Maybe like 375 Sol for one? Got nothing else to use it for really. Hate having to be forced to spend it because of cap.

Terrible idea. They're easy enough to get as is.
Yeah, no... soldiery can be gained from near every high level thing now. Sands and Oils are for upgrading the highest level gear we have, it makes sense to have them drop from the highest level content we have. Soldiery is just a gateway to get the highest level stuff and should stay that way.
Just do hunts. Stop being lazy.
People in my FC are starting to take their hunting frustrations out on me. Not my fault if they don't like the content and/or choose not to do it.Quote:

>375 Soldiery for one
WHY NOT JUST GIVE US EVERYTHING BY MOOGLE DELIVERY?? SERIOUSLY THIS PEOPLE ARE SO FRICKING LAZY!!!! want everything easy to get!!!!!!!!!!!! this game is already supper easy and u still want it to make it more easy?? GOD!!!! please just stop playing this game!!! this kind of people really gets me really angry!!!!!!
Wow, stunning..
I mean, really.
Why even bother going through the process of grinding 375 Sol Tomes when I can hop on my Chocobo and go afk for 20 minutes at a time while my party grinds S-Rank Marks for me?
Well, given that Soldiery still has a cap, I see nothing wrong with it.
Argueably, gathering Sands of Time via Soldiery, would be more challenging than via Hunts, given that there is little to no restriction on the Hunts.
Obviously both of these methods wouldn't be ideal.
I am still surprised we can actually get Sands/Oil via Hunts. But whatever.
Was 2.0-2.2 really so bad when i90 gear was available straight from Rowena?
Sands/Oils probably -will- be available via soldiery once Myth tomes go the way of the dodo just like philo tomes did.
For right now, just do your hunts and stop complaining on the forums. You could have had 100 seals by now >_>.
My God. Not everyone likes doing hunts. Is that so hard to understand?
You see, what players want here is options.
Back when Myth tomes were hot shit, you had options on how to get those. Some were faster or slower than others but the options still remained because the rate at which you could acquire them was capped. Whether you could get 450 Myth tomes in 1 day or 6 days didn't matter.
There is no option currently.
That's the problem.
I'm sure you love roaming around Coerthas with 80 other people around you all attacking the same mob for a seal or two. Other people enjoy content that requires more than a pulse and the use of 1 finger.
Asking to buy sands of time isn’t lazy lol. We would be still working for them. Yes, we can get them though hunts but it cost 750 seals and we only get about 7 a day(maybe an extra 20 If we can find and get full credit for weekly target). I have wanted some sands of time but realized they ONLY come from 2nd Coil Turn 3-4 with a once a week lockout. I would like the idea.
If you're only getting 7 seals a day, you're doing something wrong. I started late to the hunts, didn't even touch them the first two weeks they were out (probably only been doing them for a week and a half, maybe two). So far, I have been able to purchase three Sands (2,250 seals), an oil (500 seals) and three pieces of the GC gear (chest, gloves and boots totaling 2,200 seals).
Want sands, don't like hunting? Run coil. Can't run coil? Sorry, you don't get end game ilvl110 gear that you don't even need because you don't run coil.
Also I don't understand where you all are coming from with the whole "seal or two" thing. I get full credit, every time. I hunt with a full party, we attack the mob, I get full credit. Maybe if you are like, derping around in your FC house and take 20 minutes to get to a pull thats 98% dead and hit it with Aero while your chocobo flails at it for .3 seconds gets you 2 seals, but if you actually pay attention and you know, participate in the hunt... you will get full credit.
If I’m doing something wrong, i don’t know what it is.
If you are getting 7 a day your problem is you are actually doing the daily hunts on the hunt board, not roaming around with a party and killing the hunt mobs that spawn. You get seals for those, 5 for B rank, 20 for A rank, 50 for S rank. Ignore the daily hunt board, do your weekly.
So our options are:
1) Zerg Rush for hours a day for a handful of seals that are easily exploited because of bad design
OR
2) Run Coil once a week and pray
Those don't seem like options. I've seen a lot of options in my day and what you said looks nothing like an option.
On that note, if Gear was given on an on-demand basis, you wouldn't have to buy them. They'd just scale with whatever content you're doing.
On that note, what about the people who spammed Hunts for i110 gear and don't run any hard content?
There's also a third option:Quote:

3. Ignore hunts and coil until sands or i110+ gear is available through other means.
You've got a real bias against hunts. You can easily get 1 sand per day doing hunt, if not more, not just a "handful" of seals. It's not easily exploited either, and it's not bad design, hunts are a first come first serve sorta thing. Just be in a full party, have everyone in the party hit it once or twice and bam you get full credit.
There's a clear distinction between people who don't run any hard content but have i110 gear and the people who do run "hard" content. People who actually run the hard content can get their BiS and the allagan / high allagan weapons.
Yes, those are your options right now. How many options do you want to get access to the highest ilvl gear? Should you get allied seals from mining? Should you get them from obliterating the kraken in hullbreaker that you outlvl by 50 ilvls? Should you get them for mandervilling in front of a moogle? Sheesh.
It is bad game design. Allow me to explain.
How did you get sands before now? Oh right, probably running Coil?
Let me guess, coil had a limit on how many times you could run it right?
Just from that, we can assume there was some sort of, i dunno, limitation on how fast you could get i110 gear, right?
Then hunts come out and that limitation is blown away with 1 simple mechanic that obviously wasn't thought through too well, considering how well it overshadows almost every other option in the game.
ps the limitation on coil is still in place. better spam hunts lel
I'm not mad. I have no desire for i110 gear. I just play with friends for fun. The problem is the blatantly obvious bad design approach. I quite like this game and would hate for it to follow the same horrid decision making most other games employ.
I'm sorry that you feel accomplished for how high your avatar hits with its pixel weapon.
I'm sure you were one of the many (lel) people posting on the forums complaining that buying i90 straight from the NPC was a bad choice.
Hahaha, people are being elitist about hunts. Oh, that is rich.
Yeah it's really really easy, you've got a pretty good chance of getting a few blood splattered mark log drops over the course of the day if you hunt all day. It takes me four to five hours to get a decent amount, and by that time I usually get one or two mark log drops so it's easily a sand and then some. I don't even hunt that often, but when I do I atleast make sure I get an oil or sand.
Really don't know why people have a problem with this. I don't like the 'idea' of it, just based on the fact Sands shouldn't be 'ez moad' to get. But really, for anyone to complain about Soldiery being a method of obtaining sands is ridiculous in comparison to Hunts. You can get multiple sands a week in hunts, where as even with the proposed 375 Sol for 1 sand means you will be getting one a week. I would have rather seen SE do this then what they did with Hunts. Makes no sense to gate Sol when there is an overflow of Hunts. At least some of us could spend Soldiery we find rather worthless currently.
TL, DR; Sands/Oils are a joke now. Just do it.
Unfortunately no, I wasn't. I actually really like that aspect of the game, that casual players can obtain high lvl gear with relative ease even if it is not "the best". Thats probably because I don't even do coil myself. You see, my point was that you have two distinct options, both very different, to obtain these items. One is super casual, one is much more hardcore in terms of playstyle and effort. I am having serious issues grasping how people are sitting here whining day and night about hunts when the system is honestly -not that bad-. People cried for open world content basically since the release of the game, and somewhere in there they forgot that open world content meant everyone can participate (and would, if it is was worth doing).
Hunts are so easy to do and the barrier to entry is imaginary. Make your own Hunt LS, goto hunts, invite players. Make a PF, invite everyone in the PT to it. People will accept. Soon, you will have a network of people helping you find hunting targets. You may not like the system, thats fine. Just seriously, answer the question. If this content is so bad, what would you want to give allied seals? You offered nothing except some offhand remark about how i'm probably elitist.
There's no reason for them not to put it on Soldiery with the way hunts are implemented. Hell, there's no reason for them to keep any of the current content locked with the way hunts are. This patch cycle is basically ruined.
