I had an idea while driving home from work yesterday about this. I started in LL but what happened to get other players to fight the evils of FFXIV? I think that after a certain lv say R26, there would be echoes that appear in the 3 starting city areas, LL the docks, U the markets, and G the black shroud. If the player clicks the echo they are allowed to be taken back in time and allowed to play through the other starting cities main story until the point where the stories merge.
What does everyone think? I haven't gotten higher then R26 so I am not sure how this would fit into the overall story line. As of now I think it could work.

I would like this very much. During the major cinematic movie during the rank 48 storyline mission, 3-4 heroes appeared before me whom I have absolutely no idea who they were. I am understanding that they are the main characters of each cities storyline come together to protect me from the man with the gunblade who did not introduce himself but tried to kill me and my partner. I started from Limsa Lominsa and the only person I recognize is the Mithra who is the admiral of the city. The first parts where it is a tutorial about learning the key areas and people of the town can be skipped, just let me play through the reasonable parts where I am at least introduced to all the key heroes of each city and help them out in some way.

I can't say too much, because I have barely started the main storyline.
But I don't mind this scenario. It makes sense to me that each city would feel the ripples of the evil in FFXIV, and being from a city in an entirely different location and with different politics, I don't think it is unreasonable that my character may be oblivious to the forces stirring in the other cities. It would encourage me to play through the main quest from the other cities' starting point/perspective.Quote:

While this feature would be nice, I'd leave it on the back burner until at least the nation stories are completed. Shouldn't we fully experience our nation before moving on to another?

Instead of seeing everything perhaps he would only fight the Gob. that was released and reeked havoc on the city and then witnessing the THM being banished from the city. Then BAM... back to your char at the echo. Before seeing all this you would ovb have to do some sort of quest or side quest to enter the echo.

shots dev tags go in the section below the post. putting them in the tittle is not the way to use them.
I do agree would be nice to be able to run through the sections of the main scenario that are from the other two cities. its all intertwined. and to fully understand whats going on you need to have access to the bigger picture. heck there are things in some of the class quests that are very much in lockstep with the events of the main scenario. and if that guild happens to be in a town that you are not from well good luck putting all the puzzle pieces into place. -

I recently finished the rank 36 conjurer quest and it began to talk about how Brother Mory was once a wildling of the forest and since I am from Limsa Lominsa, I have never even heard of this term in the game. But from what I am understanding, there is some explanation about them through the main storyline quest of Gridania. I was pretty confused with all the cutscenes with the wood elementals and the NPCs talked to me afterward like I should have known everything about wildlings and such so they did not explain anything about it really.Quote:
