So I was able to find this info:
Wanderer's Palace:
100 Philosophy
30 Mythology
Amdapor Keep:
100 Philosophy
40 Mythology
Garuda HM:
15 Philosophy
10 Mythology
Titan HM:
20 Philosophy
15 Mythology
Any word on the tomestone cap change?
Wanders Palace now drops 100 Phil / 30 Mytho
Ampador Keep now Drops 100Phile / 40 Mytho
Prea and CM idk have not done them.
Ahh so no cap change. Disappointing. And yes, they did announce it.
"•The number of areas where you can acquire Allagan Tomestones of Philosophy and Mythology will be increased as well as the amount you can acquire."
Perhaps it was just an error in translation and what they meant was "as well as the amounts which are rewarded."...
That's the ambiguous announcement I was talking about. It doesn't state anything about a cap change. As far as I am concerned, they did increase the amount of tomestones you can acquire in the "number of areas" that were affected by this patch (as WP didn't drop myth before, AK now drops 100 instead of 80 philosophy etc.).
As some have stated I think it was more of a misscommunication. They stated they increased the number of areas where you can farm tombstones (e.g., WP now drops 30 myth) and the amount you can acquire probably refers to the increase philosophy tombstones from AK and WP. I don't think they ever intended to increase CAP as that would shorten the grind time, thus having more people at endgame\clearing content faster
There is no cap change nor was there ever any indication there would be.
They did change the amount you can acquire. WP and AK had philo increases. WP, Garuda and Titan had mytho increases. They never said they would change the maximum you can acquire, they said the amount. Blame localisation for not being specific enough, or yourself for not interpreting it correctly.
And if you want to add more info to your summary, there were some mechanic changes. CM had mobs repositioned to make it harder to sneak. WP needs drops from mobs to open doors. Most dungeons now have gil dropping from mobs
The primals should have drop more philosophy and mythology, and ifrit battle should get an increase. It would add more options to the tome grinding. If you already have the weapon from each one of the primal for your main job (assuming ONE main job) - there is not much incentive to do it again. Unless you level arcanist which give you 2 jobs to choose from. Or go back and level ALL jobs I suppose - FATE grinding over and over and over again lol....
So basically people will now move on to farm Praetorium, which was faster than CM anyways.
Nothing has changed. 100 tomes every 20 minutes for a total of 7200 tomes for full DL and relic. Or 1440 minutes, about 24 hours of grinding per each DL+relic.
Getting 3 classes ready for coil will take you 72 hours of grinding. 72 hours of farming praetorium.
You would think they would realize that the problem is that philosophy costs are too steep, but whatever. They can tank their own game by making people repeat the same content so much to even do raid content that the game becomes a stale chore.
in that case see you guys next update
They also changed the layout in WP, most likely to prevent speedrunning since more players will be doing the dungeon now. You now have to kill some tonberrys to get oil for the locks. They also changed the location of some monster packs and added/removed some of them. Overall it's a nice change.
Yes, all changes i fully like. WP is a real good way now to get the daily grind done fast. For CM&Preatorium i dont see any reason anymore though. Why farm CM for 100 stones for 30 min when theres WP for 100/30 stones for 30 min. I could see it valid to upper the reward here to 120 P-stones.
Can WP really be done in 30 mins ? By a DF group?..
Yup.
Depends on the DD types and everyone's average equipment levels, but I had a DF WP group yesterday which was under 30mins (though we had a few hairy moments with Stalkers) and another that wasn't far off it.
Is pretty easy on newly-leveled players too since you can run it in your AF and not feel undergeared. On my very first run through WP the team I was in decided I should try tanking/kiting every single mob in the last boss fight (including the slashers) whilst wearing generic AF, a level 45 'Goblin Longsword' and a bunch of white level 49 accessories. Took us a few tries to get it down properly, but it worked in the end.
The Stalker mechanic is the only thing that makes the Dungeon slightly tricky and you can avoid them most of the time by pulling the trash mobs to specific areas. The First boss is very easy. The Second boss just needs you to kill ads quickly and have everyone in your team be prepared to run around a bit whenever they get targeted. Even the last boss is relatively straightforward (assuming that your Tank understands the concept of staying in the center and the DDs only let Rancor stack 3-4 times... I really can't recommend the "kite-everything" strategy!) ;)
It's nice they made WP more worth doing. It's kind of a fun dungeon and a lot of times i find groups who are stuck on the second boss so i pop in and help them so fun to get more out of it than just feeling like i did a good deed.
The fun thing about being a WHM is that the adds on second boss are nothing now. Somebody said to me "Why aren't you just using cleric stance and holy?" And i never looked back XD. Holy on cleric stance is hilarious i kill them quicker than most DD's.
Yeah, I'm really liking the WP changes, too. I ran it a lot pre-2.05 just because I preferred the atmosphere to dungeons like CM and AK. Nobody was in a rush (well, no more a rush than necessary when you're being hunted, haha), and I while I did run with new players from time to time, no one was ever rude or obnoxious when somebody messed up. We usually had a good laugh, fixed the mistake, and got on to the next part. It was actually funny on my first 2.05 run, when the healer didn't notice the new mechanic and kept trying to open the gates at the end for about a minute without the oil, haha! The Stalker was practically on top of us when we killed the right Tonberry and got through.
Hopefully none of that changes now that it drops myth tomes. After running it over twenty times and never having the group break up or fail to complete it, I'd hate to see some of the first groups I join in DF resemble those in AK or CM.
i like them as well, gives the dungeon a little more substance without being too hard.
I'm also glad about the CM changes, it still seems like its being used for speed runs, but it's definitely slowed down a bit due to the changes in mob locations. it shouldn't be a speedrun dungeon in the first place.
Has the golem summon rate increased for the first boss of AK?
I'm not sure if the party I did just had bad DPS or not, but it seemed as if straight off the bat there was golems - and after about 20 seconds of them being downed another one was up again.
So they made it necessary to kill a few packs of mobs (the ones in front of the first and second boss), both of which are easily AoEed down in under a min. The only other mobs that where skipped where the two by the chest which you can run infront of and not agro (if timed with the magitecs path) or just grabbed and pulling into the pack with the vangaurd (and AoE with them for no added time). Quick pulls and AoEs by the pumps make it about the same time as before also. If tanks are organized with how to do the pulling to the cannons at the end the minor changes there also have no added time. CM is only 3-4 min longer and your rewarded with a few thousand gil for the extra time.
The only time there is a significant difference in time now is if you get an AFKer, as more mobs to kill with less people is more noticeable.
Most likely your DPS. The fastest I have done it, we only get 1 spawn plus the middle guy. The slowest... well... we get a lot... to the point where the healer has trouble keeping up. Just because they are wearing good gear doesn't mean they know how to DPS properly :)
