I just most of these achievment rewards kind of..... "suck"
Can we get better ones? Like for instance all of them. Thanks.

To make this thread somewhat useful:
Which achievement does the chocobo outfit come from?
No all that's stuff great. But yeah The Luninary Tools are just... bad.
Also vanity is cool and all but no way I'm going to even try hard at all to get such garbage achievments.
I know I could be nicer and more political about this but man they are just.... close to worthless.
I agree!
All the rewards are useless (achievment & event), lvl 1 rewards & lvl 50 ilvl 50-55 rewards Honestly dont deserve to be called rewards.
In 1.0 at least they were useful like the crowns could be used for almost any class in any instance because they were useful ,they had acceptable stats & defence. e.t.c.
Honestly the "Rewards" in ARR are so bad & useless they really shouldnt be giving us anything & no im not being sarcastic i do mean it 100%!
I'd much rather have items i can use & display!!! rather than items i can't use or display! (& by use i do mean long term!)
You can display minions, mounts, armor, weapons. you can't (really) display accessories ~ thats like asking a blind man to look for the dollar you dropped.
End of the day i suppose your doing me a huge favour with this game, giving me no reason to do achievements so i have more time to do other things like play Day Z, Rust, Tera, DCU e.t.c.. So thank you!
Events... fun to do,...something to do has exp & gil which is good. only downside is most of the rewards.
EDIT: I'd also like to point out the vanity system is ill conceived & not well thought out compared to how it should of been from the start.... Anyone with mmo's experiance will understand this. So to say Vainity will solve how useless these items are, thats not justifyed & its just a stupid thought!
To be clear in not saying the vanity system we havnt tryed yet is crap, im saying from we know from being told Theres alot of missing bits & pieces.... So we'll wait until we tryed it before saying anything of the sort. Just saying we'll i said it above its up to you to understand it & if you came to the conclusion i ment its crap then you are wrong.
Being negative? Nope just not a blind idiot, alot is wrong, yay 2.2, but none of the issues that have been there since release have been sorted or addressed, Safe to say with this track record there never going to be & thats what lets this game down. I'd love to say yay good job e.t.c. but when nothings done to fix obvious flaws or things that could of been better from the start, or in other cases No way in hell should of been there since the start. Well..... Its just impossible to give praise.
Veteran Rewards on the other hand are good.
Welp! With the upcoming vanity system you'll be able to use the crowns if you so wish.
That is their actual point, though.
The rewards only exist so you can show you did it, they are effectively useless! Achievements exist for bragging rights only, really.
That's kind of the point for most of them.
If the items earned via achievements actually had valuable stats on them, the achievement ceases to be something optional the players can do if they feel like it and instead becomes something they must do, whether they want to or not, in order to remain competitive.
They're vanity gear, useless stat-wise but very visually appealing, a sign of achievement to prove you really did something challenging, essentially a trophy that you hang on the wall or place on a shelf. The only real exception to this is the Master [Class] rings you get by completing the hunting log for that class; those rings are actually fairly decent to use given the item level.
I'm surprised people hate the Luminaries so much when in my opinion they are the only Achievement Rewards worth using. They have exactly the same stats as the Questable level 50 Counterparts, but have the bonus "Reduced Durabiliy Loss +10" on them. Thus the Luminaries are an upgrade (though not by much.)
Appearance wise they are awesome. Giant golden crafting weapons on your back; the Armorsmith Luminary looks like a giant Warhammer. And 2.2 is giving all of the Luminaries the same visual "Crafting Tables" as the level 50 one's so they don't use the generic wooden tables any more.
Oh, and the Gilded Magitech is just bada$$ (^_^)
I agree with Luminary tools, in 1.0 they were awesome and very worthy of the work required to get the achivements, but now, at least the gathering ones are no better than the final class quest rewards, making them more a "I might see it eventually" item rather than an "OMG I must have that" item.
Yes it surperficial content
And at the same time it is superficial content that people like and do. It has challanges, offers you no rewards, pretty much. Yet you will see a lot of people who hit platinum in various games on PSN.
People, who are not you or like you, enjoy those. I particularly like the titles, and I like knowing i've completed the quest and exploration-related achievements even if it gives me nothing.
Yeah, that's actually the point - You were supposed to "eventually" get it while you did your normal crafting, not something you grind for. They only exist now to keep those who did obtain it happy otherwise you can be guaranteed they would have vanished. That's why the class quest ones are the exact same in the ways that matter. Maybe they'll update it, but otherwise achievement items aren't supposed to be good.
Or else it creates another 'grind' that people fear so much.
Considering I did 2,110 just for making money as culinarian..pretty much those who crafted for a profit would have done it eventually rather than going out their way to do it as if they had to do it. (since normally grinding means doing something you don't like doing.)
Hell most SB gear rested in 35-50+ range as well.
I've been crafting and selling two star recipes non-stop for the past 4 months (2.0 character.) I went from 6mil to 50mil from the beginning of 2.1 and randomly got the Weaver Luminary a few weeks ago. When I checked my progress I was 70% complete on five more Luminaries; though Alchemy and Culinarian were very far behind. I would consider myself a very hardcore crafter but it's still possible to get them naturally when you're aiming for profit. Though it would've taken me years to finish Alchemy at my current rate so I did end up grinding the rest of the Luminaries in the end.
First off it's nice to see people actually read the dev post..... (Sarcasm)
Secondly lets talk about these so called achievement items, more so in the crafting area. Craft 2000 items of level 31-40. Now if you actually look at it, quick synth 2000 items while you go AFK. Really a lot of hard work there. Now if it was craft 2 star items 2000 times to get Luminary item, then you have a right to complain because that would be challenging. Right now it's just time and dedication, not skill and challenge.
My only legit problem with achievement rewards is that the titles aren't really in open display as much as I would like them to be. That's really it.
I agree, the amount of work compared to the reward just doesn't even out.
