What ability would you like to see added for your Job in the Expansion? (theorizing)

For a BLM, I'd like to see...

Trait

Assured Cast: Able to cast the next spell through interruptions, while moving.

Double Cast: Swiftcast now allows you to instant cast twice in a row; first spell outside of GCD.

Deep Freeze: Blizzard casts now have a 20% chance to apply the Deep Freeze status on yourself. The next fire spell cast will deal 40% more damage.

Abilities:

Oil (Off-GCD): Places a debuff on the enemy that increases Fire Damage dealt by 10%

Burst: Deals AoE thunder damage and subsequently places them with the Thunder debuff.

Penance: Deals major fire aspected damage to enemies under 20% of health. Off GCD. Places Astral 3 on user.

EDIT: I'd also like to see us get an ability similar to Quelling that, you know, works better lol. Maybe something similar to Shroud of Saints from WHMs

You are now tanking.

Burst is also godlike. I want that.

Well, the tradeoff would be that at most, you'd only have an Astral Fire 1 up, so your Flare would be mitigated compared to a full Astral Flare.

Why would "Deep Freeze"ing yourself increase Fire potency?

umm... umm...uhhh...

Ninja already has everything! Maybe a threat reducer? lol.

For WHM an ability that make my next cast AoE.

Please no. I'm using Swiftcast almost exclusively for Thunder 2/3 and doublecasting this is pointless.

What I would like to see in the next expansion?

Prefer two off-GCD abilities like Manawell (for the next 15 seconds, your spells cost no mana. High cooldown, such as 3 minutes) or an "You can cast up for the next 10 seconds while you move"-Ability.

While not a specific skill or ability, I would like to see something similar to WoW gear set bonuses for all jobs. Perhaps for BLMs something one that makes your firestarter crits place a dot on the target for the damage over x secs.

Summon Carbuncle.

I'd like to see Summoner pets make more of an impact...

I'd give up Ruin or Ruin II, or both if done right.. If it made Summoner pets feel more like Summons of old, as of right now the Summoner job feels insanely similar to a Warlock in WoW (which is probably what they are aiming for lol).

I really liked the play style of summoners in FF11, where it felt like you were actually controlling a pet that was more powerful than you were, and you had to manipulate it to do your bidding.

I would think it would be nice to have some sort of group buff based on what Summon is out... (Garuda gives +5% spell/skill speed, Ifrit gives a fire shield, Titan +5% to all resistances, or whatever).

I'd also like to see a new Summoner Limit Break, "Divine Intervention", where your Egi becomes the full fledged primal for a limited amount of time.

More summons would be nice as well. Carbuncle as a Support summon would be cool his four abilities

Glaring Blow: Carbuncle hits his target with a beam of red light, deal x potency and lowering the enemies magic resistance by x amount.
Searing Light (Dot): Carbuncle's Ruby glows brilliantly, causing his targets mind to ache and blinding them for 10 sec (with diminishing returns).
Ruby Light: Casts Reflect on targeted ally, next magic damage dealt by attacker is returned.
Enkindle Ability: Purifying Light, Casts Esuna on all party Members.

ROG:
lvl 53 - Cripple
Potency 100
Combo Action - Shadow Fang
Combo'ed: Potency 280 | Adds debuff Cripple, which adds Heavy and Slow effects for 10s ea.

lvl 55 - Trait - Exploding Tip
Increases the potency of throwing knife to 140, adds effect "Exploding Tip" to enemy for 15s

lvl 57 - Detonate
Off GCD, when activated, all enemies within 5y that have effect "Exploding Tip" damage themselves and all enemies within 2y of themselves for 70 potency.

NIN:
lvl 55 - Shinobi Rush
Off GCD, 40s recast, replicates the movement speed increase of sprint for 10s

lvl 60 - All Creation
Off GCD, 480s recast. Increases skill speed by 100% for 15s, this effect stacks with Huton.

For MNK id like to see

One thousand fists: High damage (in the range of 500 potency) instant ability that take 2 gcds to preform. long cooldown like 5 minutes

Chi Blast: 20 yalm range restores GL Cool down of 2 minutes

Lightning burst: completly removes the gcd limitations for 10 seconds Cooldown of 5 minutes off gcd

Hard strike: hits the target for 150 potency, knocks back and cause a small 3yalm aoe at the end of the knock back 200 potency

finish strike: high damage (350 potency) single target strike. can only be used when target hp is below 20%. 2 minute cd off gcd


Id like to see monk get a few hard hitting moves. I think that host of our regular attacks are covered i just want a few signature attacks

For DRG I would like to see an ability that will give the effect of reraise to a party members for 10 seconds or something. Similar to one of Freya's ability in FFIX. This will give DRG its much needed utility and can contribute to healers MP management.

As stated, something akin to Final Fantasy Tactics' Dragon Spirit, which passively grants Reraise, would be nice, even if it had a ludicrous cooldown time.
Lancet would also be a nice addition, maybe trading the MP drain part for something more useful to the classe, like a boost in tanking stats, or even just a TP drain/restoration.
Having Jump mitigate some damage while off-screen would be nice too, though this is more a buff than a new ability altogether.

Also -and this is very minor, but as a fan of LNCs/DRGs since forever it bothers me to no end- some kinda of fall damage reduction would be nice.
Come on! We jump off-screen during life threatning battles and take a ludicrous ammount of damage from simply jumping off a ledge while chilling around. Really!? xD

I'd actually want DRG to get a raise ability that doesn't inflict weakness debuff at all. Can make it drain all mp for balance purposes. That would majorly boost our utility. That and an action similar to goad but instead of TP it's MP.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think we do start off with 0 MP anyway once raised.

I don't mean the person being raised I mean the drg using the raise. on top of the no weakness debuff could also make it to where TP and and MP are 100% upon coming back to life.

I think if that was the cast then every party would want a DRG in just for that skill. People don't normally die more then like 5 times anyway per round if your in a good group and if they do you'll most likely get RQ after the 5th.

See with BRD's being the lowest DPS is the reason why people wont always have them where as DRG, if given that Skill wont have a draw back on it, like it being the lowest DPS or something.

I would like to see an ability for ninja that allows the ninja to create 2 or 3 clones of itself to fight alongside the ninja like the master that was in the ninja level 50 fight

Bards are primarily support though.

As of now (of course the expansion could just overhaul everything), there are two kind of abilities: class ones (every four levels, two if you count traits) and job ones (every five levels).


A class ability I'd like for Lancer would probably be a buff that allows us for a limited amount of time to attack from afar. I mean, we got them monks with their puny fists and them ninjas with their short knives - and then there's us, armed with one of the longest weapons ever conceived, but we attack from the same distance. It's kinda odd that we don't have any advantage of the sort. That could help us in fights where there are circular AOEs or any mechanics that require us to move away from the boss for a moment. Hell, even a trait that slightly increases the range of our weaponskills and attacks would be cool. Aside from that, an attack capable of debuffing the enemy in some way OTHER than slowing - lowering damage dealt to simulate a crippling blow, or something to somehow support other's damage would definitely help in terms of "how much support do dragoons provide". A kind of impaling charge as a gap closer wouldn't really hurt either. What if they added a third combo attack after Heavy Thrust -> Ring of Thorns to improve even more AoE rotations?

A job ability for Dragoon...well, Skydragon Dive from Estinien (level 50 job quest) was a cool attack, albeit a slightly different version of Dragonfire Dive, but its effect was similar to Bard's Flaming Arrow - and I'd really hate having to bother placing an AoE like that with the mouse while managing the rest of the rotation. I'd like a non-offensive jump with a very little cooldown that allows us to jump from one place/person to another, kinda like Aetherial Manipulation from Black Mage or Ninja's teleport (no idea how it's called, sorry). Reverse Elusive Jump ain't really practical if you're playing on keyboard, not even mentioning the 3m cooldown...if Jobs ended up having passive abilities, a small chance of resetting one of the Jumps when using Power Surge would be great. Lancet's concept seems to be the equivalent of Life Surge, so I'm not so sure they'd add that - not without giving it a totally different concept.

It was merely a suggestion to give DRG some utility. Not the same thing.

For BLM:
An AOE ground targeted spell "Storm" or similar.
Cast time: 3.5 or 4.0 seconds. Duration: 30 seconds. Range: 25 yalms. Effect: 5 yalm radius. MP: maybe 50% more than Thunder 3.
Effect: On each tick count, has a 10% chance to apply "Thunder 0" (12 second duration DOT) to an enemy inside the AOE. Each potential target is an individual roll, so some ticks might have 0 hits, some might have more than 1, and the same enemy might be targeted twice. A visual effect of a dark cloud over the AOE, and lightning striking down from the cloud to the targets would be awesome. I'd say "with rain falling" also, but that's a Conjurer thing.

The way I see it, a straight AOE Thunder would be too overpowered due to Thundercloud. Applying some chance to it makes it more balanced, in particular that the same enemy may be targeted more than once, which wouldn't really increase the chance of Thundercloud procs at all.

Well, if its a letter to Santa post then...

For DRG:
- Immunity proc to almost any damage during Jump animation (or proc a buff that lasts 1 or 2 seconds)
- A way to reset all Jump skills' CDs
- An impaling skill that will throw the enemy away and damages them more the closer they were and the further they flew!!

For NIN:
- An actual lag-proof Mudra System
- That Assassinate can be used from further away from the target (or at a larger remaining HP %)
- A shorter CD for Shukuchi T_T

For MNK:
- A toggle skill that cancels MP/TP recovery which will make skills draw MP instead of TP (and cost double amounts), but that while during such effects GL will have a double bonus!
- Kamehameha, Henki-dama, Hadou ken, etc etc :v

Individualized limit breaks for all classes. The damage ranges should be the same, but the animations should be class specific.

Constant animations added to passive abilities such as, Kiss of Wasp, Fist of Fire, Mage ballad, etc. They don't have to be huge in your face animations, but something that shows it's more than click and here are stat boost.

Trait for bard that battle voice removes the penalties of songs for it's duration and when foe's is on it increases your damage by 10%

Ice Arrow - Shares a cooldown with flame arrow. Applies slow with a proc change to apply bind.

Change fire arrow to have a % chance to inflict a burn debuff that triggers River of Blood

Change Rain of Death to be useful again.

Zip line. Places a structure at a location that you can pull yourself to. 50 yalms 45s cooldown.

Some sort of nuke for SMN that takes whatever dots are ticking and instantly finishes the damage. For example, do your normal DoTs + Contagion + Bane. Then hit the nuke so that the enemies instantly all the damage that the dots would have eventually done over time. Give it like a 2-3 minute cooldown to keep it from bring too OP, but it would give SMN an additional way to do burst damage without it being tied to Aetherflow stacks.

Not sure what you mean by utility but the giving it a Raise Spell that would be better then WHM/SCH/SMN Raise type spell would seem odd.

A forced critical trait on every melee DPS so people can complain it is even more useless... On a serious note, I can't really think of anything right now. Haha.

Ah I see where your coming from now, I think for me they would still need weakness applied to them but I can imagine that type of skill would be good for those who are about to die. Could be a nice save for healers if Tank is low and their unable to heal for what ever reason.

I agree, weakness should be applied as per normal.

Something I would like to see on the NIN would be that when they use the Mudras while moving they actually do the Handseals.
