Erase Rank-Reset on GC-Swap & Enable FC FL Queueing

Just make PVP Rank character-specific, not tied to GC.

I was Rank 36 at 2.3 release, asking me to reset my Rank just to be able to play with my friends who were in a different GC is ludicrous.

We should have the freedom to individually be in whatever GC we wish (I only like Maelstrom, my friend only likes Adders, we shouldn't be forced to switch to FL with one another) which leads me to my next point...

Let us queue for FL according to our FC-GC Affiliation (at minimum).

If you're going to restrict us by GC, at least let us queue up according to FC-GC.

This way at least the FC can FL together even if players don't wish to change personal GC.

Such a restrictive system is detrimental to both PVP & Social-Play (hallmark of MMOs).

This was discussed to great lengths before and after frontlines are introduced

The majority of players didn't want it to change, because they are moronic

Square enix don't care either way, PvP is an afterthought

Yeah, the rank reset is the real deal breaker. No way in hell am I regrinding the ranks. They should alteast offer some type of item we can uses to allow us to keep rank while switching - it can be something outrageous like a 40k GC seal or a 1700 allied seals item we buy that allows us to keep rank while we switch. Come on SE, throw us a friggin' bone here

It's such terrible design restricting us from playing with our friends so badly.

I'm so tired of not being able to FL with my friends b/c we don't want to switch GC's (rightfully so, rank-resetting is foolish & we were told GC affiliation wouldn't have any affect on game-playability).

I was 2 ranks away from capping flames befor the patch hit, 40 adders and 36 mael starting from scratch 3 months ago, your excuses for not wanting to lose rank is just that, an excuse. Stop pretending its rank thats holding you back, its not.

Only a pver disguised as a pvper would support grinding of any form in a pvp environment.

In his defense, I doubt he's a win trader. He probably just grinded the shit out of that to gain ranks across GCs once FL came out. Many have done it.

Actually, it's not an excuse. Not switching GCs is neither a fault nor offense, so the reason for not doing it need not defend the action of not doing it, as would be required for the reason to be considered an excuse. It is a reason; nothing more, nothing less.

I've already been to hell and back explaining why the PvP ranks being tied to GCs is a bad idea from a game design standpoint, it both serving no realistic purpose and being unfun and seemingly-punishing to the player, so I'll just leave it at that. I don't like it being tied to GC.

No, I'm just assuming it's virtually impossible to be rank 40 or close with EVERY GC without having win-traded.

Also, you didn't deny it & the only reason I am dismissing you is because you were immediately rude for no reason.

All these are first world problems.
Reset your rank or tell your friends to reset theirs.
If you unwilling to do it, you value your rank more than your friends. period

When you have these sorts of features in a game, you have to ask yourself: How does this enhance/improve the experience for the player?

In this case, the answer is: It does not. At all.

It's almost there arbitrarily, it seems to serve no purpose. If people want a grind in pve, whether it be for gear or just glamour, that's what wolf marks are for. There is your grind, bam, DONE. How in the world does ranking up multiple times make them game better for ME, or anyone else for that matter? In fact, all it seems to do is make the experience WORSE overall. If I want to do frontline with a friend from a different GC, one of us has to be willing to sacrifice our gear and rank to do it, that's not fun at all. It's literally unfun.

I think even the people that are "meh" on the issue can agree that at the very least, GC rank is not fun. It's just there, it's annoying.

Why have it?

Interesting idea. While I couldn't care less about rank myself, this would go along way to helping FL queues on Odin. People wont switch if they are on lolstrom with rank 40, sadly....
