Why would they nerf Ninajs?
Lots of skeptical forum threads and paranoia have led me to believe a nerf was coming, just like every single patch in the past and future to come :)
Mnk dmg has been proven to be higher than Nin's, time and time again..
However Drg does need that buff, it's lowest of the 3 melee's and brings the least to the table in terms of utility.
You guys are derps. MNKs do more dps not more alpha damage (Raw Damage) Both NINs and DRGs have higher potency attacks over MNK. What makes mnk's dps high is their derp stacks that makes them attack more often.
NiN gets same effect from Huton(2s GCD in pve gear and less than 2s in pvp ^^)minus dmg boost but that comes from those two venom "stances" and iirc it just gives 4% less than mnk version. But if SE needs the feel to nerf nin's at somepoint they should just tweak numbers in said venoms, it would imo be easier than going trought all skills and nerf their potencies.
Buffs, nerfs, whatever, you probably won't see big changes until 2.45.
^ Not everybody has the same vision quality. Many players have a hard time with the icons.
If you look at the icons for a prolonged period directly then yes, it's easy to differentiate between the two. However, in battle you're going to constantly be checking back on your status effects as well as other parts of your UI and not to mention the actual battle. As a result, it's common that players including myself have to rely on our peripheral vision to determine our next action within a split second. For example, on DRG when I see a white and purple icon lowering in single digit values, this indicates that I need to execute a disembowel + chaos combo soon for my next rotation. I don't look exactly for the pink petals or the shape of the spiked man in each icon, it's faster for me to differentiate based on color. The ninja icons share blue and purple color palettes which are difficult to differentiate. Mutilate is much easier since it's the only ninja icon that is green.
You're correct, and that's the problem. Certain fights are great for Monk, fight's where you aren't disconnect from the boss especially, but Monks have one huge caveat:
To keep up the damage they do, they have to keep their Greased Lightning 3 up as much as they can and not let it fall off, and with how much SE likes to make bosses "jump", that can be very hard.
Ninja has none of these challenges, infact, when they jump, you can reapply Huton if it's needed. Add in that it has one positional attack (Dancing Edge, is not, the Skill Description is wrong), 10% Buff to everyones damage for 10s per minute, Goad is incredbily helpful, certainly up there with Mantra and the -10% Int from DK, and the AOE Ninja has is better than monks, the class is incredibly good.
In other news, no buffs to the poor DRGs being left out in the cold, :(
I reckon healers must have one hell of a DPS then... all that aggro that they generate... it's simply insane! NERF HEALER DPS NOW!!111ONEONE
I don't see my ninja making any more damage than a monk... what are you on about? More aggro =/= more DPS. SE may have placed rogue/ninja aggro on a higher tier (like healers), that's all.
Before anyone says "I see no ninja on your list"; I can change the char that appears as main on the forum and let's see if I have a ninja or not. Not everyone pops every class into the same character.
If I recall correctly no class in the past has never been nerfed unless it was super broken. So no worries about Ninja.
Sorry, this isn't Guild Wars 2, nerfing one class does not some how buff another. If anything, that nerfs entire parties since they can no longer do as much as they once could in content. Stick with waiting for your buffs sir, you don't want the entire community despising DRGs just because they led to NIN getting nerfed.
You wont be getting nerfed and I don't know why people were expecting a change in a x.x1 patch.
IF for whatever reason you're getting nerfed it will be during a x.x5 or x.x8 patch.
But as I stated that will probably not happen.
They are going to increase DRG's potencies to make them the burst melee they should be and move on.
Just make Dragoons able to cross class skills with Rogues instead of Marauders, utility problem solved. Think about it. You get Perfect Dodge AND Goad (and Death Blossom, but nobody cares about 60 potency AOE). You just gotta hit that perfect dodge before hitting jump. 8D
People had a hard time telling the difference between Shadow Fang and Dancing Edge? o_o
I never confused those two.
glad to see ninjas didnt get a nerf after all. Was hoping drg would get their buffs tho
I can see how they'd be confusing (especially for console players who're likely to be further from their monitor), but what I don't get is why people needed to get confused by them...
The only icon I ever check for is "Has the Warrior put Storm's Eye up?", other than that Ninjas rotation is such that I never really needed to check if Shadow Fang/Mutilate/Dancing Edge were wearing off beyond initially learning the Job.
Not exactly. You can have classes that are overpowered across levels of content. In this case a nerf to the strong would be a buff to the weak.
Example: PLD vs WAR in 2.0 -> 2.1, SE could have given only a slight buff to war and then brought PLD down to the level they raised WAR to. Would have had the same effect as straight buffing WAR. And WARs had cleared all 2.0 content in 2.0 so don't say it would have ruined everything and we'd all be stuck on caduceus.
This patch wasn't for class changes.
Just wait til 2.45. Drg buffs and NIN nerfs are still incoming
I seem to recall when WAR cleared t5 back then they got no praise, but their healers sure did. And it was only the best of the best WAR who ran coil in the best statics then since no one else would take them.
WAR were beyond broke back then. A slight buff and a nerf to Pld would not have had the same effect.
