As much as I would love a kitten option, Balmung exists, so no
They're Miqote, so you can play as their race - but children. And we wont get children as PCs for pretty obvious reasons - has been requested, discussed and been denied before.
This game needs less Kawaii not more
Yeah, I don't think children should be made into a playable option. What could be kinda fun though would be to introduce the costume system** like they had in XI.
There were a bunch of various types bats, worms, fleas, and they also had costumes that would turn you into child versions of the playable races. You couldn't do anything besides run around while under the costume effect, so that could keep the children safe in XIV if carried over. :P
**These weren't actually glamour sets, but random foods/items would transform your character into random things. https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Costume
This topic tends to either loop, or spiral into other things. So I hope I can simplify it by saying:
There. That should cover most of the big stuff.
- Khloe's a Miqo'te. Miqo'te as a race are already playable, and are generally assumed by appearance and mannerisms to be of adult age.
- Much of the story content puts you in situations meant for adults, and it would make little sense and flag censors if a child were in said situations.
- Yes, she's adorable. But don't let "cute" override "practical". We don't live or do things fit for children.
- Lalafell - the ones playable - are also generally assumed by appearance and mannerisms to be of adult age. Some may like to role play otherwise, but again, all else beyond personal head canons and player-made role plays makes them as adults. There's what you think, what you want to think, then there's how it is.
- "Cute/Kawaii" is subjective, and what one may like, others may not. People love Moogles, Carbuncles, and Paissas and think they're cute. I do not. I don't hate them, but the visual appeal does not strike me. I am not wrong for this, and others are not wrong to think differently. Respecting that difference is simply part of coexisting in an online environment.
Micah, you are using the latest cutesy hairstyle. Galaktica, you are sporting the summer Faire Joi which is right up there as well. Seems you both are dabbling with the more kawaii items that were released recently.
I'm all for being against the kids, but the 'no more kawaii' reasoning seems a bit weak. :X
