Sleipnir Mount - Becoming a reality!

Apparently doing a little browsing on XIVdb.com surfaced this little gem.

Sleipnir Horn

A friend also found out about a 15 min Odin Trial that might debut at this years Fan Fest's! :o

Considering the Dalamund Minion won't be available after December this year... I doubt it.

hmm didn't they say that something special might happen, if you collect all the primal mounts? i'd guess, this is it...
would be funny if you needed a party of 8, where everyone needs to have all mounts :)

It might be released FIRST at Fanfest, but I don't see them keeping content like a trial for Fanfest only. That would be a huge waste of development time. OR , if it's soooo easy to throw out content we should have every trial for ever primal/GF/Summon there ever was lol.

I really doubt it would be reserved for the fanfest peeps only.

It could be after killing 200 times Odin, or some nice side quest in 2.4.

or if it's really an event, that one server could unlock it if they win.. like the lol earrings.

Eh I don't like this, Sleipnir will be turned into a generic skinny horse, they will ruin it :( I don't want this out until they discard that ugly skinny horse model.

Actually; It'll look just like Odin's Sleipnir, I believe. With all the armor and fixings.

Why would 'all hell break loose' if that's the case? Why would anyone care if something exclusive to those who could genuinely attend isn't globally available? This has been the norm for as long as there's been fanfests, not just for Square properties. Minecons gave out exclusive capes for attendee's Steves. Blizzcons gave out... somethings. So people attending Fanfest get a mount. Big deal. It's not like any of the mounts are mechanically superior to the rest. Seriously, when did these generation of entitlement begin? HOW did it begin?! Are parents really this stupid these days?

No, the only reward for finishing 2.0 is a title and the magitek reaper mount. Unless you mean 2.# which even then, no. Odin's part in the storyline is in the form of 2-3 quests that serve no better purpose than to say, "Oh, hey, you're level 50, there's a fate out there that lets you fight Odin."

I doubt this is the case since there is going to be a 15 min Odin trial. Conventions that XIV visits have 15 min Primal battle challenges, so it'd make more sense if it was from a trial challenge.

Well if this is the case, I hope that 200 is retroactive. D: Cause I've killed Odin several times with Gold winning and have like 24 mantles left over.

I believe at some point Yoshi said they planned on adding a line of Odin Quest's. This could be the reward from finishing all of those.

I like mounts and I'm a huge fan of norse mythology but It's sad that SE made sleipnir look like a regular horse and not the eight legged one but oh well I'll just have to make do.

There a Odin primal fight dungeon in the game btw if no one knew this. It is called "Urth's Fount"

That does not exist in game as dungeon. Maybe it was something in Beta then scrapped? Odin is a FATE in the open world and I never saw a dungeon is Urth's area. And never heard anyone mention it ever.

oh silly its part of the 2.38 dats of course its not release yet same as the Halloween event thats the ingame but not activated.

Crap I wanted to prove me wrong with info regarding a new normal dungeon with the glorious Odin as the final boss. Sigh

Lucky you, It's the only Fate missing in my achievement to get even one Gold. Guess I'm busy/out of luck/wrong group..

All I can say is, when it comes to SE I'd suggest to keep your expectations to a minimum.

It better not be from fan fest. They need to cut back on the exclusive one time event items.

Way to degrade the mighty companion of an elder primal to something that 70 percent of the server will use for the first two weeks after it comes out in an attempt to feel special. Such a shame. ;_;

Maybe it will be 10 Odin mantle/player to access the place and you'll have only 15 mn until Zantetsuken !

Or maybe it's just that the Odin battle data are for the fan fest but will be in the game later.

New hunt im gonna presume..

since they said we'd have stronger ones like odin and behemoth.. why wouldnt they just recycle them?

Why would this be a hunt when it's a trial dungeon called Urth's Fount?

Well, until you can cite 'Urth's Fount' as a trial dungeon from an official source we're just going to have to go with that being an individual player's wishful thinking. There is an actual Urth's Fount, but it's a landmark in South Shroud, used as a quest location a couple times. Trial dungeon it is not. We don't know how Sleipnir's Horn will be distributed so anything anyone says is theorycrafting so don't go bashing people into believing you over anyone else. I'll believe what I see on Lodestone or in a crowned thread.

Now, theory in mind, Urth's Fount the Trial could have been the original plan for Odin before they thought up FATEs but never removed the dats in question, similar to the tram and chocobo forest of XI. We don't know.

XIVdb.com pulls their data straight from the game files. Every item in their database has always been in the game. This is how the Dodo Earrings, Slime King Crown, Slime Earrings, and a bunch of other event/vanity/misc items were discovered ahead of patches because they were put in before the initial update that allowed them to be obtainable.

Your client data will have this information in it if you do a little digging. Alas I have not the tools to do so myself, but XIVdb.com is about as close are you're going to get.

Maybe they decided to make it. Although that is not Sleipnir. He has 8 legs. SE may call it that, but meh..

None of what you posted sounds like a dungeon. It sounds like the lore that explains the exsistenice of ruts fount.
