News: 1.18 delayed til July.
Delayed till after E3. Simma dahn nah.
I want news too please if only just screen shots or a short paragraph Just please update us in some way or form.
It still will be mid June but did anyone notice that Yoshi P didn't mention which year?!?!
There would be many rage quits... Interesting how they show nothing at E3 for this game thus far(expected), and yet nothing so far this week.. waiting sucks..
They will post some new soon stating they are working on it.
We do not have enough 名誉(honor) thus are not worthy of news!
is the whole server down for maintenance?
The whole server? Lol?
I guess, when I log in it says the "service is down for maintenance" I was wondering if ppl were having the same problem
Just logged in, all fine.
where is this patch information posted?
lol Thenshodo fame was a PAIN in the ass , i slaughtered yagudos for hours D:
Am I a masochist for missing fame/rep grinding?
My ass hurts from all the bitching. Reading a forum shouldn't feel like listening to a woman bitch. We don't don't need info, we NEED SE to be working on fixing the game.
hopefully 1.18 will be at e3
hopefully they will give info end of this week.
I think not. Fame was one of the things that truly made me feel like I was being rewarded for my efforts to help people. In XIV there are basically no reward or conclusion whatsoever to completing quests, not even plot nor cutscenes.
I didn't grind repeatable quests in XI ever though. There was enough non repeatable to get highest level fame in every town without grinding. I still like the fact that there is the option to grind fame for those who feel like some of the quests are too hard.
Still I do feel a bit bad about people complaining that the fame in XI is all about grinding as that's entirely the player's own choice to grind the same quests. Also this argument is often used as a weapon to argue against a fame system in XIV which is sort of missing the point entirely.
Personally I'd be fine with completely unrepeatable quests in XIV (including the leves; it would be fun to work towards completing them all) but as XIV is trying to be casual (which it most certainly is not) the option to grind as opposed to using skill is about as casual as they come. Now all we need is some cows to click for thousands of times...
It would be cool if at their booth at E3 they had videos and stuff of new content planned, and some new concept art for xiv, just to get interest in the game, maybe even from people who didn't know it existed.
E3 is essentially for new and upcoming games and hardware... Why on earth would they waste booth space on a patch for a game released last year?
People clearly have no idea how much quality booth space costs at expos ^^
The funny thing about it is ...
Here's a model of when I expect new info releases.
Day 1: Yoshida posts a letter with vague references to new agendas.
Day 2-5: Reps on forum clean up the mess he started with inaccurate translations or mysterious comments.
Day 6-14: No contact from anyone anywhere.
Day 15-20: I think "any day now;" Reps start posting random quips about nothing.
Day 20-22: I think "WTF are they doing over there" and stop checking Lodestone.
Day 22-27: Someone in LS informs me of Lodestone update.
So pretty much tack a week on to when I think any team trying to "keep in touch" with the fan base would reasonably keep in touch and that's what SE's done. It really screws up my sense of timeliness, but it's consistent for me at least.
So I pretty much gave up checking this morning, threw my hands up in the air with an exasperated sigh and a shake of the head... which means any day now. Probably Monday at the latest. Any takers?
Well, my "any day now" includes today. ^^
I just won't be checking as of yesterday's disappointment.
That means from today within 4-5 business days.
If my equation is correct, Friday is the best answer. Heh.
Though my equation is roughly relative to when I get fed up with hearing nothing for 2 weeks.
It's not an exact science.
