On a serious note, it must suck to have one yet, but stop think about something, is it really such a big issue that you have to flood the forums with a 100 different threads every day whining about how you can't get an atma? The atma weapon has no statistical changes from the zenith, and the animus isn't even best in slot. So why all the crying over it? honestly, if it's this big a problem from you, then wait until they make it easier to obtain later down the road.

All the whining you guys do is your own fault, as no one is forcing you to farm fates for atmas. Square didn't stick the controller/keyboard in your hand and force you to farm, you did it to yourself. So the only person you can complain to, is you.

Some people can't do Coil/Leviathan so for them yes Animus would be best in slot, for them. I'm on my 3rd book, but I don't see why people can't complain.

Not saying they can't complain. Everyone has a right to complain. However, only the self centered will take that complaint to the forums and spam it over and over and over and over. Its the same thing as the "omg i'm quitting the game" threads, except without as much gtfo.

Really though, why do you feel the need to interject multiple times in every thread about the issue? If the complaints bother you then just stop reading them.

No, it's twelve 2% drops, per weapon, that by themselves don't even get you any reward, they simply grant you the ability to start upgrading your weapon.

Anyone that isn't an utter masochist can see the glaring problems with the system.

You know if they just tied this to an instanced area with mobs that were up 100% of the time less people would complain because with fates you have to wait for them to pop, run to them, and kill multiple mobs or one boss to finish it and hope you get the drop. While with an instanced area with mobs every mob has a chance to drop it at the same 2%. I'd prefer this grind method over an event.
The reason I mention "instanced" is so a party or a single person can enter and grind all the mobs they please preventing a cluster of players in the same area and causing mobs to die quicker than they spawn.

We need some kind of place where people can complain about terrible game mechanics and lick our wounds while sharing in each others' sadness. Maybe some kind of internet forum? I don't know...

I actually enjoy it. I have one atma weapon and am working through books. I am also working on a second atma weapon. I usually just do some fates while waiting on df. I think the key is to not be in a rush. Break up your gaming time with some different activities. If all you do is farm atma your going to get upset.

I like the process. So if they changed it, I wouldn't be happy. Saying that... They have people on either side of the fence. One person will be happy, One will whine on the forums about it being to grindy and rng being unfair...

I was at odds with ATMA, it took me five days to gather all 12, but I wasn't planning on getting them just yet, but why did I? because of the last patch, I was one of the people that keeps getting 9k'd and just attacked with huge lag, so bad can't even do any raid, primal, dungeons, so what else was I gonna do? Gather Atma. Is not that bad, if you don't get an Atma after 30 minutes on one place, you should port to another and try there.

You're mistake, is assuming I read all of those threads. In fact, you don't have to read ANY of them, you just have to look at the title, which before you say "well you don't have to read that either" you actually do have to read it to get a simple understand of what the thread is(sometimes misleading though). I have read a few, we all have.

The number you need is not reflective on the item's drop rate. It is STILL a 2% drop rate. When I needed 5 Heavenly rathalos scales, which are 1% drops, they weren't magically a 5% drop. And if you think it's that big of an issue, then you haven't played a game with real farming in it. This game is pathetic when it comes to grinding.

Ah, but see that's where you're only half right. You can complain on a forum, however too many complaints relating to the same topic usually warrants action on other forums. Any forum that doesn't begin locking and eventually punishing users for posting the same thread over and over is one that A. doesn't moderate it's forums, or B. has mods that are more fixated on banning people for flamewars. guess which kind of forum this is. Everyone is free to complain, however this forum is reddit level bad with much crap people cry about on it. Hell, LoL's official forums aren't this bad, and there's 40 million people playin that game.

Yeah, which you need twelve of and not just one, which makes 2% seem a lot crappier than it would if you just needed one.

You could make anything sound easy by saying "oh, it has a 100% drop rate though!" but what if you needed a million drops? Both values are important.

Why would anyone want to play a game like that unless they were simply looking for timewasters and didn't care if they were actually having fun?

A grind done well is one that makes you forget about the fact you're grinding and actually has you wanting to keep going, either because the process involved is rewarding, or because the reward at the end of it is actually meaningful enough. Atmas don't qualify in any of these senses.

It's not whining when I do it everyone else is the whiner not me, nevermind these crybabies have much better arguments and suggestions on how to actually improve the game most of the time, I just never bother actually reading them because they're implying this game isn't perfect and I don't like that so I instantly disregard it!

This right here. There is no reason for the low drop rate or even any RNG on them at all considering there is even more grind after you spend hours and days trying to get the atma drops.

It's actually sad that you can't see the hypocrisy in your own post. You create a thread to complain about people making unnecessary threads to complain about something they don't have to do. Then you say they should get over themselves and that their complaints amount to "whining" and not "actual discussion."

You create a thread that is entirely unnecessary to complain about something you don't have to read. You don't acknowledge that there are valid points being made on the other side, but instead focus only on what you think and establish that it must be correct . . . well because you said so. And how is it more productive to tell people that what they believe is irrelevant because they don't have to do the content? Let's also not forget that your post is not the first to complain about the complainers, so the redundancy adds even less credibility to your argument.

I'm working on my eighth book, and I don't mind if people complain. The luck factor of the atma part of the quest can be very frustrating. It sort of reminds me of the Hamlet grind for relics in 1.0... except even then, if you were rich or resourceful enough, you could 'buy' your way to a guaranteed drop from each hamlet... however, you needed three items per hamlet defense per person... it took months to get everyone past this stage even when my LS dominated the donation slots. It's what people refer to as 'prolonging content' and making sure people can't progress too quickly. It's frustrating for people who get unlucky, but at least in this version of 'prolonging the quest' (atma drops), people with tons of money can't dominate. Plus, the double meld of 1.0... ugggghhhh. Such a money sink.

The only reason this is more tolerable than Hamlets is because I don't have to drag 7 other people along with me for hours in order to get nothing, the only persons' time I waste is my own.

Still, I thought the devs learned their lesson after that debacle.

i agree with Slatervonjager i have not got a levi weapon yet or high algan gear may be i should create a thread about it well its nobody's fault that i dont have one or maybe i should complain about the weekly reset on sol tomes because i have not capped before tuesday 4am for the reason i have not be playing much not because of the game just life stuff no it because i did not spend time on the game it is a game and just that it is just like real life complaing that one is working 40hrs a week and living pay check to pay check and cant afford much is it any ones fault no its mine because i choose not to go to college to get a degree in a filed that would pay me well down the road it is there own fault for not working for it this game is about working your butt off to get what you want i agree with the op becase it irratates me when i see such on the forum's it also irratate me on how ppl disrespect/trash talk yosh and the dev team because they want it there way becase they pay for the game to play it and have to pay each month and the game should court to every thing they want . these ppl have gone tru life where their parents have always gave them what they want so they complain they dont get thier way in this game and trash talk the dev team and yosh and majority of these ppl are kids because adults know they cant all ways get what they want and except that every thing you see in this game is so because it what ppl asked for heck yosh even gave ppl a chance to vote on some things and there is a thread where one can make suggestions whether they implament it or not its up to them tse relly do listen to thire player's and are always try to figure if they can put in the game after all there are a limatation to what they can do with thir program that they created and to be honest if se put every little thing into the game that every one wants either the game would be a mess or what little we do pay each month would cost even more do to the fact the have to spend more money to buy more servers and hardware se wants to keep this game affordable if the want to give players every thing they want sub could go up to $50 a month or more it is like having ice creme without the creme and after all this is not bk and one cant have it their way with games such as wow the ppl that complain on ffxiv is the same that complain in wow and the reason why it takes so long to get atma's is to make the zodiac longer to get unlike relics which with in a week ppl had multiple
