Sounds good to me, I can't wait to see it in action.
Yeah, same here. He didn't explain much in detail, but this has got me pretty pumped up!
It all sounds pretty good. Really looking forward to the entire details on how this will all work (what jobs there will be to unlock! etc.)
what??? ahha what did i say i post this 100 times class would be the base then you unlock jobs if you like to solo and hybrid you have to use the class system if you want to party and dungeon you most use the job system or something around there
So like i said they pick this system
Pug unlock Monk at 30 you can now become a monk and get AF gear.
So everyone who told me that not how they going to do it i can say this to you "Told you so"
everything sounds good, can't wait for the upcoming patches ^^.
Didn't go into much detail, but it's a good read. I'm glad to know how the class/job system is going to work finally. Now I'm just curious if the battle system is going to feel different in terms of playstyle.
Who saying is a problem? i made a post saying that just how they going to make the new class system :) few did not believe. But a few did like the idea :) so pretty much they doing it how i said
You level up Pug to 30 and unlock Monk
you level up conj you can now unlock whm or blm
and so on :) this is going to be very fun now am like the idea very much the tree base system was lame and am happy they did not go with that.
I'm a bit worried about this point allotment stuff, maybe I didnt understand it but it seems we're going to get less points overall, idk how much less, you only get 4-6 per level now, will it be 1 per rank ? meaning i'd need 4-6 50's in order to gain back what I have now? (of course that would be on average). Could I affectively get 5-6 times more points by having all 50's? Before it was a case of 1-50, now its a case of 1-950 ... (Most people are 350-400 on average which is like being PL 30)
I am excited. That is pretty much a lot of what I had hoped to hear, along with some surprises (both pleasant and some a little sad).
I'm on the fence.. This job thing just sounds like more grinding..
Guess I'm neutral till I see this stuff in-game better than placing all hope on a false messiah.
I'm eager to see what the changes to autoattack do, and what they plan to do for each class specifically. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...
To be honest, I was hoping for more details. Still, some clarification on the job system is nice, and it does make me happy that there's going to be what I suppose you might call "specs" for each class. That's what it sounds like to me, anyway.
Many thanks for the alert, Chrees.
^^
Very pleased to see this, I think there are the makings of some good ideas here. I'll be honest though, I am one of the people not in favor of the auto-attack system, I kind of like what we have. It'll be interesting to see how it's worked and I will not be upset if I am proven wrong.
A thousand thank you's for trying to save out class action bars.
I have one question though - if stat allocation is class / job dependent, will said stat allocation change when I change class or job?
Hmmm I think you all misunderstood me lol I was not talking much about what the Stat does, or infact the Stats at all, I'm talking clearly about the points.
Right now you get 4-6 points between levels 1-50. Now he says you will get awarded less, so just predicting about 2? So to get my 400(inaccurate but doesn't matter) points I have now I'd need 100 rank's, which is quite easy to get, get rank 10 on 10 classes you have it. So how is it going to be distributed and what is going to be the max?
Before the max would be whatever you earn once you're physical level 50, but the max is now some value amongst all 19 classes and im sure it's not going to be 19*50
Looks good to me, happy there looking at the retaining skill bars for each class, stoked there looking into jobs and party based play more.
All those changes are going to take a very long time to see fully implemented. Looks like FFXIV re-release is next year.
Just two? what about the thrid one? xDQuote:
Dungeons
Dungeons, the proving grounds for parties, will be released in 1.18. We will be implementing two types to begin with, with future updates to usher in additional maps and battle concepts.
This content takes the form of raid missions in which players slash and burn their way through a labyrinthine area before finally squaring off against a formidable final foe. Dungeons are intended to push teamwork to the limit, and players can expect a level of satisfaction (and spoils!) befitting the challenge.
To coincide with the addition of dungeons, a number of actions and skills will receive tweaks ahead of time, the details of which will be released at a later date.
Presumably, and the whole point of it really, is that you have that many points for whatever rank on whatever class you're on *AT THE TIME.*
So now you won't have a r10 Gladiator with 50 physical levels worth of points, you'd have whatever new number they deem appropriate for rank 10. If you have Conjuror 50 and want to level, say, Thaumaturge, your stat values will be whatever they are based solely off the Thaumaturge's rank.
This is what would make sense. Also that the specific allocation would be dependent on each class, so you could actually play a DoM and a DoW and have appropriate stats when you switch.
That makes sense though I just wonder how they will do it? Temporarally reduce my stats for a specific class or will it unassign them, ah well have to wait and see.
Loving this! Skills should be obtained by doing quests rather than grinding! Though I hope its not "go kill x brids" =(Quote:
you will be compensated with access to exclusive actions, which can be acquired through quests.
And, come to think of it, I didn't read anything about the stamina bar... Shall we assume it will stay?
I don't get why they aren't just removing the physical level. Or did I mis-read something? It sounds like they're merging the two and effectively giving you a physical level for each class. But you already have your class rank, just base the point allocation off that and remove physical levels altogether.
They are removing physical levels. They're just making it so that you can still put points how you want because that's what people asked for on the polls. People like a little bit of customization, which might, depending on how drastic the actual stat changes are, be a LOT of customization. I imagine a pugilist who puts all their points into strength and dex will function verrrrry differently from one who puts them into dex and vit (just as examples.)
So excited for jobs and job specific armor. >.> <3 THANK YOU SE!
