a BETTER way to get casuals to play CC ranked and actually STAY playing

look, we can all agree that pvp is a hot mess right now and rewards are absolute garbage right? lets have a weekly currency for people who play CC ranked so that even those who are doing WELL but have crappy teammates don't 100% miss out on the seasonal gear. because lets face it, elo hell is real and its frustrating so lets respect everybody's time and throw them a bone otherwise CC ranked will be a whole 30 minute que every time, we don't want that now do we?

What if... I don't want the casuals to play CC ranked ? What if I'm willing to sacrifice more queue pops for higher quality matches with people who want and deserve to be there ? What you call a mess, I call something that is slowly trying to clean itself up. More enticing ranked rewards would go a long way into finishing the job.

Where are those 30 min wait times that you speak of ? Did we ever have them ? Even in The Feast ? Were they in Bronze ranks, 2 months into the season, when everyone else has climbed or gotten discouraged ? Were they at noon on a weekday, when people were you know... at work or in school ? Because that all sounds pretty reasonable to me.

How shocking that a mode that was nowhere near as popular as Crystalline Conflict, with role restrictions for tank/healer/melee DPS/ranged DPS still managed to pop every night.

Would I prefer it if queues popped more frequently and earlier and later everyday ? Sure. But the player base is just not there to support that. And it's certainly not the "casuals" as you put it who will make games more competitive and fun.

Ranked is not worth the stress, just play casual for the series exp.

There's no reason to bother with CC in its current state. Do one frontline a day, put in a perfunctory effort, collect your currency and move on.

We want to get people that interest with PvP to play PvP; not baiting casuals into PvP to make everything from bad to worst.

Oh I know that FFXIV PVP is extremely bad compared to some of the other stuff out there lol.

But I'm in the achievement hunting community where we try to do everything in the game, so I "have" to play it... a lot. I just want my experience to not be too painful and high-rank games with good players are the most fun you can get playing CC.

………..ppl have a very bad habit of this. When you tell someone not to do like respecting someone’s time, they do it even more by ruining it lmao.

Other than that, I don’t think the rewards will fix the problem this time. It needs a personal ranking system on top of team rank. You would think the tiered system we have is personal, but nope, it’s team based……with randoms. The more I think about it, the more unsatisfying it is.

Certain fighting games have a 2 ranking system, one for the character and one for matches played. It would give ppl a sense of how good this person with their main and how dedicated they play the game itself. If SE were to create such a system, I don’t think ppl would worry about the tiered rank, but more on their personal rank based on the job they play.
