I do not agree, as a caster.
The system is also reducing gap between casters and non casters. Casters cc is bind/snare/sleep/kiting/knockback and compensate for that melees can do full damage while interrupting casters casts reducing casters damage. Melees do not have another(if stun is not counted or monk silence) cc so that is only cc melee dps can do.

Which reminds me z_z I don't see the point in going full sleep materia when you can just reduce stun/sleep/bind by over 3 5ths of its duration.
Casters are significantly stronger than melee right now, why should they be buffed?
If teams weren't forced into having one, there'd be no reason to take a melee.
yah maybe before 2.15 but now melees are better since they can remove sprint they have much better uptime now and kiting is harder since scholars and summoners do not have snare anymore. I bet melees are way much more better than 2.1 even without that melee ranged system.
No. I already have to deal with this game's stellar netcode watching Cure II's go off when I land a blow at ~50% cast. A hidden percentage on top of that is stupid. Use your cooldowns if you expect to freecast with impunity.
Scholar survivability got hammered this patch with the Miasma change. They simply cannot escape a tank/train short of a Blizzard II now. I feel this was a somewhat unnecessary, generalized fix that should have only targeted Arcanists/Summoners. Miasma II's heavy component should function as a defensive maneuver for the Scholar, same as Fluid Aura if we were to draw parallels.
U can still lustrate spam every 1min and if u save ur aetherflow stacks u can do 6x lustrate row and 3 lustrate is like worth of 1 benediction that whm have 5min cd and u have pet that can heal freely all of the time. scholar have more healing utility than WHM but thats the price of WHM:s cc utility.
Do you mean just SMN instead of Ranged? Only range I see that does more damage than mnk/drg is SMN.
Maybe there is another reason why there is melees or ranged in different category like if they overbuff melees they need boost ranged dps and spiral never gonna end but in that way it is way much more easier do balance issues when u need compare only 2 - 3 classes instead 5 different classes.
I am a WHM and casting while getting chased by a train is annoying as hell

Miasma II interrupting my cast is BS... I think if someone sneezed in my general direction it would interrupt my cast
its dumb and makes playing WHM in PvP annnnnnnnoooying
The only thing I get is surecast and 1 PvP skill where I can pop off some cures but outside of that its really book it -> LOS enemy Team Cast (if your not in my LOS for a snap cure well your dead)
That healing utility doesn't really make up for the gap created by losing miasma's heavy. It doesn't take long to burn 3 or even 6 lustrates when you get holmganged (since aura blast wont knockback a holmganged war now) and someone else on your team is being focused.
"Casters are overpowered" mainly applies to SMN, who can kill without ever casting-- so the point is moot-- and BLM/WHM sleep.
I agree that SOMETHING should be changed. As it stands, only auto-attacks interrupt casting. This mainly becomes a problem when you are ganged up on. So rather than reduce the % chance to interrupt, there should be something to allow casters to survive (or, attempt to survive) being hit by all three opposing dps at once.
If you have higher spell speed than your opponent's skill speed, if you tap the button quickly enough you can cast between attacks (by one person) if you get interrupted. Considering the relative potential power of casters, I don't think this system is too unresaonable.

Still a bit baffled why they couldn't implement a spell pushback system like the one in WoW. Your cast bar would get knocked back x amount of seconds and after being hit 3 times you couldn't be interrupted anymore unless it was by a CC ability. (Stun/Silence/Polymorph/Fear/etc)
One of the developers is a huge fan of DAOC or something like that, where this style of interrupts comes.
It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just a different style.
It'll work better in Frontlines, which'll probably have its own issues (namely, I don't see how damage is going to be anything but ridiculous. Bane a small group, multiple flares, etc), but that's a long time from now.
Giving everybody kick wouldn't matter when spells complete after like 10% of the bar finishes anyways. D:
