Your description of CC omits the fact that people queue solo a lot. Getting matched up against a pre-made while being all-solo - or honestly worse, being matched with premades who do their own thing and neglect you - are things that happen a lot in a wide variety of PvP games.
Edit, oh how could I forget. Quick Chat feels awful yeah, but it has its pros. It's quick, meaning you don't need to make your own macros for callouts or stand in place and type. It also almost certainly prevents the insults that inevitably fly when things go south or someone messes up. Already you have Yoshida needing to tell people to stop sending tells after matches to players, or mid-match teabagging, etc. I can't, and don't want to, imagine the crapfest the chat would be.
With housing you don't need to cover up for an instance where it may be abused to harass somebody. PvP is an extremely heated and competitive environment in comparison so you need to tighten the bounds in case of people blowing their lid.
