I saw in the EX titan battle where he does a sumo like stomp move that pushes the players away. I wonder if the devs would implement jumping as a means to dodge AOE. It would add a lot more fun to the battles just like how we have to move to avoid AOE. Jumping would be required to avoid AOE like that sumo stomp or quake.
To make it even more fun, have titan summon another titan. One casts plumes while the other uses sumo stomp forcing the players to move and jump at the same time to avoid both AOEs. They could also add allagan rot mechanics to titan to make it insane. Insane mode titan!! :cool:
They should focus more on making the game fun. Playing video game is just another form of entertainment and people will stick to whatever they enjoy doing.

Sounds good to me. Its funny, Yoshi said early on that jumping wasn't going to be 'necessary' for anything gameplay-wise, but there are already mining nodes you can only get to by jumping, and that spot in... Tam-Tara I think? That you have to jump up to progress.

Yeah, people complained enough about jumping being implemented period that they probably won't ever be a part of a boss' mechanics. I'm banking on players just needing to LOS the sumo stomp with the gaols to avoid it.

Jumping won't avoid it as just recently he said the server won't calculate your position until you land. You may also notice they have god mode on because 2 dashes from Ifrit (really 1) is enough to kill most people. Nevermind all 4.

The lack of programming behind this (the fact that your position won't update until you land) shows that the dev team does not want jumping to be an important part of fights. Jumping *out* of AoEs works perfectly fine, though. I jump out of almost every plume during Titan and I've never been hit because of it. I've also been in the air as the castbar finishes, and I still don't get hit.
The server definitely updates your position while in the air, because it simply updates your position 3 times per second regardless of what you're doing. It doesn't care if you're jumping, falling, running, walking, or getting knocked back. I've never read anything from Yoshi stating otherwise, aside from the bit about them not wanting DRGs to be invincible during Jump because then everyone would roll DRG.
