You're ruling out the chance of Diabolos Hard Mode!

The reason Ultima became its own trial was because it was such a popular and cool fight, so if the fan base is loud enough about it, we could see more of him!

On a separate note, Summoners are not getting a Diabolos Egi before Leviathan even if he WAS a primal in the lore.

yup i was dissapointed too, diabolos deserved to be a prime fight! , oh well....maybe he comeback as Diabolos HM/ Extreme later on , SE like to recycle content :P

being a dungeon boss ,doesnt mean diabolos wont be a summon :P, but levithan is going to be the next egi 99%

Diablos is a minor summon, mostly famous for FFVIII and a bit for FFXI too.
Siren is, too. Siren has been given a place in Eorzea's lore with her own dungeon, and Diablos is getting the same. We can't have the summoner class being able to summon every single one of the dozen summons of the saga, but it's nice that even the minor ones find a place somehow.

If we want to go down this path, Carbuncle has always been a summon that either casted Regen or Reflect on you, thus he's technically a 'minor summon' - Yet here he's not even a summon that benefits you like usual.

Garuda is an EXTREMELY minor summon most notably, in your words, has an appearance in FFXI...why was she one here..hm? I mean "Minor summon" is your logic for it being a boss, Garuda should have only been a boss.

If they're keeping the theme of element-based summons I'd imagine you'll see Diabolos making an appearance at some point but I'd hazard a guess and say they'll go down the route of the prime elements of water, ice, lightning etc before turning their attention to darkness and light-based summons.

Siren was a silence/non-element summon, fair play on that one.

Also, I'd never suggest that Diabolos-Egi come before Leviathan, heck, were still waiting on Shiva.

And if so called 'minor' summons get there own dungeons. I am looking forward to the Doom Train dungeon.

Seems most of the primals match an element and a beast race.

He does look awesome, but he should be the Umbral Primal... but I suppose as NoloeTazier has mentioned, Fenrir fills that roll as well.

Astral*(Light) and Umbral*(Dark) fixed ;o tbh once Siren was confirmed for Pharos Sirius boss it became a given that other iconic FF symbols wouldn't be a Primal or Elder Primal. Diabolos will have more to do with the void than being a Primal (probably?). Now I hope Fenrir becomes an Elder Primal, after all Dalamud was called "Menphina's Hound" and Fenrir is a hound~ kinda...but seriously he'll probably just end up the boss of Amdapor Keep Hard Mode.

The Tonberry are the sick people of Nym, the othe lost civilization. There isn't anything to link them to a Voidsent demon like Diabolos. Siren, Tonberry King, Mog/Moogle, and Diabolos were apparently never meant to be summons in this game.

In XI, Diabolos are summon specialize in dark magics, which includes Death. He also known as some sort of Lord of the dream who creates the world called Dynamis, which is basically the what-if scenario when land of Vanadiel are in total ruin. Not something you can take lightly.

Play FFXI and play through her specific storyline. Diabolos was minor in FFVIII, sure, but he sure as heck wasn't in XI considering a good chunk of the lore and storyline revolves around him and what he's capable of, that's like saying Squall, Edea, Ultimecia and Riona were characters that had zero significance in FFVIII.

He's already a primal, but it doesn't feel like it lol. He was supposed to be one of the "few" roaming primals you can battle.

Eventually Ifrit/Titan/Garuda will be FATEs, and the FC that gets claim/kill will be able to use them as a one-time-use limit break type move...at least that was what the devs were thinking about a year ago.

What? FATEs have nothing to do with being an Elder Primal. It's based on the Lore history, Odin's Lore history is that he's an Elder Primal. It seems the difference between Elder Primals and Primals is that Primals need crystals to be summoned and when defeated that aether returns to the land (or partially). For Elder Primals it's clearly not the case as both Odin and Bahamut were not killed and had to be sealed, yes we defeat Odin in the FATE but Odin is an odd case and the entire story of his being hasn't been explained yet, just theories atm (such as why he changes forms to those that defeat him).

Edit: As for Behemoth, they're merely strong monsters in Eorzea.

big fate boss doesnt mean elder primal .....Odin is a fate just because SE wanted odin to roam around on the forest other than that ....

While I do agree that Odin should be a primal, I think it's just pure fandom that tricks us into thinking he is, when the game doesn't consider him to be one.

But like many have said, Odin is a special case and his lore hasn't fully been released, so it's all only speculations. He could be a Primal, or he couldn't be, we may never know.

If you look at it that way, you're definitely gonna be upset.

In my view, I think Diabolos (and Siren) is so cool that, they get their own dungeon, not some measly arena to fight them in. And they're like "yo dude, I'm so fly dem little summoners can't make an egi out of me"
