In 2.4 alot of content was added. But verry little fixed. Worse still victems persecuted along with the criminals.
I've been a big defender of SE and Director Yoshida since Launch.

Me: The content just needs team work, and trust me there is a secret to be found with atma drops that'll make it easy.

Me: We're just so over geared that it seems easyer to us.

After all I did to back them up and support their plans, I feel kinda betrayed that Yoshi-P would allow this game to start going down the path that lead Director Tanaka's dev team to the destruction of 1.0.
I undestand that new content is being worked on and it takes alot of time and man power... But how does that matter if there are no players to play the content by the time it's finished? I don't want my favorite game to die again from the same fatal mistakes that killed it before. T.T

I have supported the game since its initial launch and I can see the issues with it, but I cannot agree that they are taking the same route as Tanaka's team. The issue there, at least from my perspective, was the outright ignoring of things that weren't working or were not liked. Here, Yoshi is struggling, trying to appease everyone, so it seems to be the exact opposite. As for older content still not being fixed, I'd need an example, I see bug fixes listed for older content all the time. I also think I can answer a few of these questions you posed from the confused:

Actually, this is a middle ground. The content is more difficult because the players asked for it. More hardcore players have been complaining about content that isn't challenging, so, new things were introduced to make it so that newer content was more difficult, to allow those who like the challenge to have more to chose from than just slamming their faces against end game content.

Low rewards are placed to help control progression, that's simple, they don't want players finishing all the new things in an afternoon and then waiting for the next patch because they have nothing to do. Low rewards means you have to work harder. Hunting nerfs are more about balance than anything else. The system was introduced and was easily too broken for the elite few, making hunting useless to anyone outside of the larger groups that camped the same creature for massive seals that could gear up everything in a few hours. They didn't nerf it, they balanced it. Hunts work fine now. The duty lockouts for people who have not broken the new rules are a glitch, so contact the support desk and get things handled, it's simple. Take action, talk, communicate and things get done. If all people do is complain instead of taking the valid steps they need to inform SE there is a problem, then nothing gets done.
I am looking forward to what the dev team comes up with, this game will keep me occupied for a long time to come and I know they will release all kinds of content. However, the game is still young, and there is much we can still come to expect that will be balanced, changed and altered. The game's relaunch, which SE invested a lot of time and money into, is still in its game infancy, let's help it grow up nice, balanced and strong by staying positive and following what we need to when things look grim. -

Thanks. Was just kinda venting. I've been the Balmung Server paragon for defending the devs and I just had no answers for these. basically it's the same as always. Please the few, piss off the masses because you can't please every one.
The fact that I spent all of 2.3 grinding gear, tomes, sands, ect, ect ,ect probably didn't do alot for my combat morale either. After all the content jump is more aparent BECAUSE the old stuff was easyer. I think alot of people, my self included, got over inflated egos about our skill level in 2.3 and now 2.4 has content that actually is difficult and we don't match up. I believe Scylla in Sycrus Tower was rediculusly hard until every one in the game learned how to do it.
As for the content that hasn't been fixed, for the most part I feel reward balence needs to be adressed and housing prices need new assecements. Though I think housing is now under constent scruteny since the new parts of the areas were added. And in my oppinion at least The first 3 EX primals are still WAAAAY to strong with as little of reward as they provide. Levi, Mog King, and Ramuh EX still hold up to current item lvls but Ultima HM and the 1st three EX primals don't have a good enough reward to warent the difficulty.
but I'd wadger alot is going on behind the sceans that us players arn't in the know about. So only time will tell how every thing will do in the long run. -

Aside from the erroneous duty lock outs (which I haven't actually heard about, but I'll take your word for it) everything seems fine to me. I like the new dungeons, though I was expecting something much harder based on the feedback I saw before I tried them out. I actually think Tam-tara was harder than any of the new ones, but dungeons are never hard.
I guess 5 poetics from S ranks is a bit silly. Maybe they went a bit hard on hunts. I could have done with 10 poetics on S and 5 on A, but it's fine. They didn't want people capping tomes on hunts, never mind much faster than with any other content on top of getting allied seals. The other 'low rewards' are to be expected. It was very much the same way at 2.2. Mythology was fairly scarce and to cap soldiery you needed to run the expert roulette 6 times (just like you do now) or collect soldiery from various other sources if not running ex roulette that many times. The main difference is I think 6 would have taken you a bit over cap, whereas now you hit it exactly. -

I've actually only heard of isolated incedents on lock out errors, so I'm personally planning to report my findings to the Devs after I get a little more information. It could simply be people not wanting to fess up to being cue trolls when they're on a PF team rather than a legit error. So it needs more investigating before I'm willing to report it my self. Nothing worse that hear say evidence with out proof.

There was a dev post about it, but I don't think enough people know about it, let alone expect it to happen. In any case, if queing as a partial group (2+) when commence/ withdraw pops everyone in the party will get a 'strike' if anyone hits withdraw or let's it time out. Doesn't matter that you hit commence, your party withdrew so you get the penalty. This is also the case with full parties queing for CT/ST (but not the case with full parties elsewhere or full premade alliances in CT/ST)Quote:

I saw that dev post as well which makes me suspect player error rather than system error. Because when cueing it dosn't say WHO actually hit withdraw so there is actually the potential of a much more malevolent form of cue trolling, though since it'd require breaking the harrasment segment of the EULA I have a feeling it'd be handle with merciless fury if it happened.
So unless I find evidence of actually system errors then I'll let it be. -

My personal experience the ones who complain about things like the queue finder penalties are the ones doing something wrong. It's a three strike system and you have two chances to get out of jail free so if you withdraw a third time in a day and get a penalty you only have yourself to blame. The other complaint about the entire party getting lockout for three withdraws in a row after DF pops is again on the shoulders of the players. How hard is it to make sure the whole party is present and ready before you queue? If somebody is withdrawing after that they should be kicked from the queue why play with people who get you locked out? SE is not at fault here.

The content is harder because the bar got raised.
The Hunt was a player boost, and let's not lie to ourselves here. Now that almost anyone and everyone is generally at least i100, or able to obtain it with ease thanks to hunts/ST/etc., it was time to raise the bar. And they did.
I'm not one of those players that want everything to be super challenging, but I commend them for raising the bar, especially after they built a paved road to the top of the mountain we'd all been climbing. NOW, it's time to climb again. -

The easy content up till now would have place mid-teir and lower mid-teir players in the upper brackets and (In my case for example) over inflated our egos. Till now I considered my self one of the Best Dragoons on Balmung Server. Now the bar has been raised and it turns out, i'm not nearly as good as I thought. This would be shocking as well to any one else that was overly use to the easyness of the content and wasn't expecting REAL dificulty rather than a small change in pace.Quote:

You get pretty much the same amount of Soldery as you did before. Again, this is exactly how it was at the launch of 2.2 Myth was still hard to get and some people may remember having to spam Brayflox HM hundreds of times to earn what they needed.

All my intell still shows that the average drop rate for any particular atma per fate is less than 10%. So that's still alot of Luck needed. And Range has always been a confusint term to me. That inplys the percentages arn't the same for every one when it's just fighting a percentage. if it's 5% drop than that means only have a 1 out of 20 chance of getting an atma. Since the percentage is constant than 5 out of 100 fates is not true because you can do 1000 fates and neve see a single atma.Quote:

They are relatively accurate guesses considering the current drop rate observed (around 10% so far in my intell) and the fact that we don't know by how much the devs improved the drop rate.
