I secretly hoped we wouldn't need MP and that it was a mistake on the auto attack video. Ah well, only play will tell how it goes. Simian thrash potency increased and second wind dropped down to 45 seconds is nice. Was kinda hoping featherfoots timer would be dropped a bit too and pug exclusive.
How do you guys feel so far just by the reading?

I like it :D it sucks that Taunt/II had it's cooldown increased but overall I'm happy with what I've seen so far :D

It sucks a lot, light strike, is now a once in the while gimmick, Combo mechanics dissapear. looks like the game is going back to a wait for tp style game, because your basic abilities are now even less common than weaponskills. For all melee this is bad, but i play pugilist most so it really hits me, mp cost kind of sucks, but with long timers, most of these skills can not be used that much anyhow, and skills like light strike which gave pugilist tank potential, no longer do so, just acts as an small time buff, unless the duration of the buff is greatly increased.
The non battle stuff seems cool, but this battle style seems to be a long ways a way from fun, or interesting in text. -

Just playing around I have 184 Evasion, but I don't really build around it most of the time. If DEX starts affecting it to the extent that is beneficial that'd be nice. True, Archers would be more evasive most of the time... but Archer's aren't the ones required to evade to use stronger skills.

I liked the PGL changes...other than basic attacks it was pretty much enhanced. IMO only PGL and GLA might be satisfied with the patch...and LNC, ARC and DoM might be pissed as hell!

Kinda pissed about Light strike requiring MP now. Gonna miss tanking on PUG :(
Would've be nice if the gave us a "Meditate" type ability that restores MP, similar to Second Wind.
Other than that, the rest of the changes seem great and/or reasonable. I'm eager to see how Victimize II and Simian Thrash have changed. -

way i see it pug has taken a nerf. Lnc will rule basic DD and Arc is only slightly changed. Pug will no longer be able to tank anywhere near a glad, who has basically got a boost to DD and tanking. -

I evade fairly consistently on most things, and on NMs or higher ranked mobs in general you can pretty much ensure an evade with Featherfoot II. As far as the 60sec Taunt... yeah that sucks but it isn't absolutely terrible. With Intimidation and Accomplice I barely use it anyway.Quote:

Well... you can only Flurry every 60 seconds. Flurry isn't the main source of hate anyway.
Yeah I was just talking to somebody about how you can't Perma-Light Strike (unless as you stated, the buff lasts 30+ seconds) anymore but it still. That doesn't stop you from using it in conjunction with Featherfoot II.
I'm not sure how Intimidation works with Accomplice but regardless, you're still stealing hate. -

Also, need to check if the light strike buff duration wasn't increased (i'd expect it to)...if it stays up the time light strike is down then its all good. First off Light Strike buff is 10 seconds, not 8 and the recast is 30 seconds not 20. Sure this seems steep but after soloing mobs 9-11 levels higher than me (cobs in copper) I have to admit that it almost seems like the evasion rate is greatly increased on it. It's like a mini Featherfoot for me. Every time I have it up I seem to evade about half of the attacks for that 10 seconds. I NEVER experienced a good rate of evasion with it pre-patch to the point where I would rarely use it or I absolutely needed that small chance of evasion.
I don't think PGL got nerfed so much, at least for solo or small group playing for fun. Definitely can't tank now unless you have every single hate-making ability though with that 60 second recast on Taunt >.<. I also have been noticing Victimize land much more often and Concussive Blow actually sticking its effect nearly 100% now. Both seem to do a bit more damage as well. My basic auto attack even seems to do more than my Pummel did. I only use Pummel when I need an emergency Second Wind nowadays though... Invigorate takes care of TP issues since it works so long as your fists are up now and not only if you're fighting.
With auto-attack I'm even able to land Haymaker/Jarring Strike every single evade unless I'm healing myself. Once in a while even landing a JS>HM>JS instead of just stopping at the HM! Patch was great for PGL in my opinion. -
