[Feedback] The Savage raid is way too stingy

2 chest and a weekly lookout are an exaggeration.
there are 7 categories of job: this means a player has 1/7 chance per chest to find something for his/her character.

Some considerations:
DPS:
- Maiming is DRG only
- Scouting is NIN only
- Casting is for RDM, BLM, SMN
A raid can have 4 different dps: i.e. 1 striking, 1 casting, 1 maiming, 1 aiming) BUT it has:
- 2x healing - 2x fending
A tank/healer has always another competitor.
The % to have an item for your job are low (2/7 per week), and some job has 50% chance to win because competition.

This system is unfair and it needs (a lot of) improvement.
1. if you are lucky you have the floor items in a single kill.
If you are unlucky after 8 kill you have only 8 datalog (and I don't know what to buy because I hope for a drop).
2. 2 roles (tank and healer) have always a lower chances to win something.
3. buy an item with datalog is expensive.

I hope you take this feedback into consideration and improve the system.

They could use the same loot system that Blizzard has, which is 'personal loot' when you kill a boss for the first time during the week each person has a 25% chance to have a piece of loot you can use drop into your inventory from the bosses loot pool.

rng keeps people going to that content.

even if you had a 99% chance you could get that 1% fail. Anything short of 100% will make you keep doing content, if everyone got everything the first week, content will die.

I think witht the book token sytem it's fine everyone should get look with the passing weeks, the thing that I do not like however is how extreme some are, 1 and half month to get a guaranteed piece is a bit overkill considering sometimes you will need multiple of those, 1 month for a small upgrade is also overkill the fact that you can't get or exchange v1 books for anything after you get all the desire loot also seems like a waste and if your static is stuck at v3 good luck getting those sweet pants a month and a half later after you clear. Yes the system is there to keep content alive but In my opinion it's a bit extreme without luck you will easily spend months gathering books before SE kick you in the balls and free hand upgrades to every soul with the upcoming 24-man raid but you YOU! oh no, YOU the one doing the content you better spend a month of hardcore raiding if you want this little piece of upgrade no excuses.

I'll understand if 24-man was similar but no, one week guaranteed drop feels good seen all your effort go away. "but it's the challenge not the loot" yeah the first 27 times were fun after that it's all about loot.

reflecting on this I have to agree that if my as a whole team including myelf were better we would had the pants from V3 and even if we cleared v4 we probably all would be fully geared up by now... I guess I was seenig it on the wrong side, if we aint clearing it we don't derver it simple and clear. If we want it we have to work harder. thanks thechnole you actually help me clarify my anger and confusion.

changing my previous thoughs on this threat I belive the system as it's fine as it's you want it you gotta work for it, if the team clears the floors you have more chances of loot per week and more tokens to get your gear. As for 24 man free drops Technole is right, it might be free loot for non-raiders but a help boost for those stuck in withing the current floors.

So basically you're saying SE should lower the cost of books required? I meant it might hold true for the gears but upgrade token will be available via 24 man tokens and hunt logs later on.

When that will be old content, all lockouts will be removed. And you can already feel it, with incoming 4.1 content you will be able to access an o4s equivalent weapon in some content of about o2s difficulty level.

Lockouts on latest raids are for some reasons, as example to avoid the progression gap between average and raiders too huge in too much short time span. You may not like it but that's it.

Not sure what your definition of "equivalent" is, since the i345 weapon coming in 4.1 will be coming from the Ultimate Bahamut trial.
The weapon dropping in The Royal Menagerie EX will likely be i335.

i335 or i345, both have no use outside raiding.

You can do and kill everything with yout i310 tomes weapon. Anything more is just for the parser braggin' or raiding.

Caster drops are a lie! I've been doing current tier savage for six weeks now (haven't got this weeks clears yet) and I haven't seen a single piece of caster loot drop!

My only real gripe with raiding loot is getting gear for jobs no one is playing. We get a ton of maiming and aiming and maiming gear. We don't have any jobs that actively use that gear (sans v4s- we bring a bard for that fight). I had hoped that at least raids would have been attuned to composition useful gear, but leaving it to RNG to decide what could benefit ('cause it's possible to still get healer/tank belts 7 weeks in a row- thanks Midas).

Waiting 8 weeks to get 1 drop is nice on paper, but when you stop and consider how long it may take certain groups to clear things to begin with, it's a really long goal. World firsts and servers firsts and hardcore raiders will get their gear well beforehand. It's the other people that are really ultimately hurt by such a huge time lock.
