Moonfire Festival

Yay finally. (Didn't see a post yet.)

I hope it's like it was in 1.0 and we get to dance during the fighting instead of mass kill. lol It's unique and I really enjoy the passive way of combating the forces. Crosses fingers and hopes it's like it was before.

That's pretty sad since the entire lore essentially is about the dance being use to fight the creatures rather than 'brute force.'

It would have just been a FATE zerg anyway.

Does this mean past event items be available to anyone even if they did not participate in the past event? typically, the past event items are only available if you had completed the past event. This seems to state that they are available to everyone.

I'm curious about this as well. I love the look of the new Yukata's, but I'm curious as to why only the one of the previous three Yukata's are available to purchase, and if there are special requirements in regards to purchasing them. Also, the sandals aren't listed either, which is a same because I was hoping to do a glamor with the black yukata and sandals xD

I'm looking forward to the festival. I wasn't playing last time it happened. You really danced in the fates? How did that work?

Last year it was just a regular fighting FATE (maybe had no time to do a special FATE because it was shortly after launch).
The dancing was during 2012, the last summer of 1.x

1.x's events were you targeted the enemy and did /pose or /firedance (depending on which event it was) so you didn't directly fight them. In ARR...yeah, FATE zerg, nothing creative honestly.

I want the wooden sandals that those PCs in the picture are wearing... They aren't listed in the rewards or purchasable items.

I'm just excited the Yukatas are back! I missed the 1.x event due to quitting the game just before it was released.

One of the original yukatas is black and white for females.

I've been looking forward to this event all year so I could get some of the sandals, if they not available this year then I have little interest in the event.

I found that odd too. The short/mini yukata is a popular modern twist for women, but for men it just looks odd lol.

Possible. I found it by looking under the vendor in the NPC tab of patch 2.3. So while it is completely likely that that vendor only has what will be there in 2.0, can't be sure. So as I said here's to hoping.

Thanks to you both. That's a fun mechanic. I hope they bring it back eventually.

I do like the short ones, but longer versions would be nice too. Maybe next year, or for a Winter event?

They always rehash the past. You all will get your sandals etc.

Finally! I did the original summer event in 1.0 with the swimsuits and wallpapers (wish they'd do the wallpaper thing again) but then I wasnt playing the year after when they had the yukatas, been dying for them since. I knew there'd be new yukatas, but Im really happy to see they have butterflies on them, I love those.

I like whats there but I kinda wish there was some more alternate colours, I've had a glamour idea for ages I've wanted to try with yukatas (too bad for a while at least I bet everyone will be using yukatas in their glamours)
