Do EX weapons need to get buffed?

I'm talking about the weapons you get from Aelina in Revenant's Toll - rewards from finishing all Extreme primal trials.

These weapons are pretty close to our Relic + 1 in terms of power, but we had to go through a handful of bosses and then Hard modes to get them.

It just seems to me that if we finish something on Extreme, the rewards should be much greater than the Hard mode reward. :rolleyes: Then again, there's always the question of how strong is TOO strong for the current content.

I leave it to the opinions of you all. What should be done about these EX weapons?

These weapons are fine as is. Some of them already look more badass than their Relic counter parts.

It's fine as it is. Mind you that the actual rewards from clearing the HM Primals are only i80. Whereas the EX Primals are i90. Saving you a whooping 900 mythology.

No. Relic+1 was way too easy to get.
I feel that SE was expecting Titan HM to be a huge blocker like Titan EX, which didn't turn out to be.
Still, it's good to have a way to save 900 myth, so EX weapon is still worth getting even it's on the same level as Relic+1.

Hello? It was a Huge Blocker than the Titan EX. It just happened that the game matured already making Titan HM a very easy fight.

Some might say the same of items like the Allagan Cuirass Of Striking (90) from Twintania and the Melee Cyclas (90) bought with Tomestones of Mythology.

The difference is that you can potentially obtain an Aelina weapon every week; a Zenith weapon will cost you two weeks worth of Mythology that would otherwise be better spent on something else.

If you want a weapon that reflects the difficulty you had to endure to obtain it, beat Twintania for one of hers (95)

it's just a quicker yet more difficult path to get 90 weapons that also almost all have better secondary stats than relic+1

This, It's pretty easy to do the three primals on monday before/after coil, you get tomes, jewelry and a free ilvl90 weapon on top of that, if they buffed them T5 weapons would serve no purpose, just like it did before 2.1 for some classes where the relic was superior to it.

You are comparing with the relics Zenith version, which also cost you 3 weeks of Myth farm... So nah, I think however that relics should have remained stronger, and they should have been a little bit more challenging to get. Maybe they could do something like extreme mode trials to be necessary to +1 your weapons. That would have been far more interesting .

Anyway, these are slot fillers imo, for alt jobs, they look nice but not very serious... (books and staves with faces? XD)

Some of them already are stronger in itemization than relics +1.

And as a last point, these are very easy to get, so no reason to make them better. You forget that when we got our relics we were wearing scrap gear, now everyone is atleast at ilvl 80+.

Weeks... 3 weeks. And in 2.1 --- 2 weeks. hard? no.

If the EX Primals are as tough as Coil then yes, they should be buffed. I personally think obtaining Zenith is far too easy as it is. They should get rid of Zenith altogether and give the EX Weapons the Zenith stats. As of right now, EX Weapons are just trophies.

No, they give us people who can't beat Twintania yet an option to sidegrade our weapons. Especially warriors who have absolutely no freaking accuracy on their weapons so we have to downgrade some items just to do Coil.

Buffed? Nah...like 'Zenith', SE needs to give them some kind of actual attributes rather than more +stat.

Yeah sorry, I meant weeks. It's still longer than the stupid extreme mode weapons.

And well the were 3 weeks before, now two but still. Extreme modes are 1 weapon a week, for relatively less effort if you have a good group.. (The relic quest is easy and boring, too long for how easy and bornig it is :P)

So overall, unless you have issues killing the extreme modes it's easier.

Yeah, relics are missing a special "niche".

Something that makes them actually worthwhile and nice.

I would've preferred if relic upgrade was obtainable through extreme mode like the new ones since they don't feel all that special anyway. Take out skill speed if there are any on them and change it to another more useful secondary stat. Gives you more choices depending on what gear set up you want or is available to you at the same difficulty rate.

IMO they’re fine as is. They offer a sidegrade option for people with zenith and a non-myth i90 wep option for people with lots of alts.

no, it's a free +1. second/third best weapons in the game. makes it easy enough to play a different class on a competitive level. they are already good enough as is.

I think they're ok. Shame some of them aren't itemized that well, but they weren't meant to be better than Zenith, just an alternative.

Titan EX isn't even a huge blocker. You just need 8 people who can dodge 5 ways, plumes, double plumes, and bombs. E.g. if you find 8 people that don't lag and can use the visuals for everything he does, he's as easy as Titan HM with the same 8 people. In fact, because Titan EX doesn't gain stomps, I might even say he's easier. We killed EX 6 times last night, 1 shot 3 of them.

The weapons's don't need buffed, they are to easy to get. Getting stuck with laggy people doesn't make a fight hard. Solution: Get a VPN or Fix your stuff if you are one of those laggy people.

Some of the weapons are better than Zenith's. E.g. Elder Staff on BLM is much better, it's awesome. Dual Haken on Warrior is also much better it ahs 37 accuracy on it allowing warriors to pick up more Myth Accessories and max parry.

If you live in the US it works. If you live in the EU or AUS, SE needs to open a new datacenter over there. If you are on PS3.... PS4 in february I think right? If you are staying on PS3... I'm sorry, but you'll be like the people who stayed on PS2 when FFXI was out and eventually SE will release an expansion that doesn't support PS3, they did it on FFXI. Seeker's of Adoulin did not come out on PS2, only Xbox 360 and PC.

If you are on PS3, you should view it as a temporary platform if you plan on playing 8+ years from now, eventually SE will drop it for one reason or another.
