It is a bit of a shady excuse to just claim that the lalafell we see/play are adults, I'll give you that - but those Miqos and the other children are clearly intended to be and look like children... so nope, nope, nope.

It fits perfectly well with my glamour, which is not at all cutesy. Nor are buns necessarily a cutesy style. It's all about context and the overall look. If I were wearing them with the maids outfit, sure cutesy, but I am not.
