Just curious. I'll be able to try t later today, but I'd love to read some opinions on it. I've tried Frontlines a few time and love it, but the queue wasn't too fun.

Yes. I queued, it popped in less than a minute, about 64 people accepted, but when the 45 second timer was over, those who accepted got thrown into Frontlines and the rest of the members were added later.
Very fun.
Don't forget the join in progress, a must-have for that!
Great! Thanks for letting me know. Hopefully they give us an option to always queue to join in progress for Frontlines.
It's so much better now. Just don't forget when you queue for frontlines, you click join in progress too!
what else did they fix? At the following time, in order to implement Frontline matchmaking features as well as address issues anyone know what "issues" were adresssed
Thanks op for creating this thread now I have something to look forwad to after work.
Five? Six? matches back to back, with no waiting time at all. Works like a charm!
Even though I don't plan to participate in Frontlines, this is great to hear that SE listened, made a fix that makes sense and did it relatively quickly.
Greetings,
I’m excited to hear players are enjoying the adjustments made to the Frontline queue! I have some extra goodies to share with the Frontline community.
The development team is aware of the issue where players are unable to vote kick other party members while in Frontline because they are considered to be in battle, and they are currently looking into addressing this. Once the specific method for addressing and the implementation period is decided, we’ll let you know.
The result screen when you finish a Frontline match is currently organized in alphabetical order, but we’ll be looking into a feature that will allow you to sort the results in other ways, such as total damage or total number of kills. This should help you see where you rank against others more easily!
Keep providing us with your Frontline feedback, and we will be sure to get as many of your requests and questions answered as we can.
See you on the Frontline!
It was fun.. up until I started seeing Dragoons bee-lining for melee limit breaks that have so far been interruptible.
Since its pvp ill pass...
>.> It also makes you feel amazing when you completely own someone lol I'm not into pvp much either, but frontlines is pretty fun, you know, unless you get stuck guarding a base and no one comes lol
But I'm glad they did this. I got tired of 1-2 hour queues because some people think it's funny to withdraw spam or queue then completely go afk forever -.- I get that some people might have something come up and have to get up for a minute, but at least withdraw then or something if you don't know how long you'll be gone. I mean, if I'm in a queue and I have to go to the bathroom, I can still hear the chime and come back in time to accept it, but the ones who queue then seem to be gone forever are just wasting other people's time :/
This ^ Not that it's anything big or important, I just look ridiculously stupid with my actual gear's combination (plus boner tail) lol
Not that gear matters much anyways when you get whms who spam sprint and are still able to fully cure people >.> I can't tell you how many times I've laid into someone, only for them to be fully cured...by a whm running around.
Edit: Actually, this seems to be a lot of jobs that are kind of broken in frontlines. Casters being able to cast while moving, no interruptions (this includes healers, it seems like they get 0 interruption and can get off big cures while sprinting). Whms, before they even cure, are harder to kill than a tank (a healer should die fast, low def etc). Somehow a smn in darklight-ish was doing 600+ ruins on people. Not to mention that if you're a blm and get hit once, you're interrupted, but if you're hitting a whm/sch/smn, they're perfectly fine. This one might be due to server lag, but some melee being able to hit you from quite a distance, while you're running
I don't want that personally. Seeing your opponent's gear allows you to assess their stats and skill in a quick manner (someone with full High Allagan vs. Someone in full Artifact, ie), and allowing glamor would prevent such a gauge. I also don't want to see a full alliance of snow men either... there's certain immersions that shouldn't be touched.
I haven't done frontlines yet, how much reward do you get for winning and losing?
Can people just spam join in progress to keep losing and get rewards? >_>
Targeting players just because of their lower gear isn't very fair lol. I'd rather have my ass handed to me by a very skilled player (in what is essentially a leveled playing field due to ilvl cap) than deal with the snoozefest of picking off undergeared players, not bettering the way I play, and cowering in fear of people in HA gear.
Some of the fun to be had in PvP is having some degree of unity. It's equivalent to the old school clans that people would form back in the day, where the games didn't support such things, but rather people had to do things that made them seem unified (e.g. account names with clan names attached, similar looks, etc).
In a few weeks this method of scanning isn't going to work because, due to the i80 sync, some low pieces are actually better than the "high level" drops. My SCH set (crit/speed) looks very different and uses pieces from CT1 and Myth set, even though I have downed T9.
Seeing as everyone has the job nametags as enemies, I don't see why glamour can't be allowed. I would absolutely love charging into battle on my Roegadyn alt, Incredulous Bulk. You can guess what he looks like.
I didn't anticipate liking PvP, but honestly I cannot get enough of it. I actually seem to improve after each battle, too, which just makes it all the more exciting. And now that the queueing issue is fixed, I'll be using it to grind myths and wolf marks. I am even going to start a Twin Adder LS on my server, just to bring a coordinated team in. It's really THAT fun! It makes me feel a strong sense of community with my GC brethren that impresses upon me more than the outcome of the battles themselves.
Two PvP suggestions for WHM:
- During PvP, make it so we can cast protect on our alliance members as well as our party members.
- During PvP, make it so we can cast Medica and/or Medica II on alliance members, as well as our party members.
Actually the second suggestion might make WHMs too powerful, but I'd still like to cast protect on alliance members in the field, if that doesn't turn out to be too game-changing to do.
Keep up the great work, SE (and community team members)!
frontlines is a lot better since the update..now if only we can do something about the sore losers that rage quit.
I, too, was surprised at just how much I enjoy Frontlines, despite my dislike of the Wolves Den. I probably sat down for about two hours straight and just kept queuing for matches, and even though my GC only won one out of the six or so matches (c'mon Maelstrom!) I was having a lot of fun with it. That said, I do hope that Morale is added into the mix at some point, because I really think it'd be cool to see a group all decked out in the animal-themed armor sets. Or at the very least allow Glamour to be visible, heh.
I am really liking Frontlines more than I thought I would. Could be due, in part, to Immortal Flames utterly dominating in Balmung, but just the fact that the i100 PVP gear is actually within my reach now... it's pretty great! Also, I can run Frontlines as a huge part of capping my weekly Soldiery.
Need to make it so PvP gear is the best gear for PvP!
Good way to do that? Make PVP gear immune to ilvl sync in PVP content. I think that would definitely help matters. That way, folks in PVP can wear whatever they want and don't have to worry about arbitrary stats like Morale and, if they do wear PVP gear over i80, they should at least have superior base stats vs. PVE gear.
Most of the High Allagan weapons are poor for Frontlines (only the High Allagan Spear is a BiS) due to their lack of Determination and either Critical Hit Rate or Skill Speed/Spell Speed.
The ones to fear are those in a either a mismash of i80+ or the new i80 Dungeon gear.
Bad idea. Unless you want players that have 20% more hp and deal out 20% more damage/healing than everyone else running around.
Newp.
Leave it as is so theres a level playing field between those who win-traded abused their way to r40 gear and the new players setting foot in Frontlines. PvP should be about teamwork and skill, not who has the best gear. Fortunatly for the rest, Yoshi took the smart option and ilvl synched.
How about the people who bought second coil victories to get High Allagan gear? See, I can speculate about illegitimate methods of getting high-end gear too.
Besides, as this is a PVP mode, PVP gear should have a slight edge--yet not a significant one--in this mode.
Im not saying to make it so its such a huge advantage that pvp gear users roflstomp those without, Im saying make it so when the gear is scaled down to ilvl80(just like normal gear) the PvP only stats will be good enough to cover for the missing stats.
PvP gear is pointless if you can't even wear it in PvP, what we gona do? just glamor our regular gear and walk around town in it? If so then the prices should be lowered or other rewards added to be purchasable with wolf marks.
I know morale doesn't work in frontlines but how about the PvP materias? I've seen BLM loaded with stun resistant materia in Wolves Den. Not that it matters that much now that stuns and sleeps are nerfed.
