500 sounds good to me.
Then the people spamming it now spam even harder cause they want Blood Spattered logs from the A and S, which is their only way to get "more" when they cap for the week.
Not fixed. Unless they do something like that. Not disagreeing with you btw op. Just sayin there's a little more to it that will backfire still.
Lazy patchwork for lazy game design is just what the system needs!
Because this game certainly doesn't have enough arbitrary caps already.
The problem is that seals are meant, by design, to be somewhat plentiful of a resource, since 2.3 is essentially a catchup period.
It is a legit currency now, just like tomes and company seals, only unlike those two there's really only one venue from which they can be obtained.
That is what needs fixing. Go upward, not downward. Add seals to daily duty roulette bonus (to get people back in instances). Make mobs in Frontlines drop seals (To incentivize people to play more PVP)). Remove the FATE payout weighing (To not prejudice against smaller parties and solo hunters). Make personal daily hunts something that isn't a complete practical joke (So that it's more personal effort and less competition). Scale target mob HP as more people appear in the vicinity of the monster (And why isn't this in day one?). These are possible fixes, each of those is better than introducing yet another dirt cheap cap. All the cap is going to create is a burst period on Tuesday.
Turn Hunts into endgame leves. Problem fixed.
I used to be like you guys. I hated hunts. Then I joined a hunt LS with TS and I loved it lol it's really fun hunting NMs. I could do without the dbags on my server that pull before the groups are ready but meh what can u do. As long as everyone in the party gets a hit off, you should get full credit its not that hard.
This is definitely not meant to be solo content cuz the NMs are too tough, and if youre in a half decent group, keeping track of ToDs, then there shouldn't be an issue always getting max seals.
Except for when you can't get a hit off because the mark doesn't even load due to the amount of people that gathered.
the opposite of "solo content" isn't 200 people in the zone, every one performs a single action content.
B Marks are solo content and A Marks can be done with basically any balanced Light Party of i90+, my friend and i was duoing an A Rank on Day 1 as PLD + SCH till two DPS showed up to help speed things along.
Ok that didn't occur to me because I'm on a very populated server, and I'm on PS4 and I don't have any issues whatsoever with mobs not loading. I guess that's not even really a content issue though because it doesn't effect everyone. What they should do is just make NMs like Odin and Behemoth.
Just have frontlines award like 10 seals if you lose, 35 if you win. Leave the log books on the mobs as is so that there is still appeal to go after them.
People would stop going for B ranks most likely, and you would get a ton of people playing frontlines, and still a bunch of people doing hunts.
yay
I like the idea of either capping it/taking away the books, turning them into leves or removing them completely until the devs find a way to stop cheaters. Not to say I don't like the system now but I understand that it needs to be fixed somehow.
I've always been able to see the mob as I have a high end gaming PC, however my client has crashed while running towards a S rank. There was so many people. I am sure that the zone was maxed and every single person in the zone was there. It's odd because I never crashed at Odin or Behe before. I've DC'd quiet a few times because of a server crash but that's about it. Actually it was the first I ever saw that client crash error. Hunts need to thin out over the week IMO.
That's all people want in this game, more restrictions.
I honestly think they'll do something like this, but not in the traditional leve sense. Something along the lines of treating leve-versions like S-rank elites, where you do something to trigger them (assuming that's still the case with them). Sort of like what the Hunt was originally implied to be all about... except wasn't...
Either that or they'll remove rewards like the log, though I think that's the least wanted outcome. I swear, the Hunt is a great example of at least two things: "this is why we can't have nice things" and why devs must continue to treat the player base like children. When it's done properly by players, the Hunt is fantastic and one of the more fun activities you can do with friends. When not done properly, it simply ends up isolating the player base that it was mostly aimed to help.
That'd be nice too (I like Guildhests a lot), but it'd take away the hunt feeling if we could queue them up, fight them whenever we want and be teleported to the place. I'd rather accept the quest a weekly quest at the board, find the rare item/weather condition that will spawn the hunt and its location, get a full party and kill the mob. It would feel more like hunting than any open world/fate content would.
Playerbase can't control itself, so restrictions are needed, or not everybody gets its turn.Quote:

Just what this game needs more of....caps /green. People complain about the gated progression already, but now people want more of it? I don't understand this player base at times.
The patch isn't even a week old and it seems like a lot of people are enjoying this content. I don't see the issue with that. Yeah it's frustrating when you just miss out on them by a few seconds, but it's part of the fun for me. You gotta be on your toes and be with a good group of people.
Cap it at 2000, remove logs from A ranks but keep it for S ranks (one guaranteed drop), increase dailies by a factor of 10 (70/day), weekly is 200 seals, 10 seals for each duty roulette, 10 seals for pvp and frontlines (farm), and 10 seals for CT and ST (farm).
With all these implemented it will disperse the population into doing other things everyday rather than grinding for a week and then feeling burnt out and possibly leave the game. Also assuming you do only dailies and one run of duty roulette and one match of frontlines and pvp respectively, (not including the ct/st or pvp farm) for 7 days you will have 1110 seals. This is very manageable and for the true hardcore you can always farm the S ranks for logs.
That's how I would change it. But what do I know about this game, I only play it everyday and see how the people react to the current system >.>
They would have to reduce the ridiculous amount of Myth you can get from hunting too, or else all marks will still be endlessly camped. I know all the talk is about seals/sands, but I do know some people who do it for myth. I can't be the only person that finds it silly that Leviathan Extreme pays out 20 myth, but an easily soloable bear in the woods gives 30.
Capping what you get from elite marks per week isn't the solution.
The 2 things I see that would fix it are.
1. Hotfix that detects players using 3rd party radar program cheat then ban those players. The program exists. You can bait alot of these ppl out just by renaming your chocobo and going to the right zone.
2. Increase HP of elite marks dramatically. Given the rate of speed S ranks go down on Ultros I feel like that HP threshold should be the B ranks then increase from there for A and S ranks.
High Defense, High HP Pool, High Regen for the first 5min should be enough for ppl to gather (teleport) and get the kill.
Other than that. Instead of giving a cap. Why not giving only one time reward per NM each Week. That mean, you kill an NM once, you wont receive his reward twice (until next week).
Edit: and why not add some new abilities that you can buy with soldiery/allied that could enhance your allied/soldiery/mytho rate per mob (or maybe add the stats on the stuff that cost 2 arms at ilvl70...).
Capping Seals I dunno how I feel on it. I've been farming seals daily ~7k Seals farmed since patch. But due to hunts, I haven't really played anything else in game since patch and the community has become really toxic. A Cap could potentially fix this, but the game has so many caps/lockouts already.
No more caps please!
This game's got enough of loot locks and currency caps, and quest caps, and everything to slow down everyone
Hunt fixes in patch:Sidenote:Quote:
The following adjustments have been made to “The Hunt”:
- Elite marks maximum HP has been increased.
Rank B maximum HP has been raised from solo to light party level, Rank A maximum HP has been raised from light party to full party level.
Although the Rank S maximum HP level was already intended for multiple parties, we have further raised the necessary number to require even more parties.
Similar to Odin and Behemoth, because raising the maximum HP of Rank S means stressed server loads due to the concentration of players, we plan to make ongoing adjustments as we watch the server situation.
- As the elite marks HP is increased, the amount of contribution points which affects the reward after defeating will be eased.
- S rank elite marks will have top display priority.
Because the elite marks maximum HP have been changed to reflect the party numbers required, we are also looking into adjusting the amount from the “Regular mark bills” and “Elite mark bills” reward. We will continue to make careful content adjustments as we monitor player trends and server stress loads.
No more Titan tank~Quote:
- An issue in “The Striking Tree (Hard)” and “The Striking Tree (Extreme)”, wherein the damage taken by pets was abnormally low.
Well they just posted the patch notes, and they buffed Hunt mobs' HP. Not an ally seal cap, but it's something that, if it works would be even better imo
I really hope the HP was raised by alot on high populated servers like mines, otherwise its still just going to be killed within seconds of spawning and not matter :\
It'll still be a zerg. There's no real way to fix open world mobs that allow everyone to attack them. With these fixes more people will probably participate since it's a "fix," and it's a new week for a new Elite Hunt Bill. People are probably expected an Allied Seals nerf sometime so they'll be going at it even harder.
The notes say B ranks are adjusted for a light party. When is the last time you saw a light party tackle a B rank? A rank adjusted for a full party. Does SE not realize that 50-100 people show up to fight these? They might live 2 seconds longer now. Won't change anything.
Speaking of the weekly elite bill, was it Naul for all the other servers? I know it's shared for all players on at least one server, but don't know if that expands farther, to the server cluster or even game wide.
Maybe a scaling HP system like they have for fates, if a billion and 5 people show up, an S rank will have Odin like HP (pre-nerf) next round?
"- As the elite marks HP is increased, the amount of contribution points which affects the reward after defeating will be eased."
Does this mean it'll be easier to get seals even if you are only able to get in few hits/actions/abilities before the hunt target is zerged down , and/or easier to get seals even if you're not in a full party at the time?
Don't know how much this will help, but should help at least a little and I'm glad they're attempting to get some fixes in.
and then people wont even help by the end of the week because they dont get anything out of them.
That's what I assumed, that a bronze/silver/gold reward level will all be easier to get (even though a medal doesn't show up, the contribution reward seems to have 3 tiers like fates)
Heck I don't even bother with some FATEs anymore because of the atma farming. Some of the regular targets are FATE bosses, go figure SE. To me that makes me feel SE is being lazy.
