I shouldn't have to run the game in windowed mode if I want to be able to do other things on my computer. I should simply be able to hit ALT+TAB and go about my business on my computer during game downtime. I love the immersion of full-screen gaming and don't feel like I should be forced to search for alternatives to allow my game to be tabbed out of. The crash that occurs when you tab out does not even make any sense, and I feel like I'm back in 2002 playing FFXI again.
Please, step it up. This is such a simple change!

I know it isn't ideal but there is a program called Shift Window that can be used to force FFXIV into Fullscreen so no borders while in Windowed mode. Google it and give it a try until SE can sort this out, that is if they ever sort it out.

There are already Programs out there that allow this sort of feature to happen specificly for xiv (Which still work even after all the patchs we've had!) so i dont think this is a uber burden on the workload altho mabey im wrong so i do wonder why it wasnt already included, mabey its just a japanese thing :x.~

For those that were concerned about the temptation of cheating they had Windower Lite which just did the windowing/graphics tweaking. I believe those are two different cases, because in one you have your native resolution without changes, and with the other you have to render the image to Fullscreen at half the resoultion, then switch back to your native one once ALT+TAB is been pressed. -

the reps said in a previous post they were going to work on it, also forcing fullscreen in windowed will not solve the problems playing in windowed mode have which are mainly SLI and crossfire only work in fullscreen.

1# 100x better then FFXI windower less lag and the tools for it did not hack the game. The only thing it did show you other tps which ffxiv been doing from day 1 at least showing you when they have full TP.
FFXIV 3 party windower:
You can go full screen which mean you can now use your crossfire video cards and still use alt/tab sorry but if SE can't do it and someone did then they need to fire everyone in the team and get new people again. -

What Zenaku said. The reason SE shot down Windower was because it hooks itself onto the ffxivgame process, but by doing that it enables TRUE fullscreen, i.e. what SE fails to implement since FFXI.

Supported. Alt-Tab is a feature that should have been one of the first things fixed when evaluating on making an XI clone. Ridiculous that it still hasn't been put in. One of the number one fixes they should have already addressed.
