Blacklist fails to blacklist
A player on Ultros named Teknik Prime is spamming in Ul'dah mercilessly.
I try to add him to my blacklist and see an error saying he is already on my blacklist.
I try to send him a tell and I'm told I can't communicate with a player on my blacklist.
So now I can't even blacklist the spammers?
I realize new MMOs have many issues, as I'm a senior engineer from the gaming industry. That said, it's pretty sad how many low hanging fruit haven't been addressed yet.
1. Having to blacklist people or turn off shout EVERY time I go to a main city?
Unacceptable.
Hire a CM to sit in towns and ban people. I shouldn't have to do their job for them.
2. 99% of them spam a website (even changed from www.somesite.com to www, somesite, com is incredibly easy to check for). Just check for the same phrase repeated multiple times in the same shout. If someone's shouting and they're including the same phrase 4, 5, or 6 times... your engineers should be looking for that and alerting CMs, if they don't automatically quiet the person.
Feel free to reach out. I'd be more than happy to contract out some help to detect this if it would result in a better experience. But not correcting this (and NO, banning someone for having more than X gil is NOT a fix... You've now told all the gold farmers what the level is, so they'll ensure they always carry less) after such a successful launch is really not acceptable.
Square Enix clearly has the cash to address this. So do it.
