Please grow the MMO part of the game. End game is lousy.

I grew a bit bothered seeing the heavy discussion about wooing offline players and revamping all the content to appeal to holdouts.

I have many friends I'd like to bring into the game, but it will never happen. The mere fact that this game connects to public spaces with open chat makes it a no go for most of those types. This is kind of a lot of resources to dedicate to things.

Meanwhile, many years later, our entire end game is still six total encounters, for half a year. The lack of growth is, as always, pretty disappointing. I really figured by this point we'd have more meaningful dungeons or at least a few more bosses at launch.

I'm not much of a malcontent here, I don't want large changes or weird mandatory grinds. I love the game, I love the combat and flow of it all, I just want a bit more to do (especially early expansion). I don't even really care about rewards, I just wanna play more and keep my friends who DO like MMOs interested longer.

It's not even the always online that is the blocker. Most of those people who say "except XI and XIV" are not going to pay a sub fee if all they want is a single player experience. I don't think alienating a portion of the playerbase who likes when the MMO part is encouraged for this idea of theirs of making XIV more like a "real" single-player RPG will pay off in the long term, but I'm not a business analyst, whatever.

I am holding out hope that these Criteon dungeon will be some sort of repeatable content that don't require you to form a big party. The end game feels pretty bad, especially when you've been struggling to find a raid static. I thought I would get into raiding Savages this expansion but nope, only group I raided with had their tank friend return so I got benched.

I agree that they're chasing the entirely wrong demographic.

The game's population exploded over the past year, due to a massive influx of people interested in the game because it's an mmorpg. Timid, single-player 'holdouts' are a drop in the ocean in comparison, and not worth potentially compromising an opportunity to please a demographic that is already known to be highly active and lucrative. This feels like another example of the developers being largely out-of-touch with the NA/EU playerbase, where most of the population expansion has been focused.

And what does the NA playerbase want? To me, it seems they want RP features, looking at PF on aether lol.

I thought people got sick of wow being a mindless grind fest, don't want xivs endgame turning into that.

Friend and I were actually discussing this during the LL. She brought up an example point that a good many single player focused players aren't going to play not because of the multiple aspect but the fact it requires a monthly sub.

Their whole focus on targeting this demographic really feels out of touch when the endgame content is largely barren beyond repeating the same Savage fights over and over again. That isn't to say they shouldn't expand on things like Trusts as I do believe those are worthwhile investments but it almost feels like they believe the massive boon in NA/EU is from single player gamers and not a good lot of them wanting a new MMO to play, especially the WoW influx.

If we're going by Aether's PF. There are far more High End raiding PFs than RP posts at prime hours. Seven weeks in and we're still averaging 50-80 PFs a day, if not 100. Of course that isn't to say NA is suddenly raid focused because it isn't. A lot of people just want more to do. And not necessarily difficult content either. When I look at 6.1, all I'm seeing is Ultimate and potentially this new dungeon. Everything else will be done in a week even if I only played for two hours a day. Stuff simply doesn't last.

Having a larger end game doesn't mean it has to be a massive grind fest. That's just a silly argument.

Please provide proof of your claim, because as far as I can see this company has enough proof for them to invest in more solo content. A company as large as SE would not invest in this aspect of the game if there were not a call for it. What are you worried about? Why force your preferred play style on anyone? This game was never about raiders I think you may have confused this game with a game that only caters to raiders. Just because there are a bunch of other players on your screen doesn't mean you have to interact with all of them. It's like going to a club and thinking you have to say hi to every single person you pass. It's a rather ridiculous notion and I am a older player and guess what I only talk to my FC and mostly do content by myself. I do two fights from the duty roulette just for the tombstones other wise I do trusts. I don't get why people are so controlling of others game play.

This game will crash and burn like WoW after another few expansions, if it even lasts that long. They need to correct course soon!

This!!!

The NA/EU market is practically ready to explode with desire for a good MMORPG. And I imagine there are a ton of people here in FFXIV simply because they don't feel there is a better option available. I, for one, love it here but would also like a MMORPG similar to the original Everquest or WoW in difficulty, challenge, and community. I even play project1999 on occasion and a private server for classic versions of some MMORPGs specifically because there is nothing on the market to scratch that itch.

I really wish FFXIV's dev team would break this mold of instanced 4-man content as your primary source of all progression and play more heavily into having people actually need one another. I want to play a healer than actually has to work smart to keep my party up and not run out of mana...not die and watch the tank solo a boss because they never needed me in the first place.

I either stop this game due to burn out or having nothing (enjoyable) to do. Things like the Bozja relic grind - where they stretch out what little content there is to an exhausting amount. Even the casual content is taking a hit. Often times, I don't actually want to stop playing the game, but there really is just nothing to do. Right now, if I had things I actually wanted to do in the game, I'd still be playing it. I am not currently burned out, but I have been playing other things for about a month. Yeah, I know Yoshida has said to take breaks, but this is a problem in their game design.
