Stop it now. I'm fed up of getting tanks dolled up like snowmen, BRD's with reindeer antlers or BLM's with frickin pumpkin heads... Please make seasonal gear exempt from the vanity system.
That is all.

Spoilsport.
What's the point in having a vanity system then? People WANT to dress up how they want to. Its supposed to allow you to wear what ever you want. What other people think of what you wear doesn't matter.

People won't dress in a way that I find visually appealing! Make them stop!
Well it's here now.
Deal with it.
As harsh as that sounds, it's here now and it's here to stay, people wanted individuality in their gear, and they got it.
Stop it now. I'm fed up of getting dragoons dolled up like dragoons, BRDs with BRD gear or BLM's with frickin BLM gear... Please make these non-original gear exempt from the vanity system.
That is all.
I can understand where he's coming from. It's kind of lame to be in Coil with your tank being a snowman, makes the game
feel childish in a way. However, nothing we can do about it but keep on keepin' on. =/
They could offer an option for people to disable glamour slots and only see what players are actually wearing.
That would be a sensible alternative (I don't know how practical it would be programming-wise). I personally find all the people that went straight for coliseum looking gear and bikinis a bit boring (if only cause it's so predictable), but if that's what they wanna wear, more power to them. I'm not gonna ask SE to limit what people can do based on my personal preferences though.
People are having fun with system because it's new
It will change in few days~weeks
Relax
Or you can stop bitching and let people do whatever the hell they want to do.
Sure, believe what you want. I see little point in arguing it with you.
I'd just recommend people try not to be such killjoys and have fun for once.
If it's breaking your immersion then imagine your tank is addled from the calamity and decided to skin an elk to wear into battle.
Seriously, let people have some fun.
I love how you can glamour your gear to look like anything. I thought it was going to be as limiting as the one in WoW, but it's amazing that you can use level 1 gear for level 100 gear :D.
It's not my preference, but then again neither are names like "MyButt Stinks". That doesn't mean that my preference should limit those who prefer something sillier (or sometimes, something down right stupid). Suck it up, cupcake.
No, in fact allow us to glamour the reindeer and chocobo suits SE, I am sure you can find a way ...
Pretty please...
Also the Odin armor.
Haha, this probably has more truth to it than you know. I contemplated decking my PLD out in snowman gear (and I would have if I could convert the body piece for it onto my current stuff).. Sometimes after hundreds of dungeon runs you want to be silly to spice things up, lest you go insane.
While it doesn't bother me to see people having fun with the vanity system, it WOULD be nice to have an option to turn it off for the spoilsports out there. They deserve to have fun, too, and if they don't want to see my Miqo'te cosplaying as a pirate or a dancing boy, then they shouldn't have to.
I really hope the OP is not one of those people who used to gauge how "good" a player was by looking at his/her gear, and is now complaining because they have to Examine everyone.
Depends on the setting you're looking for. In a fantasy setting that takes itself somewhat seriously, you might see things that you wouldn't see in the real world, like wizards, mythical creatures, etc. but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll randomly see men in reindeer antlers on the field of battle.
Although I'm not arguing against vanity being in the game, I'm only pointing out that people have different opinions on what they enjoy in their fantasy setting and that's no reason to label someone who prefers one thing over another.
Immersion

Dinosaurs, Robots, Magic, bikini girls...so snowman and reinder not excluded.
Final Fantasy is about seriousness and fun too.(Hildibrand?)
That aside less people will use the seasonal gear for vanity in time (until new seasonal gear :) ), it's brand new.
In a world with Hildebrand, I don't see how tanks in snowmen suits can be a threat to immersion.
It's rare I see any glamour set that isn't entirely tacky.
Oh you combined the bikini top with a skirt and SMN AF feet. How sexy and original!
But it is what it is. I wasn't particularly in favour of a glamour system because I think part of earning your stripes in an MMO is looking ridiculous for the best stats. That way those of us who are less uber at the game can at least laugh at those who are (behind their back while they carry us through content).
Not that I'm particularly against it, either. But a toggle would keep most of the disasters off my screen, while those people get to see what they want to see.
The glamour system is already limited enough. It doesn't need any more limitations, tyvm.
Besides, I couldn't rightly rank these in order of "awfulness": a "tacky" glamour set, a reindeer tank (or anything similar), or a clone army wearing all the same pieces.
Hey, it's no different from the ridiculous ballers with baggy jeans out in the streets... You'll hate what people wear everywhere... even in your game.
Just need to disable glamour in dungeons. Simple. SE will do it soon I believe. That's what they did to minions in instances.
Have 'Dispel Glamour' be a single target spell and have any character who casts it loudly announce "Wah wah, I'm a big miserable spoilsport."
Problem solved.
Remember FF X-2!Quote:
reindeer tank (or anything similar)
