Augmented Armor Glow Glow Glow

From the patch notes, I thought it was only the primal weapons that are gonna reworked to get a glow. Happened to stumble upon these:

Sure it looks cool now, kinda simple but what will happen in the future if they go overboard with these glows lol.

Subjective likes still yea, I just don't to see Mor Dhona or wherever filled with pulsating shiny fairies.

It was in the trailer, at one point. They all wore crafted, and they glowed.

But yeah, I think they'll add an option to disable it eventually. Wouldn't worry too much.

Do the stats change?
If not, you're looking at a 400-600k gil glow effect...

What's the difference between that and it being filled with fat chocobos?

I hope they will allow us to turn that glow off for self and everyone else. The glow from other peoples relics already irritates me. :(

I don't even think it looks cool now. I thought it looks awful and I can't believe that something like this was given the green light. I hate to complain about things but this just looks terrible. Where is the glow even coming from? It's kinda just there.

Please. Pretty please. Get rid of these augmented armors. They are an eyesore and I loathe the day I come across someone actually wearing one of these.

While I wasn't thoroughly impressed by them, some are. I support variety in most forms as far as MMOs go but this isn't something I'll be purchasing, much less crafting personally.

Know you know I don't dig glows in general, but that seriously just looks like a light blue grease stain

well, that don't take off the point that all of this is for.... wait we gonna look like light bulb?
gonna be really really smart to have this of armor in the frontline, while trying to ambush someone.

no seriously, all the change about vanity that was bring with 2.3 was horrible, the AF that can be dye that recquire... (depending of the server) around 5-6 million for get all the item for have it and this...
SE really need to fire the tester... 2.2 was the grind patch, 2.3 will be the patch of the... illogism.

Already seen someone with an augmented chest piece today! It was glowing just like that. Looked pretty cool.

Yeah I have made a couple and sold them to players on my server. They look awesome when equipped, but they cost a LOT to make. You have to make the REGULAR ilvl 90 piece, and then use it with MORE materials to make it augmented. It requires new desynth items from ilvl 70 items as well. Its expensive to make, but they look amazing!

If you don't like it (and are on the PC), go to System Config, Graphics Settings, and set the "Glare" option to "Off."

We really shouldn't have to turn off effects entirely just because they decided to put in ugly glowing armor. I'm sorry.

No change in stat and anything else at all? simply glow?

This is quite honestly the dumbest crafting recipe I have ever seen. You're spending 3 times the cost of the base item to make the same item, with a risk of losing everything, with a glow effect.

Yep, no stat changes. In balmung, you need to fork over 1-2 million gil worth of mats + the actual base item and the tip to the crafter just for a glow.

By the way: The armor glow can vanish after a death in instances, least while glamoured anyway. It seems to be client side, so others may still see it.

It really clashes with the whole aesthetic.

At first I didn't care for them. Not something I would wear but they don't look half bad.

All these people asking to be able to hide the glow effect on other people are selfish. I want to turn off some of your choice in crappy looking vanity but you don't see me asking for that option lololol... No, I'm being serious. Some peoples choice in vanity looks horrible xD

I could understand to turn off my glow as a vanity thing but this isn't right.

So the people who grind for their glow/aura effect can't show it off to other people? That's just wrong in my personal opinion. I don't care for glow either but I'm not gonna ask to not see others because I I I me me me doesn't like what others do.

Edit. Yeah I do realize this can go both ways in terms of what others want. I just think it's not right.

Last time I checked, vanity was for your own fun not for others, hence the word vanity. I use the vanity system to enjoy my kind of aesthetics, for me. Whatever anyone does is up to them, let them be free, they may have different tastes, doesn't mean they're wrong or horrible, I won't judge them and you shouldn't too. Who knows, your choice of vanity may look horrible to them?

If i think someones vanity is good, I might be impressed, I might even whisper them that it's good, but this is me noticing it. I wouldn't want it all shoved in my face saying "Hey, look at me, notice me, I'm shiny." There's a difference between being smart and original and being a walking flashlight.

A bit late on that. They put glows on stuff when they can't be bothered to do anything else to distinguish them from other articles of clothing, weapons, or whatever.

For example, you get the relic > Upgrade to Zenith (nice new glow) > Atma (oh, there goes my glow) > Animus (Get your glow back) > Novus (Glow...but different colour).

I just feel like slapping a glow onto something is a cheap and easy way to get away with showing an upgrade in something. I love the blood rendering on the Bravura Atma and would much prefer something more menacing like perhaps the blood dripping from it rather than some stupid sparkles. I want to be barbaric and swing my axe. Not be Barbie and throw pink sparkles.

I agree but I'm not going to hold it against people if people like it like that, more choices the better! Another idea might be to change in the actual physical properties/appearance that shows an actual improvement.

The option to toggle glowing gear will be fine. It'll be good company to the grass toggle I keep off.

Found that the WHM glow seems to fit..

And I'm used to more than that as per glowing goes, so far.

Now make Ifrit the same size please! ^^
