How to Apply KB2803821 Security Update

In regards to the issue where the opening cut scene of the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn (Windows ver.) will not play properly if the Windows update that took place on Jul. 11, 2013 was done on either Windows® Vista or Windows® XP, Microsoft has released the corrected version of the security update. Please refer to the following procedure to apply the update.

• If the security update has been uninstalled:
  Please refer to the procedure on "How to Restore Hidden Updates" and "How to Insall Updates Manually" listed on the following pages.
  • Windows® XP
  • Windows® Vista
• If the security update is not uninstalled:
  Please download the security updates from the following pages and install it manually
  • Windows® XP SP3(North America/EU)
  • Windows® Vista 32 bit SP2(North America/EU)
  • Windows® Vista 64 bit SP2(North America/EU)

How to Restore Hidden Updates(Windows® XP)

1. Access Microsoft Update from the following URL:

3. Once the available updates are displayed, make sure that "Security Update for Windows Media Player (KB2834904)" is included in the available updates and click Install Updates on the left side of the page.
