Why are ppl so mad about this the cash you use will make the game a better place and are people really in shock about this? When SE said cash shop i was almost 100% marriage be a cash shop thing why? Because its fluff nothing that you need for getting stronger in game on top of that there's a free ver for having a wedding so if you want the mount n such pay up or don't SE makes it up to the players and at least it's not a 38 or 200mill crap like other add on hate it love it oh well deal with it cash shop is here to stay

If the premium wedding stuff were obtainable in game, with the ability to speed things up by using the cash shop. (10m gil vs 15$) I'd be on board with this. But this is unacceptable because it sets a precedent.
Do you want everything that isn't a raid have a free and a cash shop version? What if they add a new housing area that is exclusive to the cash shop? What if its flying mounts?
They could have made an epic story for us to go through to discover Odins secrets and end up with the mount after we battle him, but instead we have to pony up cash to get it.
Makes me feel like like my monthly sub is wasted. -

I did not care for the wedding itself, this was the only way to get a 2 person mount free. They were advertising the chocobo as something they were adding for everyone not just cash shop users, technically there was no cash shop at the time they announced it. Now there is no way to get a free 2-person mount so therefore I don't count it as extra fluff at all.

What even is the great advantage of a 2-seater mount? It's a convenience, yes, but an extremely small one.
Besides, I was kind of under the impression that the "paid" version of the wedding is only cosmetic. It's still the same quests and useful reward; the ring that lets you teleport immediately to your in-game spouse, which is still not -that- big of game changer. The best that does is save you some change and a few moments of sprinting.
Don't you guys remember that this wedding thing is really just an RP thing, right? -

I've yet to see a pay to win item in the cash shop. Until then, I can't complain. All these services are optional, since you can still get married, but not receive the items. They don't give any advantage at all, as some users already stated. If they can make profit and increase the amount of content being released out of COSMETIC stuff, which are completely optional and don't break the game's balance over the players that won't pay a penny for it... I don't see any problem. At all.

I've always felt that my sub paid for new Story and new Raids, along with the gear that comes from those. Given that a lot of the Sub fee goes to Server maintenance, Not as much as you think goes to profit. The cash shop allows SE to make random things between patches, but also allows us players to go the extra mile to support the game. XIV is one of few games with a cash shop that also pushes out large content patches fairly regularly.
WoW patches are 6+ months apart, and contain less than what we've gotten in patches despite being Sub+Cash Shop. -

Like for example there's tons of 1 seating mounts, minions, glamour so I dont care too much when they put it in the cash shop. I didnt even mind the retainers, since everyone can get their two free ones which are exactly the same. But if they did something like say put the flying mounts cash only there might be a problem. Get what I mean? Also they made it seem like the chocobo was going to be a freebie, so it was misleading (There was no cash shop when he was talking about weddings now he just sprung it on us). Having said that I haven't seen any official English notes about it yet, so im waiting to see.Quote:

if we will get marriage with x.1 you can buy it with cash shop and with x.2 you can marriage for free. This is smart, but also a bit tricky because it only works when they never stop developing "new" things, which means for x.2 they already need something new to preview.

Currently we can buy it from cash shop, but we already know there is an Odin Primal fight added in system (seen on fan fest and datamining), maybe we will get that fight with a nice story and then it "can" drop after beating him...
