Please reconsider ilvl 60 drops

Pharos Sirius and the new hard mode dungeons should drop ilvl 70 items, not ilvl 60.

Because ilvl 70 gear is available on a vendor, ilvl 60 items are only placeholders at best, giving very little reason to prefer one dungeon over another. This leads to players preferring whatever is fastest and easiest, which can be seen even now with Wanderer's Palace being preferred over Amdapor Keep.

Upgrading the new drops to ilvl 70 has several benefits:

• It gives incentive to run different dungeons.
• Boss fights are more exciting when you can win an upgrade.
• More items increase player choice and make gearing more interesting.

With ilvl 60 drops, many players will run the new content only a handful of times before choosing to stick with the fastest method for earning tomestones, since ilvl 70 items are the real reward. It would be best if ilvl 70 items dropped to encourage variety and make the new dungeons more exciting.

They're probably trying to not make darklight completely useless.

I would say do both. ILVL 60 drops would be the normal drops but have rare ILVL 70 drops. This would be the best of both worlds and keep the dungeon relevant.

It's probably so they don't have to make any new iLvl 70 gear.

I don't mind too much. Darklight is fairly easy to get. It would be nice if it had something different.

Seems as if the new gear has mostly been designed with the vanity system in mind. At this point it will only benefit players who haven't been already tackling end game content.

This is precisely correct. People who have spent many hours farming darklight gear will be quite annoyed to find ilvl 70 gear dropping left and right.

I feel that the ilvl 60 drops are more orientated towards casual players. We will doing Sirius because we actually only do AK or WP 1/2 times a week. Ilvl 60 gear would be phenomenal for us because most of us will never be decked out in ilvl 70 at the rate of 1/2 runs a week.

If their direction for BRD armor is indicative of how they will continue to make the job look, this would be incentive enough for me, personally. Assuming these new dungeons drop something that isn't pink/purple/high heels.

If these were made I70 that would really piss off all of us that had to grind out dungeons to get our gear. I don't know what the alternative would be though. Because of the way they set up the game they kind of messed up the progression all over the place. Maybe one of these will finally drop the I60 Bracelet that was missing from Amdapor...LOL

It should be at least ilvl 65...

The more I think about it, the more I am ok with iLvl60.
I would have agreed with a iLvl65 option, but that would dilute the benefit of DL that we have already farmed for.

They said that there would be a new tome type in the future, maybe that could be traded for iLevel 80-85 gear?

But hopefully the runs are at least interesting to do.

Platformer elements perhaps lol.

I originally expected Pharos to be ilvl 65, assuming it would be a step above AK. But they've made it clear that it's intended to be about the same in terms of difficulty (if maybe a little easier given the comments on being tuned for people in AF). The point of Pharos, HM Copperbell, and HM Manor is variety. They'll likely give the same amount of tomes for give or take the same amount of time to complete. Also there's dungeon sourced housing materials and the new drops will have new looks.

If you're only going to do a value analysis based off of strict item level gained per time spent then I think you're going to always be disappointed with content not added at the top of the pyramid.

I wouldn't mind if it was ilvl70. I have grinded for my darklight but F that! I still have more jobs to finish and don't care where the gear comes from.

have they stated what iLvl is the gear from the HM dungeons?

This would be terrible for the game. The only dungeon people would ever run would be this one. This would serve to give us less variety than we even have now. You could have darklight quality gear in an afternoon of slamming this dungeon as opposed to grinding the tokens, and that won't be good for the game.

I'm a bit disappointed with it, too. I expected level 70 at minimum - play it to get some level 70 gear, fill the rest with Darklight, go do the Crystal Tower.

I look at Pharos as just a story dungeon.

Fight something new. Find out what happens with Siren. Then never do it again.

Would be nice to see some gear offset DL and such, have a nice mix and match.

In the mean time, nobody cares about crafted gear...

You guys stating that making it i70 would upset you because you had to grind out your Darklight are missing the fact you'd still have to grind out the new gear.

Anyone with full DL will find this gear obsolete from the start, I guess vanity slots will fix that though.

I don't see any issues, with the balance of drops. Sure a PS - i65 drop might have been more acceptable, but really its not that big of an issue. Only people who will go bat shit is people who have spent countless hours already farming AK for their i70 and i90 equipment, like myself, but in a greater scheme of things this new content/changes are whats good for the entire playerbase including new players or fresh 50s.

Its likely that PS will drop only i60 weapons.. to match up with the i60 gear set from AK.

IMO I think id have liked to see content spread like this

Yeah, I know. I mean if I was a brand new 50 I'd be able to go buy DL for every slot as soon as I did just one of these dungeons. It's not like it would take me 3-4 runs just to get the points to buy an upgrade for one slot. In fact, I'd just let those 60 pieces rot instead of even rolling on them. After all, it's not like I have to do these dungeons more for tomes to buy items for the slots I haven't upgrade with Darklight yet.

As a player who has geared two jobs in Darklight, I am completely, totally pissed-off and furious that the new dungeon and the two hardmodes are item level 60.

WHY? We already have Amdapor Keep. Why are these dungeons still that easy?

What the hell, Squee? Hardmodes are supposed to be HARD, not "oh, AK with the scenery changed."

TBH, we should have gotten Pharos Sirius at ilvl70, and the two hardmodes at ilvl80. Don't even get me started on how badly you completely screwed Crystal Tower.

CopperBell Mines and Haukkuk Manor HM dungeons drop i60 gear? i think i missed that, i thought they only drop crafting materials for i60+ 1-2 star crafts. Also AK only drops i60 gear, and its likely PS will only drop i60 weapons making no overlap in obtaining i60 gear before you switch to i70 Primal + i70 DL.

Problem is how Crystal Tower's i80 gear drop will overlap gear from i60-i70, when the min requirement is i55. Making a shit ton of i55 fresh out of WP, to be ready for coil bypassing the need to farm for gear and tombs from AK-PS.

They have a simultaneous drop & token system at ilvl 90, so it's really disappointing that they won't do it for ilvl 70 as well.

You know having them drop i60 weapons would actually be really nice, it would give us more ways people can get weapons that are decent enough for Titan while working on gearing up for it, instead of doing ifrit/garuda several times for the small stone reward as a consolation if you aren't lucky enough for your weapon to drop.

The objective of Pharos Sirius is to give you more options for getting myth.

Normal modes drop Ilvl 60.... What was the logic on that...

SE got their stuff all twisted. If Crystal Tower had come out on schedule there would be il 80 in game already and they could make hard mode dungeons drop ilvl 70 because replacing darklight would be no big deal.

But CT is coming out late and they don't want to ruin darklight...

Why not just make hard mode dungeons il 70 and make darklight il 75 and crystal tower il 80 and bcb il 90 with an il 95 wep on twintantia and leave af 1.5 alone.

Who is SE making these changes for? The 50% sub base that already got bored and quit?

I disagree with this completely, you get tomes from these new dungeons so why do we need to make it even faster for you to get ilvl70 gear when even CT will be ilvl55 and reward ilvl80 gear. Please keep the dungeons dropping ilvl60 gear for vanity purposes only since technically if you consider tomes as drops you are already getting ilvl70 from them.

I'll run them all for variety, and as far as I know there will be a duty roulette for the lvl 50 dungeons as well so as long as the reward from that is worthwhile I also disagree with you.

It's simple: drops are fun. Tokens are boring. Drops give you something to look forward to with each boss kill, but they can be frustrating when you keep getting unlucky. Tokens are reliable, but they're about as fun as going to work every day. Both systems have flaws, but they work well together. With both, you have the excitement of anticipation and tokens as a backup if you have bad luck. It's not about how fast or how slow you can gear up, it's about making the process more fun.

I kinda doubt that the endgame dungeons will be included in the roulette as that is a measure in order to keep low lvl dungeons populated, which can be pretty dead at the moment.

Personally I'm also a bit annoyed with having 4-5 dungeons on the same level. It's just going to be "Check the scenery once, decide which one is fastest to speedrun and go faceroll that". A lot of people are already outgearing this content, so even if they got some fun challenges people are plenty decked to just bruteforce through everything.
