Monsters Death Penalty

To start off with I'd like to ask a quick question " Can some monsters also use Raise and Resurrect abilities?

Now to the main point I'll get right to the issue at hand, Devs! I want see someday monsters having The Death Penalty as well :). Since players are getting it it might not be such a bad idea to evening the playing field and share the love! as you go .

of course since mob death and character death are very different but also similar; Edit: [KO] and the function itself, the penalty would differ greatly.

the characters get (Weakness & Brink of Death)
the monsters get (Restraint & Death Rage), as it has been used before in games it is a decent feature so let it be in ffxiv as well, or something.

Their Death Penalty is that they die and they don't come back

Well that's quite unbalanced isn't it.

This makes my brain hurt. You want monster to suffer a penalty upon respawning?

As for the raising....it would be kinda cool if an enemy party could revive fallen allies forcing you to bring down the healer first.

Wights do I think, or they just randomly resurrect each other.

But a death penalty for monsters is a bad idea.

(Revive Abilities) is Acceptable but the (Penalty) is Unacceptable?.... you've got to except the good with the bad. On one hand if a monster could use [Resurrection] or [Raise] it's (*good) it would help make some battles more engaging and fun right?, on the other hand monsters get a penalty for reviving allies is (*bad)?, . . . . Contradiction!, this is not bad at all. If my logic is mistaken enlighten me please.

Here's an Example of what I think possibly might work:
( HP 25% Decreased , Attack Power 25% Increased)

i like this idea but only on intelligent mobs or magical and used on links/party with restrictions to only be used once per mob. Of course not allowing us to get full SP from revived one again :D

mine too, but it's got to be said..:D as the penalty triggers during battle when an revive ability is used. and I did say respawn yes but rethinking that's when it [death] happens, when the battle ends, . . . mmm this is hard.

For most mobs, I'd say no.

However, it could be fun to have some parties of Beastmen / Humanoid mobs with a healer in them capable of raising fallen party members.

Skeletons "Feign death" with low HP to catch you off guard, it also regenerates any incapacitated limbs IE: Head.

It's not.

I dont see a problem with some beast tribes and the garlean empire soldiers being able to resurrect each other, maybe in certain fights and such. This way, players would have a kill first target - the healer/resser. Game needs to have interesting battles like those so players can stay on their toes (oo a rhyme).

Aside from NMs, the monster that respawns is not the same monster you kill. Players revive at the aetherite, monsters just pop. Giving them a death penalty just makes them easier to kill. Where's the fun in that.

OOo like the mobs in sea that were RDM, but reraise O.o, yeah the only mob I see in xiv that has a reraise are the wights.

You might expect a similar effect from beastmen, once we start fighting them as a party, like Amal'jaa WHM, Amal'jaa PUG, Amal'jaa PLD etc, in instances or missions, they might raise each other etc. Normal mobs, i dont see it happening, unless normal mob dies and a small % it can reraise instantly into a Notorious monster or a high lvl version of it.

It would be stupid to do that in the wild, but as someone said it wouldn't be a bad idea if it was limited to Garleans and beast tribe members in some areas. It'd just be annoying during exp sessions, but it would give another dimension to instanced fights etc I suppose.

As stated in the op that the effect could differ greatly, as we don't know what could come later on.

Here's a few examples: Death Rage: the next monster spawn goes into a rage attacking any near players because of it's fallen companion. Death Counts (*this is a classic): the next monster doesn't have long to live, it's HP is halved, ( however it's Double SP to the one who kills it). Fear: the monster becomes afraid and runs away with any encounter. Confusion: the next monster spawns will become confused and attacks miss or attack allies. Revenge: after one monster is defeated two more quickly take it's place, and so on.

. . . it doesn't only have to be reduction effect with %.
