[Suggestion] Please list the person who initiates a Vote Abandon

I am frankly sick of the "anonymity" of Vote Abandon.
I've joined Garuda Extreme several times this week and between 1-3 wipes some idiot hits vote abandon. Even after rejecting it 3 times, the guy kept doing it until he finally "spoke up" and we realized who was initiating it.

It's really annoying. The anonymity of it gives people a "safe zone" and rather than actually attempting to clear the content, or find out what's wrong and work around it, they just give up. I personally don't have to wait long (I que as a healer with a tank friend) but do these DPS enjoy waiting in que for an hour only to give up within 10 minutes?? I feel like if the name of the give-upper was listed they'd be less likely to press the button and feel like the jerk who ragequits. (Of course there are people who don't care either way but I play on a Japanese server and I'm almost certain none of them want to look like the bad guy who quits.)


So yes tl;dr, please list the name of the person who initiates vote abandon (aka ギブアップ) because I'm sick of people wasting time and not even TRYING to clear content unless every single party member is perfect.

I posted about this in a thread that evaporated, but simply put, same thoughts.

My problem has been Pharos Sirius though, people quitting before be even start because it's "too hard" .-.

Yes please, also there should be some restrictions to use it in the first place (like only after a group wipes 3 times on the same encounter).

In the all the time since release, i only had 1 situation where i thought a vote abandon would be nice, when my whole PT would agree we're no match for that boss and it would be best to just call it after many wipes...

So, maybe i'm a little radical on this (i hate nothing more than rage quitters, they on the same level as RMT in my book), but also it should just kick the WHOLE PT if the WHOLE PT vote yes, if not and you don't want to go on, you can always just leave yourself.

that feature like the kick is to be abandonned altogether, annihilated, taken away, cancelled. It shouldnt exist, if someone wants to abandon, then he abandons on his own and goes, the rest is free to decide by themselves if they want or dont want to go, what the heck is that *abandon* thing possibility. The reasons to abandon often are foolish and childish, mostly because people THINK that after one wipe they wont make it and so they abandon ?? the rest is thrown out if the vote is yes by the majority and so you are stuck queuing again for hours ....same for the kick...those features are for adults and in this game there are few adults, understand, mature enough, to use that feature, therefore, like for young children, if they cant play properly with a toy, the toy is removed until they understand that some toys arent a joke.

So to me is not a matter of a suggestion..remove those two completely from the game.

I'd agree with the OP's solution.

If someone abuses it, people will notice and they'll get kicked eventually.

Alternatively, limit an 'Abandon' vote to once per player, per dungeon.

Agree with OP and the vote abandon should be exactly like the vote kick (1 per 24h) So you cannot spam vote abandon until ppl are agree to abandon. 1 click per day.

So I should lose the ability to let everyone quit gracefully when a situation is hopeless, or to remove a truly toxic player, just because a few kids abused the system and made you feel bad?

Just make the vote to abandon time restricted, ie can't use it in the first 30 min of the dungeon or something.

I think the better option is if you vote to abandon and it doesn't go threw you get ejected from the group. with a 15 min timer.

There's no reason to call out the person who voted to abandon so that that person can be singled out and abused if others don't agree with them.
Instead people shouldn't be able to vote abandon more than once per dungeon. If the party doesn't agree to abandon, then the person can either leave or suck it up and keep playing.

Sometimes the things that are wrong can't be fixed especially in Garuda Ext and especially not with just an hour limit. I.E if your tank doesn't know the fight well it's pretty much over from my experience.

If you don't tell the tank what he's doing wrong, then nobody will ever know the fight. In theory, everyone seemed like they were doing everything correctly and nobody really knew what went wrong. Instead of trying to figure out what went wrong vote abandon. So now nobody learned anything and they will continue to repeat this in their next groups.

Oh I do tell but most of the time it feels like wasted effort. Most can't seem to understand what I'm saying even though it's simple instructions and they take it the wrong way. Makes you feel like you're calling them out and they get mad rather than being thankful. Rarely you meet players that are willing and able to learn in df. There's really nothing you can do for them if the skill level is not there.

I agree with not naming, it would just lead to harassment.

Disagree with the once per dungeon. I was in a Titan HM the other day, and after three wipes just past heart, someone tried abandon, and it failed. A couple more wipes though at the exact same moment, and another came up and passed. The first time most felt we could possibly do it, but after more wipes it became clear it wasn't going to happen. Why force us to continue, or someone to drop, just because of the more rare abuse of it?

New Tank way to get kicked without getting a timer, that is what would happen. Tank wants to leave, just vote abandon, either way, he wins. :P

I like the idea of not being able to Vote Abandon until after the first 30 minutes have passed. That forces you to actually go out and do whatever instance you are in, at least to start it. Also, if everyone in the group would have preferred to abandon it at the start (hiya Pharos Sirius) it enforces that 30 minute dropout timer before they can even abandon.

I updated with 15 min lock out.

I am a PLD and my wife is a Warrior so stop blaming it on tanks. I see every type of job jump out of CT after the item they are after doesn't drop.

Vote abandon, imo, should have a 20 minute cooldown before use.

meh, i dont really agree with OP. u cant force someone to group with you, if they are ready to leave they are ready to leave. if its after 1 wipe or after many it doesnt matter. telling you who initiates will just give ammo to trolls and griefers. thb ive abandoned after one wipe before, its pretty easy to tell if a group just isnt gonna work in the first few minutes

This will never happen, SE are VERY concerned about people harassing others and throwing someones name up there like that is a prime way to initiate it. What they could do however is that if an abandon fails you cannot have another abandon vote until a certain amount of time has passed.

ok I can see the harassment thing coming into play so alternatively, what if you can only initiate vote abandon ONCE per dungeon? This way you don't have the same guy spamming over & over because he's mad things aren't going his way? It's weird that someone can initiate vote abandon over and over within seconds of it getting rejected.

The real problem is, people are using DF for guaranteed wins instead of practice. I've been tanking Garuda Extreme through DF, just trying to get some experience and most groups tend to only try once or twice before throwing up an abandon vote. To me, if you want a guaranteed one shot win, start a party finder group. If you want some practice, join up with a DF group and go at it until you're comfortable.

To me, a win in DF is just gravy to go with the experience I'm seeking.
