I know that it's a subject they don't like to talk about too much since nothing will be ready for 2.1 but I really wish Yoshida would stop avoiding the question of when we can expect new jobs.
Right now I'm sporting 4 50s, and the rest 30 and I really don't *like* any job. I don't hate them either... but I have to wonder just how long it will be before I can expect a new job that I may potentially actually enjoy playing. There was a question that got 65 up votes in the Q/A for the producer live and the question was asked several times over again in the same thread.
I want to enjoy playing the game, but it's so hard to get the motivation being stuck on a class that I don't really like. There is so much conflicting information out there on IF we will get new jobs before an expansion and nothing solid on what we will be getting in the first place. I am almost capped on myth and phil and I really don't care enough about any of the classes I'm playing on to spend =(

If seen his one interview some time ago it will before a expansion DL. I would place my money on the new jobs launching during the PS4 launch with a level cap increase of 55. It only makes sense. So april.

Expect about a year out before new classes are revealed. Even if Yoshida wants to add new classes, he's a month and a half behind schedule on development as it is. Additional delays are likely. -

People comparing new jobs in this game to timeline of new class releases in other MMOs arent really being fair. There is almost zero diversification option for each job in this game (cross skill system is a joke) and thus this game basically has no answer to the "talent tree" system that most MMOs use to add depth to the class system. They really need a lot of jobs to make up for this, the same way they did in FF11.

Don't put your free time into something that feels like a chore; I know many people in here do that, but that's probably why they are always bitter and angry in the first place. Go play something else that really satisfies you and pick this up again once your class comes up. MMOs refresh content all the time so you'll only be behind gear and content wise for a bit once you restart.Quote:

Understandable, as the current jobs don't really cover as wide a range of playstyles as they could. For example, both melee DDs in the game are reliant on positionals, but don't make use of procs. Perhaps someone likes melee but hates positionals or prefers procs. I could see a proc-based melee class being implemented, as an alternative. There are still lots of additional playstyles they could implement for each role. Combo based ranged classes/casters. HOT based healers similar to Druid from WoW. Etc.
There's also how themes are an important part of enjoying a class for many people. Some people play Paladin not because of its playstyle or effectiveness, but because they love the idea of playing a knight in shining armor with a sword and shield. Someone may enjoy DDing, but like swords and hate tanking, so they'd be looking forward to an eventual sword-DD.
Someone can enjoy the content, story, mechanics and themes of the game, but not have a class currently in the game that really nails their ideal playstyle or themes on the head. -

One more thing to consider is they might well be ready to go on one job, say the long-awaited Musketeer job (or class). But because of existing class/job imbalances they will likely want to bring out more than just a single additional dps role. Although... It sure would be hilarious seeing 100 newly-minted Musketeers all running around in FATE groups.
