of comparable to the witch Matoya (sans the dragon boyfriend or the revelation of where earthquakes come from). I didn't have an issue with her until she was crowbarred into more storylines and then turned into the queen bitch of black magic.

Fanservice, yes. But they change them to fit the world.
So Shantoto would be a Ul'dah Lalafell and a republican or royalist.

Nope. I'm tired of seeing XI NPCs because I'm fairly sick of the player being used as a jobber for every other one in CSes, when we're at the point in that game where I should be able to tap them on the head with a twig and cause them to explode in a shower of gibs.

Just put the damn Shantotto in ARR already so people stop asking for her every month and then maybe we can focus on developing some new actually interesting NPCs and their story lines.

The next time Shantotto travels through the void with her magic some enemies escape from her world to eorzea and it's up to you to stop them from terrorizing the Coerthas and the Heavensward.

You're right, they're obviously naming the gem after the Shatotto Architects company...

It's obvious the BLM stone is named after Shantotto. They removed the "n" only to make the name more Lalafellin-naming-conventions-friendly.

I agree that the Thaumaturge from the Fifth Astral Era is named in reference to Shantotto from FFXI, but they aren't one in the same. Much like how Doga and Unei from the Crystal Tower story are named after characters from FFIII, but they aren't literally the same characters.

I assume the N was dropped to avoid confusion when the Tarutaru herself visited Eorzea.

I don't argue that, just that the BLM Soul Gem is not referencing to her as Wobble was saying.

With allll that being said, I've already given my 2-cent about her future involvement with Eorzea, so /tiphat..!
