Visited general discussion for the first time today and all I see is people complaining about loot lockout and weekly lockouts. Better call the cops, maybe they can take SE's gun away from your heads requiring your subscription.

This just in, if you don't enjoy the game you don't have to play it!

Yeah, 'cause there's nothing wrong with adding in content in a backwards manner and making the loot rules way more strict for the already outdated "new" content.

So if you don't like tomatoes and you go to your favorite sandwich shop, order a sandwich that comes with tomatoes. Do you ask them for no tomatoes in the future or do you stop going to the restaurant altogether?

You are going to stop visiting the shop if you keep asking for no tomatoes and they keep putting tomatoes on your sandwich. If the next time I went in, they made my sandwich right, then I would stay.

I've been waiting for SE to make my sandwich right for a few months now and for every step they take forward to accomplishing that, they take 2 steps back (removed tomatoes, and added pickles for example).

This just in: if you enjoy playing ARR, you are obviously a minority playerbase who "can only possibly be blindly proclaiming SE as lord and savioir" and is not ACTUALLY, enjoying their experience, just living in a fantasy.
What is childish dribble is constant complaining about a system you dislike but for some reason continue to pay for and play. Reminds me of little kids who cant make an easy decision, which for these people should obviously be to quit and move on. I would of course ask for it without tomatoes by the way, but we aren't talking a 1 minute sandwich ingredient change.

A sandwich shop is designed for options, a multimillion dollar company releasing a game with their own design is not.

You're right, a multimillion dollar game shouldn't have to utilize one of the most boasted about features in the game. It's totally fair that people with alternate characters have an advantage over somebody leveling multiple jobs on the same character as intended by the armory system. It's wonderful that several people in FCs are being benched because their FC members who already have a 8 man static can't run the content again to help them out and that you don't get to experience a different form of gameplay for the best content in the game without making an additional character more than once a week.

Are you serious with this crap? If you don't know why people are complaining then you're just being ignorant. It's one thing to disagree, it's another to tell people they shouldn't play because they don't think the game is perfect when it's not. Maybe we should stop giving them feedback all together, I'm sure they'll figure out everything on their own. Right..?

What makes you think that because we dislike loot lockouts on CT means we hate the entire game? That would be as silly as us telling you because you dislike people discussing their views on things maybe you should cancel your internet. None of us are holding a "gun" to your head making you pay your bills.

If you are discussing the quality of this restaurant while eating there, and find the service horrendous, then you should obviously quit coming to this place and move on.
Nevermind that you love the food, or it's convenient since it's so close to your workplace, or that your friends are regularly meeting there, or whatever other reason you have for coming to that place. Stating that something about the place sucks while still paying for your food? It's just childish dribble.

We love the game, that's not the problem. The problem is we don't like SE telling us we can't do that when that's all we want to do because that's what we love about the game.

If you don't speak up for what you dislike, it won't be changed. The forums are currently full of the same threads on like three topics.
The devs are much more likely to recognize these are issues than if there was only a single thread with no other complaints.
It's obvious that many players are upset and if SE wants to be a good company, they'll recognize this and fix future content to make the players happy.
It's wrong of them to have made the armoury system one of their main selling points at release, and then make it impossible to play all those characters at end game; and then for mid tier, too.

I don't know why people keep encouraging mass amounts of players to quit funding a game they also play any time they raise their concerns. You do realize that if everybody left over being upset over one thing, they'd probably just turn off servers since no one was playing, right?

Because a business thrives off the income it brings in. By voting with your wallet, you show that a business decision is not in the best interest of it consumers, causing either a change in policy, or a shut down of the game. Any smart business realizes the smarter move and changes policy to meet the demand of its consumers or a suitable middle ground. Or it fails. Ask Microsoft how their Xbox One is doing.

Why do you think WoW has been running all these years?

This is a choice your static and FC has made. There is nothing to stop you from recruiting people and splitting your static for a couple weeks to get some of your FC members coil experience. I don't like lockouts either, but the least you can do is make a better effort to bring in your FC instead of blaming everything on SE. Also, if other people want to get into coil, there are always pugs, or they can leave FC and go to one that is building a coil group. So many options, it's a shame you pigeon hole your FC into only running a set static and leaving people behind.

I do understand what you are saying. But given the fact that the limitation is here, it is in place, and for the time being, not going anywhere, what have you done to help your FC? I would like to see at least a CT style lockout so you could run it all you want and only loot once, but that isn't the case right now. Rather than doing what you can to work with the system, you blame SE and stick to your static.

SE knows exactly what we are complaining about. They are *trying* to find a middle ground for everyone without letting the flood gates go. Hence the myth cap increase. They have the required analytics and they can also see from the forums how unhappy people are about lockouts, but if people keep paying each month, there is no reason to change it and the system stays the same.

You're missing the point completely. What I am saying is that once I finish coil once for the week I am unable to help my FC friends who haven't do the same. Regardless of whether we're in a static or not that makes no difference since you still can't help your friends once locked out. Basically I am forced to pick 7 people out of my entire FC to do the best content in the game with per week. I should be able to help all my friends, not forced to choose 7 of them to help for the entire week.

Do not misunderstand, I am not trying to say that people hate the whole game, or to just quit, I am only saying that if one small thing like a raid you can only do once a week causes you such a problem, maybe this one just is not for you.

You don't need to be able to spam coil to help out your FC, you can split up experienced groups and have them go along with newer players, utilize in game or voice chats to help give pointers, etc. I also don't understand why people think you cannot play your other jobs you have leveled, you can be something different on all 5 turns if you want, you can play as any job you have for quests or anything else in the game. Yes, they say you can play every job, that doesn't mean you are going to be able to get maxed out best gear for all of them instantly. In MMOs you normally choose a job you are best at, and other things come later.

And as for the reason why I posted this, is I enjoy reading the forums but am sick of constantly reading about the same thing. I come to the forums to read about information for classes, or where to get a cool item, things like that. Instead I see post after post about the lockout and why it sucks people cant spam coil all week.

People that come here are the minority of players, especially with it being released on PS3. I want to see interesting game discussion, not complaining because some people can't spam I90 gear for all their jobs. Lets discuss interesting things like items, fates, bosses, etc, and not complain about this lockout! If you can't be patient, then like in XI, this game just probably isn't for you.

Of course the majority of players arent on the forums, but that takes nothing away from the voices of those who do. Each voice on this forum may represent the views of hundreds or thousands of players, regardless of whether or not those players speak up for themselves.

The view that people on the forums are the "vocal minority" brings with it a connotation of lesser value, when in realistic contrast, the people who speak up on the forums are more like the 'senators' of the player-base. Yes, we differ in views, but our views are the same as those who choose not to speak up. Any company the fails to yield to the feedback of their customers is destined to fail, and that is tried and true fact.

Turning off your sub without complaining is not good 'voting', as it doesn't let the company know for sure why so many people are unsubbing. Maybe they migrated to a new game, maybe they can't afford it anymore because holidays, maybe there's something players think are terribly wrong.

If you split 8 experienced members into 8 different groups, you are helping 56 people with coil. You may not personally be in a party helping all of them, but your group is. I personally think the point SE wants is to not let 7 people be holding another persons hand. While that can still happen, they don't want EVERYONE to be doing it, all day long. Not everyone deserves coil gear. They want people to gain experience with groups and learn the fights.

People with a single character utilizing the armory system can only play 1 job per turn per week. People with multiple characters can play that turn on multiple jobs. Considering the armory system is a major component in this game and it costs additional money unless you sub 6 months to even make another character this is not fair. There is more to it than just "getting maxed out best gear" but if you can't comprehend that I don't know how else to explain it.

Really? My problem is that I have to choose 7 friends from my FC to play with on a weekly basis and your solution is to stop playing with those 7 friends and play with others instead? Remind me again, how exactly does that solve my problem? Seems like either way I have to tell some friends "sorry, i'm not playing with you this week" in a genre of gaming that revolves almost entirely around playing with other people.

Making a thread complaining that you don't want to see anymore threads that complain is incredibly hypocritical. Feel free to make a thread about FATEs instead if that's really what you so badly want to talk about.

But if you can't handle complaining, then like all other games, GD is probably not for you.

So, let me see if I'm getting this straight: we come on here and complain that we want to play the game MORE, and your suggested solution for us is to quit, thereby playing the game considerably LESS. That makes perfect sense, how did we not think of that?
