Calling it now, Iceheart is Shiva.
"That's crazy, you're crazy!"
It's not if you consider that all those blessed by the Echo are 'little primals' (seriously, player adventurer's seem to defy death but NPC adventurers not so much. Poor Avere), that the Ascians have shown they know how to grant the Echo (though I think Iceheart is naturally possessed of the Echo) and that all it takes to manifest a primal is alot of aetheric energy.
Well time to get to work and prepare for Shiva

http://www.gamenguide.com/articles/1...s-and-more.htm
That's the emptiest article I have ever read, the title suggest it's about 2.4 but only the first paragraph talks about 2.4.
I know I know, I'm just saying that it doesn't close the possibility of possession, we still don't know how powerful (lore wise) is Shiva, she could take over Iceheart while she tries to summon her. I'm just saying all theories out there are equally possible IMO.
This makes me think the Ascians are controlling the high priest / pope of Ishgard to threaten the heretics, driving them (and Iceheart) to seek for "extra" help (which the Ascians will provide).
This is how the sahuagin priest proves (to me at least) that Iceheart is Shiva. The Ascians granted the priest the power of the Echo, granting him immortality (for however long that lasted). Players are also granted the Echo and when we die we can just revive at an aetheryte like nothing happened. Remind you of anything? (/cues Jeopardy theme) That's right, like a primal. Primals don't die, they just go to the aether and have a nap. Imagine if Echo bearers had the same strength of spirit. Seems to achieve this you just need alot of aetheric energy. Iceheart is either naturally gifted with the Echo or has been/will be awakened by the Ascians, then she'll go and power up on crystals cause why not and in the process become Shiva. That's my theory, at least.
Actually, word of god says that players don't literally die when you die. You're knocked unconscious, and your character's natural instinct activates their anima which sends them to a safe point via the lifestream. The Echo grants immortality by allowing your soul to exist outside of your body in an aetherial form, like the Ascians. Whereas Primals don't really have a soul, they're just walking, talking masses of crystal given identity through the beliefs of their followers.
This is just my personal opinion/theory.
I believe if Iceheart is Shiva, that somehow she is transformed into a Primal, that we'll finally see the process of how a Primal is made, which could open up the doors to new possibilities for us in the future for many different things. I think the heretics aren't all what they seem, Iceheart might actually have some kind of intel that Ishgard is corrupted by some unknown force (or she knows it's by the paragons) and is trying to start her own rebellion through these "heretics". Her followers get so devout over her, and the process of how to create a primal is imbued upon her, that she becomes Shiva, in hopes to thwart what ever plans Ishgard might have against the rest of the world. I'm not entirely convinced she is the same as Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan, but more like Ramuh and her fight will be something different that just "stopping the raging Primal from sucking up Aether." Again... just a thought.
The trailer can't come fast enough!
Information coming this Saturday:

Saturday, September 20, 10:15 p.m. (PDT)
Latest News: Yoshi-P will be revealing the latest details from the upcoming 2.4 patch, including the new class and job, the new primal, new dungeons, and much, much more!
I'm hoping Shiva will have a voice actor just like Ramuh, and a proper voice at that. (I'm sure some of us still remember a certain cutscene where Garuda spoke? Yuckers, that was such a bad choice :()
Since Yoshi-P said it's only a month away, I really hope the trailer will be out very soon. After all, trailers have battle themes as well. I'm so curious as to what Shiva's will be :)

...that said, graphical updates? What?
Calling it, the heretrics are actually the good guys, cause they knew who is behind the pope.
The dragons are guarding something that the Asicans wanted.
Lalafells are evil and already planning to make slaves(rest of Eorzea) out of ppl already slaves to them
Cannot wait - saw the OP image yesterday and found the one in my signature today - so excited!!!! :D
Would it break them to post this on the Lodestone...... ^^
For thsoe who speak a bit better japanese than me....
The latter part is only in the 8th derevation used for dreaming, otherwise used for illusion and the first kanji is a lyrical writing of something freezes .. Wouldnt it be more saying That Illusion of Freezing?
Just curious because some Japanese original titles mean quite something else than the english translation
True but couldn't dreams be considered illusions?
I think Dreams of Ice is more catchy than the Illusion of Freezing.
In my opinion anyway.
Yeah of course it is more catchy
but I wonder more if there is some other meaning behind it. the FFXI expannsion, when translating the Japanese names literally made a lot of more sense Wings of the goddes actully was something like The warriors legends if I remember right.
Ahh I see - Well, tomorrow is the live letter! im sure itll get clarified then :D
SHiva better sounds sexy. I say Shiva should have a slight Hindu accent, nothing hardcore that we will have to replay the cut scenes to understand what she is saying. Ramuh sounded the way i expected because of that glorious beard and on top of that he pronounced the other primals name correctly.
Tie-Tin
Rah-Moo
Ee-freet
Gah-rou-dah
I find it more likely that Iceheart will be a relative of someone, and that she survived whatever happened to Falcon's Nest/Coerthas Western Highlands, only to become a slave to Shiva.
Iceheart literally being Shiva is just far too obvious, and has no real impact as a result... Then again, these are the same people who gave us Neros cunning disguise and reveal in the Crystal Tower cutscenes...
Thinking about it... Why does Shiva even need to be summoned? Western Highlands got completely Diamond Dust'd by her after all... Who exactly put her down after she did that? Who even summoned her to do that to Coerthas in the first place?
The fact that Lady Iceheart is on the front of the art for patch 2.4 is a giveaway that shes Shiva (refers to own signature)
I see Shivas boobs behind Iceheart. Looks like Shiva is half encased in ice or a crystal, in fact... Perhaps that's why she's been dormant, also adds meaning to "Dreams of Ice", since it would mean Shiva is "asleep", and Iceheart is attempting to wake her; she looks like she's calling/praying to Shiva in that artwork at least.
EDIT: Threw this together to point out the boobs;
