Good morning FFXIV team and community!
Respectfully suggest to lower the participation requirement for Rival Wings from 48 players to 24 (3 teams of 4 for each alliance). All-in-all, keep the 48 players as a maximum requirement, while having 24 players as the initiating requirement.
I think this should keep the queues popping for both Astrologos and Hidden Gorge.
48 is such a large number, and I assume that the 48 player requirement to initiate the instance could dwindle the number of players queuing once players begin receiving the reward/mount, thus killing the queues in the future (which will require a community effort to re-initiate the instance). :(

They'd have to reconfigure some things. The map size may need to be smaller, especially in Astrologos. Better yet, delete Astrologos, because Hidden Gorge is way funner :) . I've only played in the mornings around 4 to 7 am EST and got 5 min queue pops both days, which is really weird as far as pvp timings go but it works for me, lol.

They need to lower the player requirement to make the Duty Finder pop but I think 24 people is too few for Rival Wings to start with. I would suggest 32.

No need to delete stuff. They need to give the map a makeover like what they did to Borderland Ruins (Secure). Reduced the size of the map and made balance changes to it.Quote:

I was queuing for this most of Sunday and on average the it had a 5min wait time, it was finding players quicker than Alliance Roulette (which is 24 man). I don't think there is any issues with the queues at this moment, but once the hype has died down in a few weeks (maybe less), definitely the waiting time will increase, as it would with any content.

Do you have to wait until prime time to do content? Sadly yes, but that's a community problem and not something SE can really fix. Smaller requirement doesn't necessarily mean faster pops, look at 8v8 Feast. That popped quickly towards the end of the day just like all the other modes that pull from a smaller player base.
The biggest wall keeping PvP back is the community. Look at other forums or just interaction with folks in game. The moment PvP is mentioned you can sense people tensing up, people that haven't stepped foot into a PvP mode or MAYBE have done 50-100 matches in their years of playing are quick to give reasons that PvP is bad. Most of the reasons are completely bogus, but to the inexperienced eyes they make sense, latch onto the negativity and pass it around. That is the sad state of the community right now, and I'm honestly not sure how to fix that issue outside of SE outright coming out and saying that PvP is as big of a focus as PvE and taking action to prove it.
FRC was a huge step in the right direction and I'm looking forward to more strides from SE to help us, the community, be more accepting of PvP all around. -

Some of the PvE community will root for PvP to fail because they see it as a waste of content, since PvP isn't a draw for them in MMO games.
It's hard to move forward from a point where people only acknowledge and discuss the negatives. For example, 4.0 PvP has less buttons but it's also getting class balance updates far more frequently than PvE content does. PvP content takes resources that could be used for more PvE things but some segment of the player base would be lost if there was no PvP at all. There isn't a good consensus of what works and what doesn't when people don't acknowledge the good parts of a system they may not like in it's entirety.
