T9 is solo-cueable on DF now right?

So does that mean I could skip T6-8, clear T9 and move stright into T10?

I never had the chance to test the idea with T5 because I had clear the 1st 4 trying to gear up for it. But in this situation I've got full Ilvl 110 gear, colecting the 120 gear, AND my stats for Dragoon are already optomized to face T9.

So is there really any point to do T6-8 now that I can solo cue Second Coil via the DF?

I did try T6 in DF, tought was impossible to fail now with those nerfs even if I had like 2-3 noob... hum I mean, new players in my party.
But it went so bad... not even reach the last phase.
I dont wanna try T9 in DF, or maybe to troll and laugh.

Even PFing t9 is an exercise in patience....every person in the party wanting different 2nd meteor strats. That one person who joins a P4+ practice group but get's hit by 1st dynamo....list goes on. I've had some rare groups that made it to p3 from PF, but then half the team gets 1 shot by heavensfall.....

T9 is pretty much what convinced me to finally join a static. It isn't hard or anything, but it really is a fight where you really want everyones progression at about the same point, or risk shattering some blood vessels lol....

Hmm, looks like I'm screwed then. I moved to Zodiark from Balmung and in the week I've been there I've yet to see a single Party Finder group. Or a whole lot of other players for that matter.

I cleared turn 6 in duty finder, multiple times. Currently at about a 50% success rate. The failed runs come from people rage quitting because they rush in and don't make it clear to everyone what's going on. Then they throw a fit because people didn't know what to do. I still don't understand why the elitists, with their low tolerance for failure, would queue up in DF. People need a chance to learn. Not everyone learns at the same pace. I think I've had 1 turn 6 DF run where we nailed it on the first try. All the other clears had wipes. After each wipe, we discussed the problems, people learned and we eventually won.

I queue up for T9 DF fun every so often. If nothing else it's learing and better understanding of the fight. Best I've seen from DF T9 was on happys stream where they got to like 40% or so. So far all I've managed to get to was second set of golems(if you can call a rampaging golem while other rocks drop down) the second set.

yes, that's why, when someone begin to rage after the first wipe " dont act so ", and I asked them to stay for 3 tries.
That's what we did. (maybe 4, dont remind)
Then I left we the feeling that I did my duty and make proof of enough patience.

This happens quite alot. I remember lots of DF EX primal fights and the few coil I DF'd where I'd run into elitists that assumed everyone knows what to do. And in certain instances where I know the fight, I STILL ask the party before we begin (whether the soldiery message pops up or not) "Does everyone know what to do? Have you seen a guide? Have fight xp? or need direction?

The elitist (which usually are fairly easy to spot, basically the person that dismisses my questions before we proceed, says this is easy, then they pull, we wipe, they call everyone noobs and never take any fault for pulling when the team is not ready).

All my wipes were due to awful DPS. Seriously I had a smn that never used bio or bio 2, and his opener was 8 ruin 2 in a row. People got giddy with joy that SCoB is some pug derpfest now and truly awful players are queuing and failing DPS checks with echo and 2.4 gear, it's really funny to watch. People are still going to be stuck on this and only prove that the easier you make something, the worse people will play.

Also i'll add, I have no expectations when I do anything in DF but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it like people enjoy watching a train wreck.

Empressia actually has a very valid point, but maybe not articulated/elaborated it properly. Yes, you can go staight to turn 9, but you will miss out on the skills/experience gained from doing turns 6-8 many many many times. Learning how to react properly in those turns will give you far more chance to pass turn 9 than being full i100 without that experience.

I know I lvl 100+ didn't help me even a little in T5. As far as skill goes, I can never tell if it's me or not. Peope yell "Watch the vids Noob!" and no video made ever uses the stratagy that's being used. Having no FC and by extention no static means I might as well forget about coil and finish my other classes.

If there aren't PF up for what you want to do, set one up yourself.

And yes technically you can DF into Turn 9. Good luck actually getting a clear that way. I won't doubt it can happen - I've done T6/7 in DF (but those are comparatively vastly simpler), and I know EX Primals (including Thornmarch which can be a nightmare) have been cleared in DF... but it's extremely unlikely simply due to the frequency with which you will get people who are clueless.

If you're "not sure if it's me or not", it's probably you. When you know the fight well enough to understand properly what's going on you'll be able to tell when you're screwing it up or not. Turn 6+ all require a lot of knowledge on top of being good at your class; Turn 9 in particular is like five completely separate fights with several ways for everyone to die because one person screwed up.

As for videos? Yeah, maybe the exact strategy has changed, but you know what? If you actually understand the fight's mechanics, you can adapt very very easily to whatever new strategy is being proposed when you ask your team 'how are we handling this'. Use videos as a launching point to get an idea of what these things look like and what might be expected of you. They're no substitute for firsthand experience, but they do make a drastic difference in how quickly you'll learn.

Can I ask why so many people are willing to experience endgame content but at the same time are reticent to join FC and / or statics?

I keep seeing people like that on the forums and I honestly don't understand.

In my case, I'm not part of a static because my job hours are wholly unpredictable, and for a lot of people that's what real life looks like. It's not that there aren't times to play, but having those times line up in a predictable manner is another issue entirely.

For FCs, there's usually two types. One type of FC is super relaxed and casual and can be full of perfectly competent players - but chances are only a handful are even pushing second coil and most EX Primals, nevermind final/savage coils, and if they are it's with a static with people outside the FC (This is my FC). The other type are endgame focused but are usually an FC solely dedicated to that - and you'll get dropped the moment you're no longer able to meet static hours or not up to snuff in performance etc., which is just an environment a lot of people don't like being in the rest of the time they're not endgame raiding (These are the FCs I've seen many more hardcore friends on other servers deal with)

I also fall into this category. My working hours are unpredictable to the point that most of the time I don't even know what days off I have from work in 2 weeks time let alone if I'm working through the middle of the night or the morning/afternoon. I would rather not inconvenience anyone with this so stick to playing solo.

Two FC mates and myself went into a DF for t9 the other night. Ended up with 3 ninjas, 2 plds, a drg, sch, and whm... Didnt think we would get anywhere. Actually got to 30 percent on the second try. When down hill from there from the drg disconnecting mid fight. All in all, if you go into t9 on DF be prepared for some crap to happen, be open minded to new strats, and make sure you at least communicate your strats.

I join T9 farm groups all the time and most are moderately successful.

Gear only makes the tank/heal/dps checks easier to achieve.

The main problem though with DF etc is that how they are designing the fights is that there are very very very very very very very many mechanics that will 1 shot you or nearly 1 shot you regardless of what gear you have. Sure T9 is super easy for people that have cleared it 50-100 times now but new players still have to go through every normal learning curve even despite having better gear than we did at the start.

I disagree though, doing T6-8 first won't really assist him beating T9... each fight has its own mechanics, amount of mechanics, coordination etc that are all different. He's probably better off just starting at 9 and working at it until he understands, the thing is that 9 has the MOST things you need to know to beat it though and most mechanic failures in T9 cause party wipes where in 6-8 they (mostly) won't.

Just DF and see how it goes, but don't have an ego and be willing to admit when you make mistakes.

Queued for Turn 9 in DF in order to learn, was matched with players with HA weapons and knew what to do. We would have cleared if it wasn't for me, lol.
