Doom Spike cost 2000+ exra TP

The description on the "Doom Spike" WS reads it costs 2000 TP to use.

In game it wipes out ALL TP above 2000.

It's been like this since beta. Can the tooltip be changed to reflect the actual usage costs and the benefits (if any) if used with full TP (extra damage? extra accuracy?)

or if it is a bug, fix it so it only uses the stated 2k TP?

It requires "at least" 2k. Anything extra is used to provide extra power to the skill.

Yes, the description isn't precise enough and should be changed.

no where does it state it will wipe out all your TP, and since it does what's the benefit of having extra TP when using it?

I understand it wipes out all TP above 2000, but why doesn't the tool tip reflect that?

Sorry for the confusion, Chief. The Doomspike ability, and several others (Maim, Simian Thrash, Riot Blade), does in fact consume TP over the base cost of 2000 up to a maximum of 3000. As you stated, this absolutely should be reflected in the help text for those abilities, and so I've just added it. These changes will go live in 1.19.

I noticed this yesterday too, it'd be nice if we could gear a clearer explanation of what the additional TP does. I'm not entirely sure we any would want to use this over using 3 1000TP abilities -- Mine (Rank 14) averages 550 or so damage, where as I can do Skewer, Circle Slash, and Moonrise for 220+ damage each...

It does more Dmg. very good when buffed (raging strike etc.)

isn't this also the case with Riot Blade? don't forget to make description changes to it too then!

It does seem to do a lot more dmg when you use it at 300 TP

Yeah, but in my experience its sitll not enough to offset using 3000 TP over 3 other abilities... Maybe I'll do some tests later...

i think ur right and besides you could use 3 diferent abilitys with debuffs like moonrise, leg sweep and heavy trammel and do the same or more dmg and debuff than just 1 doomspike II wish is just dmg.

Still it's a pretty nice move when u build tp quickly, i like the animation and it goes well with ferocity II and such buffs

2k+ WS are more useful in BRs against high ranking mobs such as Ogre and Batman. With the BR buff and additional dmg buff via TP, it's pretty substantial. For simple grinding purposes you are indeed more often better served to stick to 1k/500tp WS.

I'm guessing this would have made more sense with the Stamina bar. Having 3 Abilities for 1000TP each with higher damage and having 1 'Ultra move' for 3000TP with lower damage makes a good stamina bar strategy, though now this is null and void, the only perk being cast time. (i.e 1 skill for a little less damage then 3 skills good for aggro gain etc.)
