Please make healing more worthwhile than Dps-ing

So recently i find a lots of healer refusing to heal more than the bare minimum in savage...
Most of them busy casting glare/broil or whatever the Dps spell is...
While i can understand that kind of behavior in a log party, i find it unacceptable in weekly farm...
so i have this idea so that healer is actually active in healing more than DPS-ing

1. Make it so that healer have a gauge that can only be accumulated by healing and raise (don't count overheal), that can be used to dish out a BIG Dps

and

2. Decrease the normal Dps spell potency (Glare/Broil/Etc)

The idea is to make people who actually heal and care for your party can dish out more damage than people who just throwing stone... Its frustrating to see a healer casting Glare in e4s last phase...

(I'm not a healer main not play healing a lot but i just want to share my though... any opinion is welcomed!)

They tried that system with WHM back in SB, and lilies were often considered the single worst job gauge in the game. They still act like that now, and those heals are still considered a last resort because they have to stop DPSing to use them.

As for healer DPS, so long as nobody is dying, why is them DPSing a problem? If they're shooting for bare minimum healing, good, that's what they should be doing, so long as nobody dies from lack of healing I fail to see any issues here.

Healing the bare minimum whilst no one dies is the goal for healing honestly, if you find it unacceptable that people are trying to play optimally perhaps your mindset is the incorrect one.

The problem lies with as long as nobody is dying... I agree healing the minimalist is the best BUT poeple are dying...
The wipe-fess because of healer not healing enough is more than ever (in my opinion maybe just met bad healer)

Theres this once when a healer drop the range and caster because the boss only have 1% hp left and continue dps-ing, sure its a clear but still... ?

Either the healers were out of resources or bad. You also need to take into account if the dps and tanks were contributing their mitigation/healing cooldowns to the cause.

But implementing a system like you suggested would be like giving a bonus to tanks if they are top aggro. Additional rewards aren’t necessary for doing your job, killing the boss is enough.

This. If Healers are meeting heal checks and everyone is doing their job, for what reason should we restrict Healers when they’re already at the bottom rung of DPS(bar WHM in some cases because selfish DPS)? We need more reason to play healer, not less.

ways to make healers heal more : increase damage done per second. increase frequency more than quantity.

or make GCD heals stronger than oGCD

or increase CD on oGCD heals. those would force healers to use more GCD. Tho ... best healers will always try to minimise their healing and maximize their dps.


what u talk about is more a player issue. the healer's role is still to keep group alive. And sometimes ... also because of how best players talk about healers being green dps ... some less good healers try to compete but don't manage their healing as well ... and that's where death starts

Have you not played WHM because this is literally WHM.

Reducing our potencies isn't going to stop us from DPSing. What on earth makes you think that would do *anything*? Our DPS output could be reduced to 3.x levels and we'd still be advocating for DPS contribution because it's more worthwhile than standing around with our fingers up our noses. I play videogames with other people to actively contribute to the group effort, not so I can watch them do everything for me and occasionally lift a finger when I'm actually needed.

Bad players are going to be bad players no matter what tools they have access to. Blaming it on the evil boogeyman that is DPS skills is dumb.

i confused, why making healer can heal without droping their dps make them want to play healer less!? unless people prefer mindless glare... which i know some like

「t's more worthwhile than standing around with our fingers up our noses」when there's NOBODY need heal then yeah DPS-ing is the best... but some healer DPS-ing more and i do mean more than that


I play WMH only on extreme level and the problem is the balance, its's still higher to just glare than healing, they need to make healing can end up in higher damage to make this work, which is not atm

PS. i'm not saying this toward healer who manage to keep their party alive i'm saying this because there's many (or my bad luck) healer cant't keep their party alive in savage especially...

I really liked the healer phase in Orbornne where the entire alliance's health is bleeding out. Took me by surprise. Would like to see more of that.
