I know there's enough complaining threads but is this person serious? This is a storyline dungeon that is meant to be done by people who just dinged 50.

As ignorant as it may seem, they're just trying to speed run it.
As far as the PS3 part goes, I found it incredibly annoying (being a PS3 user myself) trying to speed run Prae when the cutscenes take time to load up and skip, especially when Prae has way more than CM. Not saying that it's right for them to exclude PS3 users, but if that's their own preference *shrug*. I'm sure there are others who might not mind as much.
It has got to take more time to form such a party than they actually save during the run.
Be glad they're doing the right thing and shouting for their speedrun, and not going into the Derpy Finder solo and proceeding to complain at anyone who doesn't share their mentality... Praetorium is one of the better ways to farm tomestones in the game, so naturally it isn't always going to be done by people who just hit 50...
Maybe if they were doing one run, but I'm doubtful they are.
No PS3 Allowed....
I understand about the Relic part but PS3? O dear me...
Whats up next?
Coloured Hyur not welcomed!
Duskwrights please GO!
You need to be at least 5ft3in/1.65m to join!
Only invite Skimpy looking Miqo'te!
I'm on Excalibur and I heard another shout with PS3 only too.
Man the requirements to join groups are getting ridiculous, pretty soon we're gonna have to send our resume and cover letters to get in a group.
They used 'onry' - You can immediately discard any statement or request or shout that says that.
I get that it was a speed run and they want people who know what they're doing but this dungeon doesn't really require relics to do a speed run. And as for the PS3 CS issue I just don't see it, I play on both systems and haven't noticed the PS3 taking longer to load and if it does its maybe 3-4 seconds tops. I do agree with that other thread asking to toggle them off so they don't load at all because it is very annoying but still.
I get people want efficiency but be realistic, a PC player with a not so great connection will take longer to load their CS anyway.
Man, who cares? PS3 does indeed take much longer to load segments of the dungeon. If you're on a PS3 then make or find a different group.
Sheesh another thread on something they can just avoid? whats it to you how they want to form their party? all this whining and moaning over dumb crap PLEASE people complain about something that actually matters like lag issues titan AOE circles having a delay SOMETHING THAT MATTERS!! this "oh no people are shouting something that makes me feel bad" crap needs to stop AKA GET THICKER SKIN PLEASE!! for crying out loud do people that cry about the littlest of things think before they make these ridiculous threads?
well for one you can always say your on pc i mean how can they know if your pc or ps3 lol
Sheesh another post whining about whining. I never said I tried to join this group or even wanted to I just happened to see it and so I made a thread about it because I was bored. Yes there are better things to do with my time but my time is my time and I decided to create this thread with it.
They'll know instantly. PS3 takes like 20-30 seconds to load at the start of the dungeon. Even if you lied they'd probably remove you.
I don't condone it, just answering.
I've also seen people wear unpowered/unfinished relics to lie their way into relic only teams. The situation is pretty bad on Hyperion with shouts like that...
Crazy idea, but you know, you could always make your own shout?
The community isn't "elitist", it's lazy and stupid, and that is why it seems like it is "elitist", because they are the only people putting in enough effort to shout for 5 minutes to form a decent party. Everyone who isn't an "elitist" is just sitting their complaining about it instead of actually doing something... Feel free to make a shout with "PS3 welcome" in it if you think this is a massive problem, if you're already doing that... Well, congratulations, you'd be the first I've seen. Right now I see more people shouting about "elitist" shouts than I do for alternative shout groups; this community is pathetically stupid.
Hopefully the new board system in (I think) 2.1 will fix this to some degree. If people are still too lazy to put up a message for a group, which is effectively shouting without the shouting, then I don't know what to think...
Bahahaha. Speed running Prae.
I see no problem.
they're making their party. you don't like it? make yours.
Yeah, most teams I've gotten into leave the run together the sec they see a long loading time like that at the start. Then boot the person once out of instance.
I'm shocked everyone doesn't know any of the things I've pointed out. Is it just Hyperion that's this much of a rude and festering hole? The shout in OP's pic is what we see nearly every minute, and anti PS3 elitism and leaving runs cause of slow loaders is pretty much commonplace.
I'd rather everyone was friendly, but it seems to be the majority rule among those teams I join.
now help me if i'm wrong no this is not bad mouthing to ps3 players but did they not put they 3 second global cooldown in cause of the ps3 players or am i wrong ?
I'm curious exactly what game has caused this mentality? Last time I played WoW the community was bad but not like this. I know FFXI had it's bad seeds but nobody was excluded because they were on the PS2 or 360 or because of the gear they were wearing as long as it was decent and not something that makes 0 sense. So between a month after cata (last time I played WoW) and now so what the f**k happened?
Omg..... Get over it please.
First the speed runners are being told don't use DF and to make their own groups with their own requirements in /sh.
Now that's exactly what they are doing and it's STILL a problem? Not everyone is going to play like YOU. Regardless of how silly YOU think the requirements are.
Feel left out because you don't meet the requirements? Gear up.
Think the requirements are stupid? Don't join THEIR party.
As far as the ps3 thing goes. People will always find reasons to exclude people. In every mmo I have ever played people always have gear requirements for dungeons. The better geared you are the faster and more smooth the run will be.
Like really, this is kindergarten stuff people.
Honestly, most PS3 players (practically all people with the early generation PS3s) have upgraded the hard drives to bigger and better beasts, if not for speed then for space. I recently put an SSD in mine. Load times aren't an issue at all. And the global cooldown has never really been explained so it could well be any number of factors, controllers being one such possibility but even then it's still not an issue known solely by the PS3. Controller support was added in Beta 2, before the PS3 Beta, but even before that global cooldown has been in the game since 2.0 testing began. The PS3 is clearly not the reason for it. Now, all that said, I have seen the prejudice against the PS3 and it's made me not want to take part in end game. If all I have to look forward to is bigotry then I want nothing to do with it.
I haven't played an MMO for a few years, the last was WarHammer online, before that WoW and FFXI. The community wasn't perfect in those games but I never got ripped to shreds every time I made a small mistake in a group and people weren't exclusionary to this extreme. My only guess is people have less patience now than several years ago.
This generation of gamers keeps getting sadder and sadder
I agree people complained about these "elitist" using DF to speed run and were told to make their own parties if they wanted to speed run so...they did exactly that and still they get crapped on. So what next? they have to "examine" each player in town and send a tell? this is getting ridiculous. You think the "elitist" are bad look how you "casual" players are acting just as bad if not worse. Take a look in the mirror people!!
I keep seeing on these forums that if you want to have restrictions to who you want to have in your party make your own party, don't join a DF etc etc.. So someone makes their own party and people are still complaining... Sweet Jesus, gamers are becoming mentally stunted. He did exactly the right thing. I probably fall under the casual definition ATM, so please don't be generalizing this to a certain gaming group, this is more to do with gamers really just sitting back and thinking in a logical manner for once. I also need to stay off these forums, coming on here and reading the over dramatic post titles and logic deficient comments, it is the equivalent of opening up my skull and punching myself in the brain over and over again.
At what point did you forget that the Final Fantasy MMO crowd is one of the most elitist, Min/Maxing, and arrogant around? Get used to it, this is how FFXI has ran for years.
No, its because casuals tend to let people enjoy the content thats there. Casuals arent usually the ones nerd-raging at anyone for playing the game as its meant to be. A casuals may skip cutscenes and play on PC, but they dont go batshit crazy because someone guy wants to see cutscenes or is maybe on PS3. Casuals realize its a video game, not a second life. One where you lose some, win some, and progress as you play, not play to progress. Thats why hardcore speedrunners and other "go away, im too good for you" elitists arent liked much, theyre usually the drama queens causing all this negativity from the stress, anger and frustration they somehow allow themselves to get over a video game.
I personally dont care about what theyre doing in OP, its their choice ... but they still come off as being elitists looking down their nose at others thinking theyre not good enough to play with them.
In general it's the same as other MMO's not allowing people with crappy connections and bad computers. I'm sorry but PS3 is just old, you wouldn't want somebody on a computer from 2004 playing this game?
Why is it a problem if speed runners want specific players to group with? Doesn't it make sense to prefer like minded people in your group? I have no problem with these people shouting for those that fit their criteria. They choose to play they way they want to, with whom they wish. Isn't that the point of an MMO and pre-formed parties? That you can group with those who share a common interest with you? In this case the common interest is to be as over geared as possible, so they can run the dungeon as fast as possible, the same reason for excluding PS3 I presume (which is sad, but it is true that CS have a load delay).
So long as they are not preventing others from doing the same, or violating the ToS, who does it hurt?
Well while a lot might complain and say its not hurting anything, lets go ahead and leave it at that for a few months without any kind of resolve and see what happens. Here are my bets on outcomes at least how I see it. . . .
- It gets more so to a point that you will never find a group willing to let you watch cutsceens, going into dungeons for story quests become way to time consuming and making you waste days because no one wants someone new to the dungeon, PS3 users just plain end up only able to go around with other PS3 users due to no one on pc wanting them. ( note this is like a very unlikly extreme case but it could happen. )
- Other games come out that people get felt more to leave for due to this game community getting to a point worse that what Nexon forums were way before they started getting regulated.
